While the restaurant is a takeout window, there is ample seating space in the open cafe and plenty of shops to explore in the nearby complex while your food is prepared.“

“I love this place. It’s very close to my house and I get lunch there frequently. I like the grilled chicken sandwich. It’s very low key but a nice remnant of what Kauai used to be like. The food is good but to a mainland person it might seem pricey; however there’s basically no place here that you can eat for under $20 per person.
If you can, call your order in ahead of time to avoid the 15 minute wait while they make your order fresh.
As a local, I’d recommend checking it out.“

“Went to hukilau for 37th wedding anniversary. Oct 15. Was dying for prime rib. Didn’t care about price I wanted Prime rib so so bad. All we get here on Kauai is choice. There is no fat in the meat no marbling and you can’t cut it with a fork. You have to slice every bite. That is choice. And if you’re good with that. Then the rib is great. It was cooked perfectly. But I wanted the prime rib. Prime has fat all thru it and so tender the meat falls apart. Little pieces of fat around the edges and you can see the marbling in the center. I actually asked the waitress what was on my plate (which I have never ever done before) and she said it was prime she even went to the chef to check. He too said it was prime. I have cooked a lot of prime rib in my lifetime so I feel like I know what talking about but I felt like I was being blown off like an unknowing tourist. All I know is that my meat did not look anything like what is in the photo of their prime rib on the website with photos of their menu. Love this place otherwise. Been going there for 30 years. Incredibly nice waithelp and an incredible view for a romantic evening.“

Menu includes maki rolls, sushi burritos, musubis, poke, and miso soup. Dedicated gluten free (including the soy sauce), so safe for Celiac. Can also accommodate vegetarian and vegan diners. The ahi musubi and crab (cooked) musubi we had were delicious, as was the house made organic iced tea, sweetened with local honey. To my palate, the miso soup was under-seasoned. Everything is made to order, and our 10 minute wait went by quickly. Seating is outside in partial shade.“

It was good and the service was fantastic, but not so good that we made a second stop on our trip. Their service was quick too, so it's a good stop if you only have a short time to eat! “My husband and I have been eating our way through the menu and haven't had a bad meal ever! It's my favorite place to eat on the island. My personal favorites are the deep fried mac n cheese or fries poutine appetizers, the duck or lamb dinners and always the cheesecake with bacon toffee or chocolate pudding. Drinks are fantastic and I love the infused smoked effects that can be added or the sweet martini drink on the dessert menu that tastes like drinking a snickerdoodle cookie. They have the biggest selection of whiskey, bourbon, scotch and rye around. A definate must try! It's truly the BOMB! ❤“

And how could we end our trip in Kauai without eating there for our last diner. So here we are for the third time in a row. And we are not disappointed at all. We loved everything that we had here. We tried the padthai, the coconut curry, the Pan Fried Lo Mein and the Fresh Kauai Shrimp. It was EXCELLENT. We truly recommend this place. The waiter Silo is so nice and the food so good.

They don’t open until 5:30, the parking lot was almost full and a line at the door, reservations first then walk ins.
