“This place is great. I haven’t had bbq this good since I was a kid in the south. Most places around here miss the mark giving you dry flavorless meat or it’s good but portion size is weak for the price. Not here. I spend $30ish and get a proper plate of juicy tips and seasoned whole wings, chunky fries and hella sides. Service is old school, pop in place your order and wait 30-45, but it’s worth it. Be polite and don’t be a jerk, when you make something this good it takes a minute. Open Monday through Friday so stock up for the weekend. Yeah, it’s that good.
Pics: Medium 2 lb Rib Tips and 6pc wings sauce on the side. Both came with fries, cups of Mac/Potato Salad & Coleslaw. Wings had 2 slices of white bread.
Parking: If parking up front is full there is plenty of space on the side street.

“We ordered pulled pork and Mac and cheese for our daughter’s open house. Everyone RAVED about the food! We are almost 40 minutes away from the location and they will have new customers from the Marseilles area. Great staff, absolutely delicious food! 10 out of 10 !“

“In town for a business trip, had food delivered via Uber eats. I had the three meat combo with ribs, brisket and sausage…also had bbq beans and green beans. The ribs were excellent, very tender and could just pull the meat off the bone. Tasty by themselves and even better with some of sauce I used which was a combination of the spicy bbq and also a thinner sweet sauce. Brisket was tender but a little on the fatty side and oddly enough, also a little dry. I ordered just before closing so might have just got the last of the prepared meat for the night. The sausage was just ok, nothing special. The bbq beans were very good and had chunks of meat in it. Love a bbq place that can make some really good beans! The green beans were also very good. Combination of garlicky but also sweet at the same time. With three meats and two sides, could not finish all of it. If i could rate a half star, I would give Doc Watson's 4.5 stars. Maybe on a future visit to town, I will dine in and see if getting the food fresh will take it up to 5 stars. Enjoyed the food for sure and will be back!“

“Had a pick up order today. Was greeted by the staff as I walked in. Order was made much quicker than proposed via online. Brisket - very good. Taste was great and not overpowered with the smoke flavor but yet could still taste it. Put it on 2 pieces of white bread and covered in the hot bbq sauce. 8.0/10 BBQ Mac and cheese with pulled pork at a 3 dollar upcharge - again, very good. Also had the mild BBQ sauce on it. At the very end, I wondered if the Mac and cheese would be just as good without the pulled pork. I think I will try it next time without. 8.7/10 Banana pudding - I am not sure what to say here. I have never had banana pudding before so I was not sure what to expect. Man… this was great. Truly a 10/10. Next time I am looking at the sausage and wings. Keep up the great work.“

“So I tried JD’s today I had the pot roast and smothered chicken. I must say the food was DELICIOUS. Seasoned well and portions were large. I will definitely support them again want to try the jerk tips next.“

“Great service and I thought the prices were reasonable. The food was good but barely room temperature and I prefer food to be warm when eating. The brisket was a little fatty but it had great flavor and was super tender. Great Smoky flavor on the ribs. Will definitely go back but will probably get it to go so I can it warm up at home.“

“Went on Saturday around 4pm. The dining area was full, but the bar area was open. We sat down and were quickly greeted by staff. Our server Tim was nice and very accommodating.
We ordered the stuffed mushrooms, spinach dip, french onion salad, 22 oz ribeye, loaded baked potato, and a side of mushrooms. We ordered Moscow mules for drinks.
Everything was delicious and the service was great. Tim was awesome.
Parking: Plenty of parking.“

They always make it how I asked and its always really good.
Sometimes the cashier is a little stern, but theyre always good. Highly recommend.“
