“I always do takeout bc they're not exactly located in a great area they do have some tables and chairs but again do not recommend eating there take your food home the food is good the staff is always friendly and they're open late“

“Food very tasty! Ahi katsu n mac salad was great! Kinda pricey for the portion, and the up charge fee is a little ridiculous ! I get it but don't try to get rich overnight give the consumer a fair shot! But overall food was great at least for what i purchased. Was a little disappointed on my 2nd visit drove from Waianae to get ahi katsu but was told they don't have it on the menu it's a special but not sure what day of the week!??‍♀️??‍♀️So tried garlic chicken it was good! Garlic noodles was great i liked it! But overall there wait time is tooooo lonngggg! Did both dine in and take out!“

“Downright DELICIOUS. Highly recommend the katsu chicken meal. And out of all the places I've ever had macaroni salad this one is my top pick. Also have amazing cheeseburgers for the prices! Easy order or pick-up experience and plenty of TV entertainment in the lobby as you wait.“

“We went here for some good poke and it was mostly great. My husband got the spicy ahi and salmon shoyu which were both delightful! I ordered the California ahi and was surprised to find giants chunks of imitation crab meat in it. I do not care for this at all so I picked it all out. I wish there had been descriptions under the options. I did ask about the spice level but I assumed that the different names were related to the sauce. Next time I will ask more questions.“

“Everything on the menu is onolicious and what makes it even better is the ohana that makes you feel right at home. Well worth the drive from the west side. 😋😉 Don’t forget to pick up a tray of butter mochi too!!“

“Make sure you triple check your oder. Today we ate at the Honolulu Bistro for the first time. The guy at the register claims he didn't rung us up for 2 sandwiches. At checking out he did say back our order. The recipe is not detailed either. The amount we paid was definitely for 2 sandwiches. We ended up sharing 1 sandwich and left.“

“Very warm and inviting atmosphere and family friendly. All of the performers and staff were extremely kind and helpful and the food was excellent!
A stand out moment: They invited couples to the front to dance, but our toddler was getting wiggles out in the grassy area so my husband and I danced together in the back of the venue. Someone in the crew noticed and ran all the way to the back to give us a flower bouquet with all the other couples. We were both blown away that they noticed us dancing in the back and took the time to give us flowers as well.“

“By far one of the greatest experiences from food to extremely exemplary service. We started with the tako escargot, then Mac nut covered fish and steak with frites. It was such an incredible experience we cancelled our Saturday dinner plans and came back for dinner. We come from big island and every time we come to Oahu, about seven or eight times a year, we eat at the merrimans. By far the best of the merrimans on the various islands. “Bob's BBQ has character, a small shop with good food. My brother-in-law was craving meat and they have it. Great pork ribs, beef ribs and chicken. Comes with rice and mac salad. We also had burgers. Crispy bacon made it perfect. The fries were piping hot. Service was nice and efficient. Other customers ordered fish, if we have time before we leave, we csn do another stop.“

“They had a lot of things to add to my tofu poke bowl. The sauces were clearly marked and there were several options, and I loved being able to add wasabi, dressings, brown rice, crunchy onions and garlic, edamame, corn, onions, and more. It was a meal that I felt good about ordering and eating.“

Recently our Mom passed away and immediately Camille's came to mind for the catering because their food feeds the soul...they cook from the heart and it translates into the flavors of the food. Everyone loved everything ...we had the Lau laus, kalua pig, BBQ chicken, and the smoked meat...everything was cooked and packed with so much love and care it was touching and it overwhelmed our hearts!!! “This is the perfect hidden food place that locals go to. Good food, good prices and the service is practically non existent. Meaning, it's 99% take out. There is a small table outside but that's why it's cool. No nonsense food at a good price. I highly recommend the Bento #1, the Katsu and the fried chicken.

Parking: The parking is hard to find but if you wait for a few minutes someone will leave.“

“Take out only. The have a vast variety of manapua, both steamed and baked. Staff is very friendly, efficient and puts a smile on my face. Makes a great impression when you are walking into a meeting, gathering, etc cause although everyone loves manapua, pork hash, half moon, rice cake, etc. Most people never think about this option which is far superior to donuts or other pastries.“

“Classic Hawaii hole in the wall. This location is the birthplace of the franchise. BBQ Mixed Plate, Chicken Katsu, and BBQ Burgers are my go to. If you have not been to location in a while, feels like new owners. Portions are generous (love it when the Styrofoam container has a hard time staying closed) and reasonably priced. If you haven't yet, give it a try.“

“Penny's has been a family favorite for decades. We are addicted to the roast turkey plate (get the onions!).

When my wife was recovering in the hospital after our first born, her meal request was a Penny's roast turkey plate.

We stop in whenever we can.

No better low-key, family run grinds on the island!

Kid-friendliness: The staff is so sweet. Our last visit, they gave our kids little fun bags with crayons, coloring pages, etc.

“Locomoco drive inn is now permanently closed. Last day was Aug 29, 2025. They are being replaced by Pepper Lunch (Dec 2025). The owner was really heartbroken because he said he's been here for 20 years. They moved near Safeway Kapahulu: please support them there. They make amazing garlic ahi, salt n pepper mochiko chicken, and a lot more variety of Hawaii comfort food.“

“I am foodie from Japan, enjoy once or twice a month hotel buffet in Tokyo. But Orchids Sunday branch menu was the best ever. Not only does it taste good, but it also tastes good, fine scenery, number and placement of staff and their diligence noteworthy.“

“Driven by this place dozens of times, but it looked so touristy - big bus tours stopping, shells in the window, etc. - never stopped. Obviously finally did and the chicken was excellent, as was the mac salad and huli huli sauce. Grabbed it to go and ate at a beach up the road. So good forgot to take pics until it was demolished!“

“I like local restaurants and L&L is good with reasonable price. Chicken Cutlets is a little bit oily but Loco Moco is very good. Don’t expect super clean tables and chairs.The loco moco here is cheap, the amount is so large that you can't finish it (regular), and it's delicious. During lunch time (starting around 11:30am), there are a lot of locals working in the area, so it gets crowded, so the later hours are often empty.“
