We also topped everything off with a strawberry soju. Not my top Korean fried chicken place but definitely gets a pass!“

“I am such a sucker for a fried chicken place..I loveeeeee me some good fried chicken. I look for flavor, breading, texture, juiciness, and over all quality of the bird. This chicken was soooooo good! It came to me BURNING HOT..which I appreciate. The crunch was ridiculous in the best way. Flavor could have been amped up (but it was sooooooo goooooood regardless) and the breading wasn't really adhered to all the chicken (the breast in particular and the chicken sandwich chicken). The pieces are pretty huge. The hot sauce it came with wasn't stupid hot, but just enough heat and it came on the side. $30 for half a bird w mashed potatoes. Oh the potatoes....so creamy and pretty flavorful. Honestly worth it. I would get it again. For the drink I had the hibiscus/gin/thyme cocktail (I forget the name) and it was goooood as well, could've been stronger, but I'm a boardline lush, it's not on them lol. The staff was super accommodating and the Veg Thali (sampler platter) was absolutely divine. My friends got the Mutton Thali and Chicken Thali and said it is some of the best food they've had in Chicago. “This was my first experience at a Kosher restaurant. The restaurant was difficult to find but everything else was amazing! The owner (mom) was engaging, funny, & kind. After trying all their items, my favorite is surprisingly the salad with 3 tenders on the side! The salad has a ton of different high quality ingredients. I like getting the citybird vinaigrette but lemon thyme ranch is also amazing. The fries are really good and such a great deal for the amount they give. The bathroom is always clean. There's street parking along Halsted that you may have to pay for, except for holidays and Sundays. Definitely an underrated, affordable and delicious restaurant and West Loop. “I've heard a lot of hype around Nando's and knew I had to give it a try while I was in Chicago, since it isn't readily available on the west coast. We ordered the Spicy Chicken Kale Caesar Salad, 1/2 Chicken and Chips, and a draft beer. The peri-peri marinade is spicy, citrusy, and a little smoky, with the key ingredient being the African bird's eye chili. Since it was our first time, we opted for the mild spice, but there's also sauces at varying spice levels on the side. Overall, chicken was tender and the fries and brussel sprouts were decent, but I think I wasn't as wowed by the marinade as I expected. Perhaps I was expecting something more like jerk chicken due to my own unfamliarity with the cuisine, so I felt like the grilled chicken was lacking smoky, earthy flavor. Maybe it's a flavor that will grow on me if I give it a couple more chances haha.“

“I was just in for dinner tonight with a friend and we had a wonderful experience. I had the traditional chicken sandwich and the corn salad. I asked our server, Kristin for her suggestion on a side, and corn salad was the winner! Amazing choice as I loved it. My friend got the 1/2 chicken and loved it. We had a great meal of fries, biscuits, and dessert. I can't say enough how great our server, Kristin was. She engaged with us, suggested food items, and came back to check on us several times. There are still great people in this world who go the extra mile. It made our dining experience so comfortable and enjoyable. I have not been back to The Roost in several years as life just got busy. “Another "not my first time here, but first Google Review" for this place! Visited a few times during their opening year and once it twice since then. Customer service is still pretty slow. I waited close to 10-min since a couple in front of me switched up their order a couple of times, plus there were technical difficulties with one of the registers with the transaction. During this time, a line formed of about ten (10) people behind me. There was another register but no one seemed available to step up. Maybe the staff could have said something to the crowd. Anyway, I wanted to try their Chicken Nuggets but I guess they don't have them yet or don't sell them here. I ordered a 2-piece Chicken Joy Meal Deal as well as a 6-piece Chicken Tenders (which noted they were new) - both items pictured here. I ordered the 2-piece Chicken Joy spicy and I absolutely loved how spicy it was. I don't recall it being that spicy. The gravy was a bit sweeter than I remembered as well. Chicken Tenders are better than your other chicken tenders out there and so do their sauces (ordered their Classic Dipping Sauce and Spicy Sriracha). Of course for my pie option, I chose the Peach Mango Pie, although I'll get the Ube Pie next time. Overall, I'll be sure to be back sooner than later, and hopefully service won't be lagging.“
