“Subs never disappoint, I make it a point to stop here for lunch almost any time I’m in Hinsdale.

Fast service.

Seating is usually limited but did they recently revamp the inside a little.

Parking: Parking lot is a little tight and somewhat limited.“

Kid-friendliness: Amazing kid friendliness. They have “Little John’s” which is a mini sandwich available in Originals (#1-#6). They have some drinks that are not caffeinated such as Water, Lemonade, Fanta, and Sprite.“

“Great cheesesteak. A nice change from the usual gyro, hotdog, or burger and open late for another option besides Portillos in the area. Definitely worth trying if you’re in the mood for a change like I was!! Would only recommend takeout though…inside is nice but the whole place smells like diesel fuel because of the fuel tanks under ground in the gas station lots surrounding Charley’s….only disappointing take away. I’d get a headache eating inside for sure.

Parking: Only a few spots so take out is a better option.“

“I’ve been eager to try Mortadeli since it first opened, and after hearing so many rave reviews, I finally had the chance to stop by for lunch yesterday. Let me tell you, everything everyone says about this place is spot on! First off, the food is absolutely delicious. Everything on the menu is so tempting, it was hard to choose, but I went with the meatball sub and pasta salad. As someone whose grandmother made the best meatball sandwiches, my expectations were high – but Mortadeli’s version did not disappoint! It was fantastic. The pasta salad was also amazing, fresh, and perfectly seasoned. The atmosphere at Mortadeli is incredibly inviting – it strikes the perfect balance between classy and cozy. The staff are very friendly, and you can tell they genuinely care about making your experience special. The service was top-notch, with attentive staff and quick delivery of our food. One of the owners even took the time to chat with us a bit. Another pleasant surprise was the parking – I had my doubts at first, but we found a spot just around the corner with no problem at all. “Detroit native living in Texas I wanted a corned beef sandwich before leaving Chicago. Went in ordered 2 mile high sandwiches for me and my boyfriend before heading to the airport. I wanted to taste the sandwiches to make sure they would hit. I only got corned beef from Detroit and my favorites are from coney islands. We took one bite of this sandwich turned around and got 2 more. The corned beef melts like butter sandwiches are amazing“

“We were at a neighboring business and decided to try this out. What a stroke of luck? This place is great! The menu is divided into 5 sections. Cold Deli, Off the Grill, Create your own Dagwood, Veggie, and Wraps / Salads. I got the grilled Classic Italian on multi grain bread . The bread was substantial to hold up to the meat, but not dry. The sandwich overall was on the messy side, so be ready with some napkins. My brother got the Philly Cheese Steak, we are not from the east coast, so cannot validate the authenticity of the Philly portion of the name but he said it was a darn good sandwich and they did not skimp on the meat. My husband got the cold Ham & Swiss, but the staff offered to serve it hot. We also tried cheese bread with tomato sauce. This was OK. It would have been a fine snack, but the sandwiches turned out to be so big (we each got regular size - the large must be huge!), we really did not need the appetizer. The fries are "fresh-cut," and they really mean it! There is a hopper of russet potatoes (I guess about 50 potatoes) right next to the fryer. We did each have a chocolate chunk cookie (we really only had a bite of it because we were full), they are really spot-on with the "chunk" - the chocolate was substantial peices. A tasty end to the meal.“

“Good place all around. If you're looking for a quick bite, this is a good place to stop. There's a big variety in sandwiches and salads to try, and of course there's pizza and panzaroti made in the word fire oven.

We had a sandwich and a salad the first time we went and they were very good. As were the cookies, and lots to choose from. Will have to go back and check their other offerings. It also has a deli counter with cheese and meats.“

“The food is tasty but I was shocked by the quantity of meat in my gyros plate. It was just a gyros sandwich in a container with fries and fixings. Everywhere else I get a gyros plate it has enough meat for 2 or 3 sandwiches.the subs seemed to be lacking meat as well. Again first time getting it there and was just surprised.“

“Jersey Mike's -Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois. We are super picky about where we get sub sandwiches. Jersey Mike's fits the bill every time. Oakbrook Terrace is our favorite location because of Alicia. The food and smiles she serves is top notch. I'll add some photos in the future but for now, trust me the sandwiches are filled beautifully. Alicia runs the show here from top to bottom. I can't say enough about her fantastic presence. People have unlimited places to purchase sandwiches --- it really helps bring in customers when they can expect to see a long time employee there with such great energy.. We love eating here and I highly recommend.“

“Always a must stop on my way to or from the Brookfield Zoo. I don't live in the area any more, but when I visit I always try to hit up Mr. Submarine. I don't know what it is, because at face value the ingredients are just OK. But when you get that shredded lettuce soaked with vinegar and oregano, and the not quite sure what kind of cheese it is, mixed with a true sub roll and solid deli meat. It's a beautiful thing. The layout of the store is very appealing, and the fact of a 24-hour Subway inside a gas station/mini-mart on a busy corner in a hotel zone with neighborhoods nearby makes the place indispensable. Nice selection of basic phone cords and chargers, along with other expected items. The locals I saw coming and going seemed to appreciate it as well. “Came on Christmas Day, lady behind the counter was very kind. Greeted my boyfriend and I right as we walked in. And proceeded to make the most scrumptious, deliciously packed subs. I definitely would recommend.

“Asked for "everything except no mayo" on my sandwich. Poor lady started by putting mayo on it (probably out of habit since most folks want mayo) before realizing her mistake - even before I did. She apologized profusely and had them remake me a sandwich. It was literally the most minor inconvenience in the world that cost me a whopping 2 minutes of added wait time, but they still snuck a free chocolate chip cookie in my bag. Completely unnecessary but much appreciated! Yay for people who actually care about their customers (even though, again, in this case, it barely even qualified as an inconvenience to me, lol). Also the sandwich was delicious!“

It's been years since I was last excited to eat a Subway sandwich, and I actually order them on a semi-regular basis.
More often than not, the worker making the sandwich doesn't care.
You're given bread that is hard as a rock or so stale, that you can just chip the outer layer off. I've learned that asking Subway workers how fresh the bread is can sometimes lead to a poorer attitude as a result of taking offense to the question. Funny enough, if you're honest with me about it, I will continue ordering from your location specifically, but I digress.
The veggies (primarily the tomatoes) are usually gross or mealy and are accidentally dropped into/left in different trays.
The workers have a tendency to either overload the toppings or not listen.
They assume you want a commonly requested item (being that I hate lettuce, it can be very frustrating when I/they have to pick lettuce pieces out).
They also tend to assemble the sandwiches in a way that puts all of the ingredients right down the crevice of the sandwich, which then forces me to annoyingly have to reassemble it when all is said and done. Nobody wants all of the ingrdients folded over each other along that stupid crevice. It causes double the amount of everything on one side and nothing on the other.

The usual assemblage drives me BONKERS, and the ongoing rebuttal I receive for asking if the bread is fresh is beyond frustrating.

He was fast and efficient, yet delicate and attentive. Provided perfectly fresh, soft bread - which he cut evenly down the side. Assembled the damn sandwich the way it should always be assembled - ingredients added down the flat side of the sandwich, with perfect amounts and spacing between everything. All of the veggies and meats not only looked fresh but actually tasted fresh and yummy (including the tomatoes!). The sandwich making counter and the register areas were clean, as was the whole of the inside. The trays holding the meats, cheeses, and veggies were clean and organized - everything was where it belonged and showed no signs of any veggies accidentally being dropped and left in other veggie trays.

All in all, give this dude a raise because he is a rarity.“
