“came here on a date and WOW—I can’t stop raving about it! From the dreamy ambience to the stellar service and absolutely drool-worthy food, this place nailed it. We kicked things off with the carpaccio, and let me tell you—it was so buttery and tender, it practically disappeared the moment it hit your tongue. Pure magic. Then came my main dish: the spaghetti di mare. Picture a vibrant, slightly spicy red sauce bursting with fresh flavor, draped over perfectly cooked pasta and loaded with scallops, shrimp, clams, mussels, and squid—all melt-in-your-mouth tender. My date went for the pork chop special, and it was a total showstopper—thin, crispy, golden, topped with prosciutto and sage. Absolute flavor bomb. We wrapped things up with a crème brûlée that had the most satisfying crackly top and silky custard underneath. Oh—and even the espresso was on point. Safe to say, I’m obsessed. I’ll be coming back again… and again… and again!“

“Love the menu and the food at this place. This is the second time we've been here and I LOVE their stuffed squid. The service was a bit slow this time but we weren't in a rush. One major drawback is that there's NO changing table in either bathroom, and there is no countertop so changing a baby is impossible.

“First and foremost, the staff is hands down the best! Literally the friendliest staff I’ve ever encountered! And I’ve tried a few things on the menu and nothing has been a let down. Usually I regret straying from “the usual” but I never do here. The crab rangoon is the best I’ve ever had, the wings surprised me with how tasty and well cooked they were, the basil chicken egg rolls were bomb (so is the basil chicken over rice), and the Khao Soi is a best seller for a reason!“

Came to enjoy diner here with a close friend, although I will say the food was good overall the prices were out of line for what food was being served at this restaurant. They need to be a bit more conscientious about what they are charging for some of the dishes there, although I love pasta I did not enjoy spending as much on the food there as I did when knowing I could’ve easily had a better meal from a restaurant I would’ve preferred for steak, but this is the restaurant my friend wanted to go to in particular for the breadsticks and soup, fortunately that is what made the visit worth going. The unlimited soup and breadsticks helped balance out the value of the meal.“

“Great little diner, huge portions, and the food was so good. We had the hash plates, biscuits and gravy, their special french toast, pancakes, and it was all delicious. We’ve finally found our go to place to order from! Food is always delivered still warm and fresh. You can choose your spice level and even the medium be quite spicy so order accordingly. “This place is so adorable and everything is fresh. We got watermelon, kiwi, and lemon which were all Delicious especially the watermelon. “We live across the street and have dined in about once a month for 13 years. This is a literal mom and pop spot that has 3-4 people working tops at any time. The “waiter” is the husband owner and his wife owner does the cooking. He gets a bit overwhelmed at times, but is super generous. His wife is so nice and they both love babies/kids. Our children are 9 and 10 now, but when they were young they would carry them around the restaurant. They still give them a special snack at the end of the meal. We love all the soups, japchae, and bibimbap (we’re pescatarians). The complimentary pancake is delicious as are all the side dishes. Side dishes are much better than when I get them at Joong Boo and that’s not meant to be a jab at Joong Boo either. The prices are insanely cheap. This is home cooking by real people.“

“Solid 4 place. Its weird when restaurant's main dish is their name of business and other dish is better...
Like I tried their selleongtang, and this time, their galbitang and bossam.
And their bossam is the best dish for me.
I think the price plays into this factor and also, when you have legendary restaurant in same city that is known for sellongtang, aka Hanbat, its hard not to compare.
Hanbat is much cheaper and better taste.

Galbitang, I also prefer the taste of Joongboo, its more savory and cheaper. Piece of this wang galbi has more aesthetic appealing, but little meat, harder to eat, contains more fat.

Bossam on the other hand, was very nice and good price also.“

“Some of the best sushi I’ve ever had in the Chicago area. The ingredients are fresh and high quality, the price is affordable and the portions are large. The owners are also very sweet. Definitely a hidden gem, I always make it a point to stop by whenever I’m in the area.“

“Thank goodness this place exists. This is your classic Chinese-American take out joint and the food is simply delicious. We ordered two dinner specials and a crab rangoon app - generous portions, hot, fresh, and tasty. Specifically, there is an element of “wok hay” (a Cantonese phrase denoting smoky aroma and flavor) present in the cooking that makes it 5 stars for me.

Don’t expect any level of “service”; that’s not the point here. This is a mom and pop shop operated by weary food industry veterans. Just pick up your plate, quit yapping, and enjoy what you ordered because you won’t regret it.

Friend chiming in: Regarding the service, the woman is lovely. You get everything you need and neither more or less, perfect in my opinion.

Parking: Small parking lot but easy to navigate“

“My Mom and I were looking for a new (new to us) Chinese-American restaurant. Palace Cantonese surpassed all expectations. Every plate we had was delicious and food was hot. The service by Calvin was outstanding.

We entered the restaurant and were the only ones during this late lunch time. We sat in the comfortable and cozy booth (firm for what my back needs). Right away, Calvin brought delicious hot tea and water. The Fried Won Ton, which is hard to find without meat, was perfectly fried, not soggy. The cup of egg drop soup was a generous portion, more like a medium bowl. The veggie egg rolls were large and tasty. The Chicken Szechuan, was like a kung pao chicken and very flavorful. I loved the touch from Calvin bringing extra peanuts without us asking. He also asked if we needed more tea even though our steel carafe was half full. At similar restaurants, I’ve not seen that service.
The final touch was receiving 2 almond cookies (plus fortune cookies), which my Mom and I love.
It’s my new favorite restaurant which I will be patronizing every time I’m in Chicago.

“Nothing to take you girlfriend to on a date, it's super stark abs drab in atmosphere, but where it lacks in looks, it delivers in some delicious ass shawarma, ages you get a ton of food for the money. The last who works at night, she's a doll, crazy nice and so helpful and kind as well. You never leave here feeling like you've missed out on something, they do what they do well.“

I have ordered several times from the main Panara and on a few occasions they have left ingredients out. Just double check your order & make sure it's right.

I order take out and usually off the catering meñu since I have a huge family. Their crab Rangoons are good and Mongolian spicy chicken too it comes with a side of free white rice. I usually order my food extra spicy but if you don't want spicy they can give you some hot oil that is also very great. Cannot complain about this spot at all... It never never has disappointed me. One thing is there closed Mondays=( but either than that the best Chinese food ever . Been to Chinatown and it too beats them ?I love their smoothies too so delicious

Vegetarian options: There's all kinds of options that are only with vegetables. I love their spicy vegetable fried rice and vegetable lo mein!!!“
