“this is THE ice cream spot in the city. the flavor variety is amazing. i like that they make their own twists on the classic flavors (like balsamic vinegar+strawberry or mexican chocolate), as those twists usually add the extra depth to the flavor. but in case you’re looking for regular vanilla, chocolate ice cream or fruity sorbet- they got you covered. this summer, they also offered sweet corn-flavored ice cream and i still think about it (it’s november). i love that they are still opened through the colder weather months and that even if you feel like gelato in the middle of the winter, you might just be able to get some. while you’re there, don’t forget to check out their ‘day old’ section as you can us usually get pints of pretty much all ice cream flavors (and they sometimes have a promo: but 2, get third one for free). great spot“

“This is a Chicago staple & a must!! I had the grilled cheese with turkey & ice cream and everything was 10/10. Obviously the food menu was limited but hey it was something and of great quality. Looking forward to my second visit & honestly don’t know how I didn’t know about them sooner. The soup was also top notch! & this place has great nostalgic vibes! You can order to go or dine in if there are open tables. Loved the dine in experience even though we waited 40 minutes it was definitely worth it.“

“We came to the mall specifically for gelato while in town for a show at The Rosemont Theater. The gelato flower is *almost* too beautiful to eat, but it didn’t stop us. LOVE that they have organic flavors and no artificial colors!! The employees are friendly and talented. Getting to sample flavors was such a treat and watching them make the flower is mesmerizing. My daughter enjoyed strawberry and chocolate in a cone and I opted for strawberry and organic lemon in a cone, while my husband chose a dish of organic chocolate. We all felt it was the perfect size treat and such great flavors. We wish we didn’t live so far away so we could enjoy this more often!“

“What an amazing ice cream experience! I wanted a little bit of refreshment on a warm Chicago afternoon while visiting the city. Jeni’s was close to my hotel (The Drake), so I gave it a shot.

The shop is in the little triangular park right at N Rush and Chestnut. There’s some pretty outdoor seating with shade, greenery, and birds. There are several trash cans available to conveniently keep things clean and employees were cleaning the glass on the doors while I was there. It’s clear they work to keep things tidy.

I had to walk to the far side of the shop to get to the entrance because they keep the traffic inside flowing in one direction. It’s a smart move for busy days! I was greeted when I came in, and waited in a line about ten people deep. The line moved well enough, but gave me plenty of time to read through all the flavors listed on the menu. I had four I was trying to decide between.

Once I got to the counter, they were eager to let me try the flavors. I was shocked that they use little metal spoons that you then deposit into a dirties bucket for cleaning. That was such a nice touch! Anyway, their friendly service sold me on a double scoop in the waffle bowl. I selected the honey vanilla bean with a scoop of the caramel apple crumble.

Once outside, I found a bench quickly and tucked into my treat. It was smooth and creamy, and loaded with rich flavors. The caramel apple crumble was a little on the sweet side, and the honey vanilla bean balanced it nicely. The bowl was crunch and flavorful, and paired nicely with the ice creams.

If you want a delicious treat while on the Miracle Mile, this is close by and a worthwhile use of your time.“

“Let’s face it. There are La Michoacana ice cream stores on every other block on North Clark. We stopped here for dessert and it’s easily our favorite! The helado (ice cream) is to die for! The coconut is outstanding as is Abuela’s Chocolate. There are regular flavors and some (Rum Raisin!) are so creative and delicious. And the paletas! The BEST Arroz, Fresa, Mango, Coconut...the list goes on. And the couple that run the place are just the sweetest people! Highly recommended.“

“It's good ice cream but very slow service. One staff and she was doing online orders first. I don't love it when store do online orders first and keep in person customers waiting. However there needs to be more staff as one person has to do cashier, fulfill both online and in person orders, and even to unlock bathroom door There is no nondairy product option either so menu selection is very limited. We happened to pass by here and it's convenient as there's parking and kid can see the train from the window. Overall not my personal first choice due to slowness and lack of nondairy options but my family especially kid seem to like it.“

“We are a family of 5 who enjoyed everything we ordered! The service went above and beyond our expectations. While consuming our food we also had the opportunity to witness how everyone was greeted and treated wonderfully. There were games available for the children to play it was very fun for our entire family. Just to share a little more about the level of attention we received my four-year-old was completely terrified of the Easter Bunny I was talking to her about how it was someone in a costume similar to when she dresses up in costumes or princess dresses staff was willing to take off the Easter bunny mask to ensure my daughter felt safe and secure this changed the whole visit for her she was no longer scared still very cautious but not scared and was able to enjoy eating her tamale♥️ I would most definitely recommend this place to others! ♥️“
