“Just had a meal with My family, we thought the food was excellent. The trick to good food is to be able to taste all the ingredients that is in it. Not the oils or some heavy sauce. Tasted homemade, like Mom would make it. The fried rice had no oil taste to it which is hard to do. The vegetable spring rolls were light and flavorful not overpowering with sauce. Not oily. Like food is supposed to taste. Look forward to going back and trying some of the other dishes. The portion was fair for the fresh food. Talking to them they make it all freash daily, so don't go to late they may run out.
If you're looking for heavy sauce, heavy oiled, and big portions this is probably not your place. Probably go to some chain restaurant.
Would definitely go again.“

“After a long morning at Waimea State Park, I picked Da Booze Shop because the name made me laugh. Well the jokes on me because the food, service, and atmosphere were stellar! I have always loved eating in Mom and Pop places because they always have the best food. I got the Mahi Katsu and had enough leftover for a snack. If you are traveling with kids this is a great place to eat. You can eat across the street at the park and let the kids play and expend some energy.“

“Our tour stopped in Hanapepe and we came across Midnight Bear Breads. Such a cute little town and bakery. My aunt and I picked up some delicious fresh pastry and breads. “This food truck is the best place for poké on Kauai! Charming relaxed atmosphere, DELICIOUS food at affordable prices, all next to an open building with great shops. Corn hole game for the kiddos set up near the covered seating area. All 8 in our group agreed that this was the place to eat! Visited 2-3 times during our stay. Highly recommend!“

“Food at La Spezia is outstanding! This was the first time dining at La Spezia (party of three), and we couldn't have been more pleased. Service was prompt, friendly, and attentive. The food was the most delicious any of of us has ever had. I ordered the gnocchi, my friend ordered the short rib ravioli (and couldn't stop raving about it!), and my husband devoured the wagyu hanger steak (he said it was amazing!). The wine we drank was terrific as well (a red zinfandel)! Even though all of us were full, we ordered dessert the salted caramel panna cotta, which was outstanding! All in all a meal we will never forget! We highly recommend La Spezia for a very enjoyable night, to anyone looking for a great restaurant in Koloa.“

“Tidepools is a must visit if you're staying at the Grand Hyatt. The seafood options were phenomenal, the cocktails and wine selection were excellent, and the malasadas should not be skipped if you have any room for dessert. This was probably the best meal we had during our week exploring Kauai.

“We are HGV owners and are enjoying our time at the point. We can’t say enough about Mike and Marla the Magnificent and Zada! So helpful, so personable, food is great, so accommodating! Feel like I’ve known them forever! Unfortunately, we did not have the same experience with the December 4th morning bartender Keoki. He seemed bothered to have to assist us in any capacity. Short and disrespectful in his responses as well. Glad that we woke up to Marla on Friday to start our day!

“If you're visiting Kauai and craving authentic Hispanic food, Pacho's Tacos is a must-stop. We found it randomly while exploring, and it ended up being one of the best meals we had on the island.

The fish plate was incredible -- perfectly cooked with a great blend of fresh, bold flavors that really stood out. The burrito was solid as well, packed generously and full of flavor. Honestly, it felt like I was back in San Diego with the quality and taste.

If you're visiting from outside the state and missing good Mexican food, you'll definitely appreciate this spot.“

“If you are visiting Kauai, Taro Ko Chips in Hanapepe is an absolute must-stop—not just for the chips, which are incredibly thin, crispy, and savory, but to support a deeply touching local legacy.
When you pull up, don't be deterred by the appearance. Yes, the building is very rundown and looks like a humble, old shack. But inside that kitchen is a story of incredible resilience.
The business was started by the current owner's father. Sadly, due to illness and tragedy, the family has passed away, leaving the son to carry on the business entirely on his own. He is the last one left to keep his father's legacy alive.
It is important to know before you go: the owner is autistic and very socially awkward. He is a man of few words and likely won't make small talk or eye contact, and the interaction might feel abrupt. Please do not mistake this for rudeness. He is working hard, day in and day out, in a hot kitchen to keep this family tradition going despite having lost everyone else.
Buying a bag of chips here isn’t just about a snack; it’s about supporting a man who is holding onto his history with everything he has. The chips are delicious (get the garlic flavor!), but the spirit of this place is what matters most. Please be kind, be patient, and support this local soul.“

“I’m a big fan of taro chips and they pretty much make them fresh here. We ended up complimenting this with fresh poke we had made from a fishing charter trip with Go Fish Kauai. I got a few bags so plan on snacking on these at the beach. $7 a bag but worth it given the quality and freshness. Support local“

We also had the chicken pad Thai and it was good. Nice chunks of chicken and the noodles were cooked perfectly.

It was good and the service was fantastic, but not so good that we made a second stop on our trip. Their service was quick too, so it's a good stop if you only have a short time to eat! Their menu includes: Truffle Burger, Veggie Burger, Chicken Katsu Sandwich, Kenji Burger (teriyaki, ponzu aioli, caramelized onions, cheddar cheese, tomato & arugula), Misoyaki Fish Sandwich, Salads, Sushi Burritos & Bowls (loco moco, chicken katsu, misoyaki fish, and poke). “We were looking for dinner kind of late on Sunday. Not much was open. We saw the McDonald's and turned in, and that's when I saw the Ramen place behind the McDonald's. THE FOOD WAS AMAZING! My husband and I both ate for right around $20.00. GET THE FRIED RICE!“

“From Japan here. Where do I start. BAJA CHALUPAS 3! Sundays and Mondays at Lawai Beach Resort! It was great home style food! The portion size was huge!! The hot sauce was HOTTT but I like my hot sauce spicy hot so I enjoyed it. Do dare if you choose. Had a great conversation with Kryshtian! He was really cool. The shrimp quesadilla was great. “Have been on the Island 5 days so far and have enjoyed this beachfront destination at least 3 times so far. Stopped by and grabbed drinks and nachos...excellent! Stopped and had lunch the next day and the chicken teriyaki sandwiches were very good! Stopped for drinks and an early dinner last night and had a burger and fries, the wife had chicken teriyaki plate and both were great! Staff was great, very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend.“

“We went to Isola Cucina to celebrate my birthday and had a great experience. The food was incredibly delicious. We had calamari fritti, focaccia with pesto butter and extra virgin olive oil, and shrimp maltagliati for appetizers.

For our main dishes, we had the ribeye steak with Chianti demi-glaze, chicken marsala, and shrimp scampi, all with sides of lobster. Everything was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. Our desserts was ono too.

The hostess was very accommodating and our server was good. Our food came out on time and we didn’t have to wait long. They also had live music, which made the atmosphere even nicer.

Overall, it was a great place to have dinner or celebrate a special occasion and we had a fantastic birthday dinner.“

“Ahi tacos are amazing and big!“

“This is a quick service burger joint. No frills but it’s not needed. The classic bubba burger hits just right, and personally, adding cheese makes it the right level of crispy, greasy, and cheesy yum.

I really appreciated that both times I went (yes, this was a dinner, then a repeat for lunch the next day) they confirmed the toppings and that I was signed up for the unusual mix. To be clear, I generally hate onions. I went for it with this burger and I’m so glad I did!

The fries and onion rings were simple and classic.

Also, there always seems to be a line but don’t let that scare you off! They’re very fast!“
