This year, my sister—who lives out of state—sent our father a Starbucks e-gift card for Father’s Day. Since he’s currently homebound and unable to get out, she sent it to me to pick something up on her behalf. I stopped by the Starbucks in Crete, IL, and let me tell you… they did not disappoint.

From the moment I drove up, I was met with genuine kindness and outstanding customer service. I explained the situation to the barista (I wish I had gotten his name!), and he went above and beyond to help me create a thoughtful surprise for our dad.

He carefully packaged the order, added extra touches to make it feel gift-worthy, and even used regular tissue paper in the most creative way—transforming it into something that looked just like gift bag filler. ✨That level of care, thoughtfulness, and creativity didn’t go unnoticed. 🥰My sister was blown away by the presentation when I sent her photos.

Thank you to the Crete Starbucks team for your compassion, professionalism, and for making a long-distance gift feel so personal and special. It meant the world to our family.

I was casually scrolling the internet (as one does 🤦🏽‍♀️), and a content creator swore by this McDonald’s hack: Order a McChicken, add cheese and Big Mac sauce. She promised it would be delicious—and guess what?

She was absolutely right.

Those simple tweaks transformed a basic sandwich into something almost gourmet! The Big Mac sauce added just the right tang, and the melted cheese brought it all together. Very, very tasty.

I do not recommend this Starbucks if you have hypoglycemia. New Lenox doesn't like to think hypoglycemia exists just diabetes. I will never ho back there again for an iced coffee. “Been going to this place for years with my family. Decided to drop a great review. Skyline Restaurant always had a nice homey atmosphere. Spacious dining areas. Always families eating and enjoying themselves. Our waitress named was Jamie. She was a sweetheart. Very attentive and a very sweet spirit. We ordered the Belgian waffle with the side of eggs and the country fried steak. Everything was amazing as USUAL!“

“Excited to try the empanadas at Empanadus in Homewood on Ridge Road. It is a nice cafe and eatery offering a variety of empanadas for all dietary needs. They are served very warm and the type of empanada is branded into the outside crust. They are a good sized portion and the filling can be tasted with each bite. I bought a variety and it was easy to identify which one was beef, sausage, spinach, vegan, etc. they also offer a variety of coffees too. Would definitely suggest you give it a visit.“

I do see how busy they are and I completely understand it's out of their control on how busy it gets, but I hope it does get better. I am so disappointed that I had to repeat my order three times; I should have checked the drink before leaving the window. I live in Cleveland and placed an order here to provide coffee and donuts for a local non profit. The order was picked up the next day, but the receipt was not. I needed the receipt to submit to my company for an expense report. Alicia reprinted it, took a picture and sent it to me. I was so grateful! I did stop in the next day on my way to visit the non profit. It was a wonderful atmosphere of hard working and busy employees. It was clean and there was nice music in the background. I spent about an hour working there using their internet. It felt like home and everybody made sure I had everything I needed. Of course the coffee was delicious! It’s Dunkin! And a lot less expensive than another coffee place! I love that they offer healthy options such as turkey bacon sandwiches.
