“Being gluten free and dairy free has made life challenging, but not since finding Holcomb Hollow! I've been a loyal customer since finding them at Green Joe's in Schaumburg. I'v also bought them at Pure Juice Cafe in Arlington Heights. With my wacky commute, I've also been able to find them at Brewpoint Coffee in Elmhurst as well as Conscious Cup in Palatine. We love their muffins, cookies, and donuts so so much. They are tasty and never give us a problem with our special dietary restrictions. They also are at the Mundelein Farmer's Market and offer seasonal special sales from their wholesale baking location in Mundelein. I follow them on Instagram where they advertise their latest products or new flavors. I also keep tabs on which businesses stock them on their IG page because it feels like the list keeps growing! Such a small spot with so much to choose from. We ordered a khachapuri hot from the oven, some pkhali, eggplant walnut rolls- all delicious! There’s also a frozen section with khinkali dumplings and khachapuri to take home. Not to mention the Georgian wines, spices, and sauces available for purchase. “Not gonna lie, I ended up here because my husband and I needed a quick snack, and I tried to go to Choo Choo down the street, but they were packed. When I walked in, there was a long line, and that seemed promising, plus it was moving quickly. We wanted something savory, so we ordered a ham and cheese croissant, a goat cheese and pesto croissant, and a spinach quiche. They warmed up the pastries and brought them out to our table pretty quickly. I was surprised the pastries were so good. The croissants were so flakey and delightful. The spinach quiche had a lovely crust. I completely forgot to take pictures because I was in a rush and starving, but I also saw a security sign that said no camera allowed. I wish they had more savory pastry options with meat, but the ham and cheese croissant was all they had when I visited. I did see that they had sandwiches that could be ordered, so I might try that if I am ever in the area again.“

“There’s no doubt that this is the best ice cream shop in the greater Chicagoland area, however the staff is what makes the experience much more worth it each time we come. We came in a few nights ago and were helped by the lovely manager Zelle, who made my little brother’s birthday 10x better by not only treating him to a delicious sundae with a fun candy face and lots of sprinkles, but served it with a beautiful smile! Her and other staff were having lots of fun behind the counter and engaging in jokes and conversation with my family. This place reminds me Lutz Cafe on Montrose in Chicago but their sweets (two small chocolate bites + rum ball is much more tasty and simply delicious!) Atmosphere is the „feel like home” kind and place has 5 tables. They don’t use plastic utensils which is a huge plus. If you are in Lake Forest and near train station go and experience it!
