“I love Daisy Chain in DSM! The Miel and the Pistachio latte are wonderful. The coffee is one of my favorites in the US. Very kind staff with quick intentional chats and the line is fast paced if there is one. The wax mini sculptures are very fun and unique. A must go to when in DSM! It's located in a great area to walk with friends aswell and stop in local shops.“

“I highly recommend Black Cat Ice Cream! They have a lot of unique homemade ice cream flavors that are creative and seasonably appropriate. It’s a fun experience with the ice cream options and the atmosphere in the shop and outdoor seating options. I’ve tried their scoops of ice cream, and the ice cream nuggets dipped in fudge. It doesn’t matter what I get, so far I’ve been happy with my selections each time. If you love ice cream and are looking for something fun and unique, this is the place for you!“

When I encountered Confluence's Des Moines IPA - Double Dry Hopped, it instantly became my number one. What a perfect balance of subtle but not overwhelming sweetness with a crisp wet hoppiness that doesn't overwhelm. Getting this balance right is insanely tough.Got to tour Confluence and was even more of a fan. What a fantastic operation, with a passion for innovation. They may be Iowa's best microbrewery but I'm telling my boys at Sierra Nevada, you've got one hell of a competitor nipping at your heels!Confluence is a beer you can be proud of drinking, for its taste, its innovation, and its commitment to its communities.“

“I came here expecting to only be served malts, but contrary to the name, they offer much more than just that! Various ice cream novelties, bottled water, and napkins are served for prices that adjust with inflation. They even serve puppy cones, that's just another reason why I wish I was a dog! There was no indoor seating, but I guess that's how they keep their ice cream recipe secret from the public. My go-to order is a turtle sundae without the nuts and caramel, it's a state of ice cream rapture!“

“Came here on Saint Patrick's Day for the green beer. We also tried the Green Caramel Apple cider. It was very sweet and delicious. It was fairly busy but no wait. The food options were amazing. Not limited to typical bar food. We had a Reuben, Kimchi flat bread, and brussel sprouts. It was so much food, but so good we couldn't stop eating.“

The prices are typical with the area. The bartender was on point and it wasn’t to sticky. For me the ambience wasn’t what I expected. Numerous bachelorette parties and those people that ride that drinking wagon thing came and went. A privileged frat boy sorority girl feel but maybe it was just the day. Without the patio I don’t think I’d bother with the place and I wonder what happens in the winter 3/4s of their seating disappears. I’ll swing in again to enjoy a nice patio evening but maybe on a weekday instead.“

“Place was packed. Had the atmosphere of your favorite neighborhood establishment. The waitress recommended we join a table with another gentleman, who turned out to be a regular patron, and we had a very pleasant visit w/him. Ordered the Bubba Burger and it was excellent; especially liked the flavor of the "Sully" sauce. If we are ever in the Des Moines area again, Sully's will definitely be on our must stop list.“

First at the marina office near the road and then we turned around on the winding path before getting to the restaurant thinking it was leading nowhere. Just keep driving - you will eventually get there...Once we finally found the restaurant, the view was great and probably the largest draw - hard to top relaxing at a table with food and drink while watching the lake and boaters. The facilities are what you might expect for a seasonal dock business with public access...functional, simplistic and a little crude - not what you would find in even an average place on land.With that said, we found the drink selection and the food to be above average. We each ordered burgers (see pictures) to use our coupon. “We decided to try something new and I am so glad we did! We started the night out with a huge portion of crab artichoke dip. It was so good, I honestly could have eaten that as my meal. My kids did a build your own burger and that is just such a fun, cool option. It had tons of choices for toppings and sauces. The onion rings are the best I've had, loved the thick seasoned batter. I had the baked chicken ravioli and it exceeded my expectations. I'm so happy I have some leftovers for tomorrow. The establishment is clean, spacious and beautiful. Love the big giant booths.
