We had drinks minutes after we were seated, orders were taken shortly after and the food was brought out in record time which, for BBQ, makes sense. They were also quick to refill all drinks without being asked to. The food was excellent, slow cooked brisket and pork and their selection of sauces was extensive. Ethos restaurant was a recommendation from a friend and I can see why. If we lived in the area, I could see coming here regularly.“

The food feels not like fast food in that its addictive or amazing but rather it feels homemade and fresh (because he's literally cooking it right there in front of you). It feels less like I've gone out to eat and more like I sat down for my uncle to cook me something wholesome. The portion is generous and fit for two meals, especially since the incredibly diverse/loaded salad and the free fruit he gave fills you up. Chicken Gravy had LOTS of Black Pepper (too much for my liking). Sould tame it down on the Black Pepper on the Chicken and Gravy as those condiments can be added for each persons taste.“

“What a unique dining experience! This Chinese restaurant in Champaign,IL operates on a self-service model that keeps costs down—they don’t charge tips, only a very small cleanup fee.
When you walk in, you grab a menu, notepad, and pen, find your own table, write down the menu item numbers you want, then bring your order to the cashier and pay. They accept both cash and credit cards with no extra fee for card payments.
The menu selection is enormous—probably one of the largest Chinese restaurant menus I’ve ever seen. There are so many options that everyone should be able to find something they like.
Guests also help themselves to tea, drinks, utensils, napkins, and teapots, which makes the whole process simple and efficient. Despite the extensive menu, the food arrived surprisingly fast.
Another plus is the ample parking, making it easy to visit even during busy times.

“I’m very pleased and impressed with China King! From the service, to the food, and everything else. The lady who ran the front end is very sweet and friendly. I felt comfortable when I walked in, and she also helped me navigate the menu. Food came out in just over 5min. I got the chicken and broccoli lunch special with white rice and a crab rangoon. This was just over $10, which is a nice deal. The food was hot, fresh, and tasted excellent. The flavors were plentiful, and the portion was more than fair. I ended up taking some home. I highly recommend, and, I’ve said this about other Chinese restaurants in the area, but I truly think that this is one of, if not the best Chinese cuisine in the C-U area. Definitely will be back.“

“I go here every once in a while. This isn't a place with a dine-in vibe, even if the option exists. The woman at the counter is never friendly or warm, but her husband is kind and that makes up for her borderline-rude welcome. The food is good and prepared pretty quickly.“

“I love this restaurant so much. It is easily in my top 5 restaurants of all time. Jipbap has everything you could want in a restaurant—amazing food, good selection, great service. I recommend the tofu or bulgogi and suggest adding egg! It’s worth noting that we accidentally arrived just 15 minutes before closing because we were unaware of their summer hours and they graciously took our order anyway. Ordering is sometimes a little awkward because the staff speaks limited English and I speak no Chinese, but pointing and nodding and smiling has always gotten me a wonderful meal anyway. I recommend the roasted pork with mushrooms, comes with mixed veg and a lot of savory sauce for your rice.“

I ordered a chicken teriyaki bowl, which had the options of over brown rice, romaine lettuce, or roasted root vegetables. I chose the roasted root vegetables. They were nothing more than undercooked sliced carrots! Four thin strips of chicken breast and a tiny bit of shredded cabbage on top of carrots is not a teriyaki bowl, even with sauce on the side. I would not recommend it, even if it were priced lower than $12.95.

My husband said his Italian hoagie was very good.

“Centrally located, affordable prices, decent selection of food, and everyday has a different drink special - it doesn’t get better than this for a campus bar. Don’t forget to ride the rail!

Highly recommend the fish sandwich. It’s weird to recommend seafood in central Illinois, but trust me, it is so good. Service can be a little slow when they get busy, but I can’t fault them for that. Know how to get the bartenders attention and you’ll get your drink no problem. Overall a great campus bar.“

The food was delicious and the Burrito King Burrito does NOT disappoint! Very large, very tasty and so much food! I would highly recommend!!“
