“We stopped here on our way back to Hilo from Akaka Falls. Without overstating any claims, this was an AMAZING experience. I love pineapple in kind of a strange way, but I’ve never had anything more than the Dole junk I can buy from my supermarket in Pittsburgh. This was the opposite! The pineapple was grown on the farm where we were standing. In a word, it was SPECTACULAR. Similar feels for the coconut and sugar cane.
Bonus points for the farm dog hanging out chewing on everybody’s leftover coconut meat!
This IS Hawaii. This is America.”

“This cute little shack is a Hawaiian classic near akaka falls. Nice menu with shakes, smoothies, wraps etc all using fresh local ingredients, many from their own farm. There's a small selection of clothing and hats and several picnic tables to enjoy your meal don't forget to look behind the shack for a couple more private picnic tables on the grass”

“I wish I had known about them when they opened. Everything is flavorful and reasonably priced. The meat looks like meat and the fish looks like fish, if that’s what you need.”

“It may be a food truck, but trust me, these folks take coffee culture to a level that makes Starbucks seem like kindergarten. My only complaint: how do you decide what to order when you literally want to try everything on the menu? Orange blossom or Black sesame latte? Thai iced tea (made with coconut milk) or Lilikoi Cheesecake frappucino? I finally went with the Vietnamese iced coffee. Never had it before, but knew that it would be crafted competently here. I'm not exaggerating when I say that this was the BEST espresso beverage I have ever tasted! Super bold espresso flavor tempered with exactly the right amount of sweetness and cream! Five stars is not enough for this business. I will definitely be a customer for life!
Parking: Plenty of parking at the park right behind it”

“Very friendly staff, they said any item in the menu can be done as vegetarian. We had Tacos de papa (potato tacos). The lady gave us their signature habanero salsa. All together the food was awesome. The lady at the counter was very kind has gave many pointers for vegetarian food in Hilo. Highly recommend this place. Parking was easy and you can also eat outside in the patio.”

“Really great cocktails with friendly and helpful staff. My favorite was the Tea. I really liked the variety of cocktails and how unique they were. Not something you can just get anywhere else. Presentation was cool too. Would definitely come back if we're in the area again.”

“Stop here for breakfast and try the different foods. The food was amazing and the staff were very helpful when helping to pick out what we wanted. A full box and 2 juices was only about $17 so worth the price! The photo here shows how excited we were to dig in and not capture all the food! There isn't places to sit and eat but we found a nice park to enjoy it at.”

“Rumor around town was that there were 2 Ladies creating a buzz. They've been around for a while putting smiles on people's faces. Locals and tourists alike kept talking about these Two Ladies in the Kitchen. A song came to mind, "Hey, good lookin',... sweet baby... what you got cookin'?" & OMG these Sweat Treats are Delicious!!! I have to confess, my only experience with Mochi Mochi, a Japanese rice cake, is the Trader Joe's version. Now, don't get me wrong... TJ's has a good Mochi IceCream delight. However, once you taste the Authentic Mochi (もち, 餅) delights and the creative variations from Two Ladies Kitchen, you'll understand why all these people are raving about them. "For her, I would gladly ferry across the Sumida on the coldest winter day to buy her those sakura-mochi sweets from old Edo that she loved so much." Kafū Nagai, Three Japanese Short Stories”

“Mahalo nui au i nā wāhine o ka Papa'a Palaoa Bakery ma Hilo, Hawai'i. They assisted me in providing a whole lilikoi pie to bring home to San Francisco. They fully wrapped the box in plastic to keep the pie protected, so I could then place it in an insulated bag and surround the box with frozen ice packs. The pie (as well as a cinnamon roll) made it back home just as "hou" (fresh) as when I purchased it, me ka pilikia ole (with no problems), and the pie tastes 'ono loa. I am very grateful for their assistance, and especially their kindness. I highly recommend this bakery to everyone who wants fresh baked goods, but most of all, I am very grateful to the Aloha given by their employees. Mahalo nui loa!!”

“I love Hilo lunch shop, they are the best okazuya shop on the island. I can't really say there's anything that I've had that I didn't like, and I've tried more than half of what they have on their menu. My favorite is the maki sushi, nori chicken, and hash. I'd recommend getting their dipping sauce as well, which is usually included at the end (Get extra sauce, it tastes good on a bunch of their food items).
I feel like there's always a line, so be prepared for that. The wait can be 15-20 minutes long at times before they take your order. There's not a whole lot of space for the people in line, so it gets a little cramped in there. And there is no seating, so be prepared to take your food to go.
I haven't perfected the perfect time to show up. If you go too early, sometimes not all the food is made. If you go too late, they do run out of food quickly. I've heard the best is to call in your order so you can hopefully get everything you're trying to order.”
