“We wanted Italian food and we decided to go on the hill to Zia‘s. We ordered pasta dishes, which was extremely nice portion size. The bread was delicious when you dip it in olive oil. I also had the French martini which was delicious. I think if you have a taste for Italian food pasta, you couldn’t find a better place.“

“I have been wanting to get here for several years, and we finally made it, tonight, to Anthonino's Taverna, a short distance from Rob's place. (Fun fact, this place has been spotlighted twice on Guy Fieri's Food Channel Show. I can now see why. 🥰) Well, I wish I had made it here sooner. But, that's behind us, and tonight was a delicious, and delightful night. Our waitress, Bailee, had the excellent insight to know it takes awhile to decide on a drink, and dinner choices. It doesn't matter if you read the menu online or not. Changes are always added. She gave us the grace to settle in for a few minutes. She gave us enough time to settle in so we could make our choices. Rob had a Kona Wave draft, and I had a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. Bailee brought us bread made, and baked on The Hill with great quality olive oil, and herbs for dipping. Rob ordered the lasagna, and I opted for the Tutti de Mare with seafood, garlic, butter, and olive oil. My dinner was delicious, and made with freshly made pasta, and a perfect mix of perfectly cooked wild caught seafood of mussels,shrimp, clams, and squid. Rob's lasagna also featured freshly made pasta sheets, Anthonino's red sauce, sausage, ricotta, and mozzarella cheese. I tasted it, and it's your pick here if you love lasagna. Homemade taste that brought me back to my grandmother's and my mother's tables. 🥰❤️ I also felt welcomed, and comfortable as soon as I walked through the door. “⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pictured below is the Gonzo calzone- Salami, dates, spinach, garlic herb cheese, mozzarella, mascarpone-ricotta blend, and garlic oil with garlic butter on the side. My husband looked at me like I was crazy when I read off dates but the slight sweetness against all of that savory is what made it!! We also tried the Fatty B, Meat me in St Louie, Magic Carpet Ride, and the Gyro. They were all amazing but the Gonzo and the Gyro were my favorites. The Magic Carpet Ride is also a must try if you're into mushrooms.“

From the old world style, Italian atmosphere to the delicious food, the great wait staff and Dominic himself going around to all the tables carrying on conversation making sure everyone is having a nice time. And if you are lucky, you might get a chance to listen to his beautiful voice from time to time. We also enjoy the valet parking. It is a top-notch restaurant with the kind of feeling that you just don’t get in this world anymore. We go because it feels like for a few hours we’ve got to escape into a small part of Italy. 🇮🇹 It has what a lot of restaurants just don’t have anymore no matter how fancy the decor. “Robin and I ate here Friday night (5/3). We were immediately seated outdoors in the lovely courtyard, flanked by a large, ivy covered wall. Every bite we had from the salad, Brussels Sprouts, Burrata, Wild Mushroom Risotto, and their award winning Amaretto Pie was better than the last. “Food is amazing, atmosphere is very nice, service staff are wonderful! Recommend the asparagus & prosciutto, pistachio goat cheese, bruschetta, their antipasti plates are all good! Also the house mixed greens is fresh and delicious, and they have amazing pastas and entrees. Our favorites are the Ragu alla Bolognese, fettuccine tres amici, tortellini with cream, the salmon is the best ever, and their steaks are fantastic. And you have to have an espresso martini. Definitely recommend. Sit on the patio if it’s nice out, it’s beautiful.“

“There was a minor mistake on my sandwich and they were super super quick to fix it and even sent me home with the other sandwich. There is a small line when you arrive for lunch, but it moves very quickly… I highly recommend checking this out the bread is delicious as well.!“

The only complaint is I can’t have them on Sunday! :( We’ve tried to go back to other sandwich shops on a Sunday and it never compares to Gioia’s. Stumbled in off the street for a bite to eat during the Lafayette Christmas home tour. I’m beyond happy that we did.

Every single thing we ordered was so good that it almost makes you sad to eat it - knowing you’ll run out eventually. It made me savor and appreciate every bite.

The bread service was my favorite thing by far. It’s a Tuscan style focaccia called schiacciata which is thinner, chewier, and crispier. Served with high quality olive oil and house made pesto. I could annihilate multiple loaves in one sitting.

Most impressively is the open kitchen that you see as soon as you walk in. The executive chef, herself, is manning the helm and making everything fresh to order. A sight to behold.

This is a place worth making a special trip even if you live an hour away.“

“Carmine’s is my favorite steakhouse in St. Louis. I have been a loyal customer at all of the Lombardo family restaurants my entire life and Carmine’s is simply the best. The atmosphere is welcoming and the food is always 5 stars, never disappoints. I recommend eating here before/after a downtown event or game because the location is prime and has easy access to the highway. I always use their valet parking to avoid traffic at other downtown parking places.“

“I grew up going to Montebello’s. Last night I went back to check it out after many years away. It did not disappoint. The new owners have kept all of the vintage charm but added a brighter, lighter ambiance. The food had all my old favorites, especially the T-Ravs and pizza. There were several new additions that I will try on a return visit. Good job Tanya!“

“Came for brunch, the French toast was delicious but they only had breakfast syrup, no maple syrup. For such delightful French toast they really should have something better. It was busy but not packed when we there but even though it was not a full restaurant it was extremely loud, hard to even hear the person across from me talking.“
