“First time coming out to try this type of experience. Everything was great and our server (Ryan) did a great job explaining things to us. He even gave some great recommendations on what to order. I’m a carnivore by nature so this was my kind of place. I forget what the rice dish with the egg was called but I enjoyed the crispy texture at the edge of the sizzling bowl. I went into a mini-meat trance after all was said and done but it was worth it.“

“I’ve been here two days in a row, and both visits were really good. The staff were friendly and welcoming, especially the older lady, who was particularly kind and attentive.

The first day they forgot to ask whether I wanted the crunchy topping, but when I came back the next day they remembered, which I appreciated. It’s a small detail, but it shows good attention to the order.

The poke itself was fresh, tasty, and well balanced, with plenty of ingredients and good flavors. I also really liked the atmosphere inside. It’s calm, relaxed, and not too noisy, with good music in the background, so it’s a very pleasant place to sit and eat without feeling rushed.

The sushi has more filling than just a ton of rice packed around it & the miso soup is stellar. They provide complimentary cucumber water which is super refreshing in the summertime. I came here during prime time Saturday evening and it was VERY chill. If you’re in Bridgeport I highly recommend! I love supporting businesses that value both good food & good service. “I discovered this place online about a year ago and have been a repeat customer ever since. I've done a lot of exploring on their menu and have never been disappointed. Everything is fresh, flavorful & delicious. I'm no foodie, but I know these guys keep me coming back. AND their delivery packing is so freaking adorable!! “This is one of the fancier ramen places I've been to. I ate before I found out about this place so I ate light here, no appetizers or desserts.

I ordered the tonkotsu ramen, nothing extra. It was decent. I liked that there was a section of ground pork in the ramen. It took someone in my party by surprise, she didn't like it.

There WAS something lacking, I don't know what. One of the person I was with ordered it with the spicy oil. She couldn't finish it so I had some of her broth. That was what was missing. It made it a lot more rich, and tastes a bit more thick, in a good way. It could've been spicier with the geki fire oil if you're into that.

There were kids in our party, and they accomodated them well, basically just ramen and broth... The atmosphere was very modern, not like the ramen places I've been to. If I lived near here, I would try it again with more food. It was more pricey than I anticipated. Matched the atmosphere, I guess?“

“We recently visited for my bday on 5/31. The decor is beautiful and the service was stellar! Everyone was attentive and friendly. Our hibachi chef was amazing. He was extremely entertaining and super accommodating. He made our hibachi dinner experience the best we have ever had. The food was perfect and great portion sizes. My son even ordered Spider rolls and said they were amazing! My two teens and 1yr old enjoyed it immensely! Thank you all for the great celebration. We will be back for sure!!! Would need at least 3 hand rolls to fill, depending on your tummy capacity 😆. Was pretty tasty and an interesting experience. Great amount of natural light in the area as the dome was made of glass and let a lot of light in. Can be hard to find the place if you come in from the wrong entrance so attaching a video of how I entered (and guided by the kind security) guard.“

“This hotpot experience was fantastic! The meat quality was great for the price, particularly the ribeyes and briskets, which I absolutely loved. The pork was decent, and I didn’t try the chicken. They had a great variety of green vegetable options, although adding some lemon grass would have really enhanced the flavors. The sides were incredible; they even tasted better than the main course meat and vegetables. It’s a good idea to create your own sets of two sauces: one with green chilies, cilantro, and their house sauce, and the other with sweet tones. These sauces complemented the tonkatsu broth perfectly. Highly recommended!“

“TenGoku is one of my absolute favorite neighborhood spots. I’m a regular at this point, and for good reason. The flavors are consistently amazing, the sushi is incredibly fresh and high quality, and everything coming out of the kitchen arrives piping hot.

We usually order a variety of small plates and sushi, and there honestly isn’t a miss. The crispy rice with spicy tuna is an absolute must-try and one of the things I find myself craving over and over again.

The space itself is such a great little spot near the West Loop, with convenient street parking, and the staff could not be friendlier. Special shoutout to the manager, Sheila, who is truly the MVP and one of the sweetest people. She always makes us feel so welcome.

TenGoku is a gem and easily one of my go-to restaurants in Chicago. If you haven’t been yet, go!“

When we told him we didn't want it anymore, he seemed surprised and said, “Oh, they didn't bring it?” Everything else was great, but the lack of attention after the check was paid left a disappointing final impression.“
