“Mr. Submarine is so much better than some of the other competitors out there. Specifically that one team with the green and yellow colors. Their bread is second best to my favorite red and black team, and the service is a little more helpful. I have heard that other locations can vary in quality, but when my local Polish deli has closed, I come here for a decent sandwich. The employees are always patient with you and make sure you're comfortable with your decision on toppings before they actually place them on your sandwich. I definitely feel like their vegetables are fresh, and the meat is tasty, but not top quality. Again, I am comparing a chain to Euro-style sandwiches. I'm not expecting top tier, but I am definitely happy with the sandwich I get, which is always the Mr. Sub. This location is hidden in a Mobil gas station, which I would have never found had I not searched for places to eat in Fox Lake. I barely know the area, having moved here from Chicago. Definitely check them out. What's also cool is that if there are other incidentals that you need from the gas station shop, it's there for you to purchase along with your sandwich. Love it!“
“Two polite, friendly guys working the counter. Clean (women's) restroom and clean seating area. Enjoyed a new-to-me teriyaki beef sandwich. Wish Subway had a couple low-calorie, low-fat sandwich options. (Glad they post calorie counts on the menu board. )“
“Ok so first things first this was my first visit..... the Owner is awesome!! The employee that made my samich was awesome as well ! Now for the food... the samich was darn good and filling the pasta salad and tater salad was homemade and you can tell! Reminds me of a typical neighborhood deli in Chicago. The meatballs are a MUST! and are homemade. I suggest everyone swing by and try the great food and if yur new ya get to spin the wheel o stuff for a treat or discount on yur next visit! “So I got a sandwich from here on the way to an appointment with my son. The sandwich was made fresh order. Nothing pre-sliced or premade. The food is delicious. Have a cute little deli with lots of options. Definitely a nice local spot that I like to see stick around, I do like all the stuff they had in the store. I do plan on going back to try some of the products to make it home but sandwiches are good. Definitely recommend going and checking this place out and supporting some local. The staff was friendly and attentive to my knee. It was the first custom of the day.“

“I’ve been here 3 times now, and each time I’ve been greeted with smiles and kindness. The owners are very kind and welcoming. To make this better the scenery is very cool! Seeing the massive collection of antique Coca-Cola products is amazing, not to mention the food is amazing quality for its low prices. However, it could use a bit more lights to mark the entrance driveway.Once we entered, we were curious with how the food would be. Other reviews appear to wonder about this as well. The interior atmosphere is filled with antiques and charm. The video slot machines is what I believe give reason for pause. The very reasonable prices might even make folks wonder as well! :-)When the food arrived, we didn't have to wonder anymore. The ribs, the salad, and the hot dogs we ordered were all excellent!Now that we're over the hump of wondering, you'll want to come back more and more. The price AND TASTE will not scare you!“
“The sandwiches are always ???. They hook it up fat. I only need a mini and I’m good to go. They play really good music and management needs to know how excellent the staff here is. “Best Subway ever! Sandwich makers know their craft and even though this corporate location is farther than others, I make the drive for the outstanding service. I have ordered there many times and have yet to be disappointed. Sandwiches are consistent and well crafted. I highly recommend this Subway amongst the sea of mediocre locations, this one really stands out and all other stores should follow their lead. “We had an unexpected death in the family yesterday; we were going over to her home and I decided to call Twin lakes Subway hoping to bring some for people there; I asked if I could order a couple of platters and other items immediately. I spoke with a very kind, patient female employee who told me they'd get right on it . We quickly got ready to go and when we arrived at Subway, they were just finishing up our order. “Food was good and fresh. I ordered the chicken Philly in a bowl (it was sautéed with peppers and onions, but said nothing about jalapeños, so it was warm!) I wouldn't have requested them but it was ok. I wish they would have put more lettuce for the base of their salad. It was just a small handful. Otherwise delicious.“
“Giving them a 4 instead of a 5 bcz I usually order off their app and it's hit or miss whether my sandwich is going to be well constructed or not- as in it's not falling apart as soon as yo unwrap it. Still good. Love how friendly they always are when you enter. I will admit that sometimes when I create my sandwich via their app they do forget a couple of things at times.. one time they forgot the cheese, the other time they forgot the sweet onion sauce. Other than that, it's always a pleasant experience“

“Amazing! I'm not from this area and didn't want fast food. Accidentally found this place and MAN am I glad I did! Very nice people who work there. She immediately told me about their soups of the day. Had the Spotted Cow Cheddar Beer soup with their homemade pretzel croutons. OMG the best! Also had the Turkey Swiss Mushroom Panini, fantastic and so fresh. Will definitely be back if I'm out here ??“
