“Hipster parents rejoice! Driving across the middle of the country, needing vaccination, gas, and playtime? This is the joint. You will doubt a coffee shop attached to a gas station could be any kind of acceptable, but this is a diamond in the cornfield. Great coffee, food to accommodate all dietary restrictions/limitations/desires, and a rad play area for kids. Hooray!“
“It was Saturday morning & the cafe was busy. Took about 25 minutes to place our order. Wonderful breakfast selection & coffees. Very clean and organized. Staff excellent and the food fabulous! Will definitely go back. My cafe mocha was perfect & the avocado toast anaz“
“We stopped here for lunch on a very busy Saturday. We were told it'd be about 30 minutes before we got seated, and we agreed to wait. I'm so glad we did, because it was absolutely worth it in the end! We were seated at the bar, which we didn't mind, as the seats were comfy. Our food came quickly, tasted delicious, and we had the most wonderful server, who made our visit there even better, with her friendly positive attitude. As for parking, we found a spot on the nearby street (with a parking meter, so bring some quarters). We'll definitely be back!“
“This is a great little coffee shop. I had a Turkish blend dark roast with a shot of espresso and it was fantastic. Also one of the cleanest public bathrooms in a coffee shop I have ever experienced. I would definitely poop here if I had to.According to signage and the surroundings, they're very bicycle and dog friendly as well.“
“I love coffee, but not a connoisseur. I usually get Starbucks as a treat when I'm traveling. I grabbed an oat milk latte here when staying at the hotel and wow!! The coffee is incredible! My cup made Starbucks taste like water. And honestly the price was less than anything I've ordered at Starbucks. I'm craving my next cup!Dietary restrictions: Oat milk for dairy freeKid-friendliness: Cute little kids table and chairsWheelchair accessibility: Elevator to the second floor. Although not sure you can use it if not staying at the hotel, because it has a room key lock.“
“Nice corner location for this cute coffee shop!It is adorable, and there are a few seats to sit inside and attached with clothing store. Selected menu but amazing authentic coffee “best Vanilla coffee”. I will definitely come here again when I’m back in university campus.“
“This is my favorite place to get poke bowls. The ingredients are always delicious and reasonably proportioned. To top it all off, the presentation is always excellent, they even include a pretty flower atop the dish! Everyone in Iowa City should try this restaurant at least once.“
“Everything I have tried here is really good, and the food they sell down at the farmers market is out of this world delicious. The owners are kind and make you feel welcome, as do the employees. Last time I was in they had added some fantastic art. I cannot recommend this place enough!“
“Tru Coffee is incredible, it's everything I want out of a go-to coffee shop! The owners and staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and the coffee is really good, high quality, and very well made. The space is large and has nice bright natural light, beautifully decorated with many happy, healthy plants. Additionally, I browsed the resale clothing rack and found a vintage Levi's denim jacket for $30 and was thrilled! Went for the coffee, but the inexpensive resale and hand crafted merchandise was yet another bonus for me!If we lived locally, we would visit Tru Coffee regularly, but we will absolutely be back when we're in town- thanks for a great experience!“
“This is my favorite place to drink tea and study in Iowa City. They have a wide variety of loose-leaf teas to choose from, each served in its own lovely tea set. It provides a calm and pleasant atmosphere and if you're lucky you can grab a window seat overlooking Dubuque Street. Usually the staff are very kind and knowledgable.“
“Frozen yogurt is healthier than ice cream, but tastes the exact same! It's also very delicious! You can choose from lots of flavors of ice cream and you can choose from a wide variety of toppings. The service is also fast and easy. I'd recommend trying Aspen Leaf's Frozen Yogurt soon!“
“My favorite place to relax and work on my crafts. I'm in poor health, so, I spend a lot of time resting at home. This place feels so cozy that I can get out of the house without straining myself at all. The drinks are great too, obviously. LolWheelchair accessibility: I'm in an electronic wheelchair and I can get around just fine. Even the upper level has a ramp. Though the ramp is a little narrow, I don't mind personally.“
“This is a wonderful place to study, meet someone or even just for some quiet time. It wasn't too loud, and the music is also not so loud or distracting. There are many different kinds of sitting arrangements, with sufficient outlets as well.“
“I work downtown and stopped into Mammitas for a coffee. The atmosphere is so cozy and inviting. The staff is very welcoming and knowledgeable about their products. Upon their recommendation, I ordered a Horchata and it was the best drink I've ever had! I didn't get food this trip, but I've had it before and it is excellent. I highly recommend this amazing local spot!“
