“BEST TACOS IN CHICAGO“

“I’ve been driving past Taco Boom Truck for what feels like forever, always catching a whiff of grilled meat or seeing a small line of people and thinking, “One day I’ll stop.” Well, I finally did, and man, I should’ve done it way sooner.
It’s a simple setup, parked off the road, colorful, and always smelling amazing. People were hanging out, eating, and the service was quick and friendly. The guy at the window even gave me some salsa tips when I told him it was my first time.
I went with two carne asada tacos. No exaggeration, the meat was so tender and juicy, with this really nice char on the edges. You could taste the seasoning in every bite, nothing overpowering, just that good mix of garlic, citrus, and smoky flavor. The tortillas were warm, soft but sturdy enough to hold everything together (no taco explosions, which is always a win).
The green salsa? Wild. It started off kind of mild, then hit with this spicy, peppery kick that crept up in the best way. It had some creamy avocado vibes too, which made it super addictive. Honestly, I kept dipping even after I ran out of taco.
If you’re in the mood for solid tacos that hit all the right notes, Taco Boom is 100% worth the stop. I already know I’ll be back.“

“this place was amazing! went on a Monday night after work with my boyfriend, it was my first time trying this place, his second. food came out super quick. i got a taco de asada, lengua and pastor. the flavor of each was delicious! the agua de piña was so refreshing and the horchata? outstanding. definitely recommend this place for delectable and quick service!! 🔥 thank you to the staff and our server who was very kind and knowledgeable of the menu 🙏🏼“
“Could be a little cleaner on the counter and table tops but it was lunch time busy. Had the Specials of the Day: Lomo Burrito ($9.99) and Carnitas Tacos ($2.99) and reg price Al Pastor Taco ($3.99). The chucks of carnitas need to be smaller, they were way too big for tacos. The quality of food though was consistently just as good as their other locations. The Al Pastor was especially tasty carved off the gyros like spit.“

“Always a great spot. A little confusion on my take out order (my fault) and they were awesome to throw in some steak on the “chicken/steak platter” I accidentally didn’t specify what I wanted and they guessed chicken. Always a big hello when you walk in. Super friendly staff. Highly recommend to anyone in the neighborhood.“

“Instead of chips and salsa, they serve free chicharrones with a selection of salsa, which were quite unique. The taco was loaded with delicious carnitas. Their menudo was on the plain side but full of tripe. The cactus salad offered a unique texture and refreshing taste. Their corn tortillas also have a strong corn flavor. Overall, this place lives up to its hype. You could also specify which part of the pig you want your carnitas from.“

“Tried these tacos today and I must say.; It’s like having a little taste of Mexico in every bite. From the variety of tacos all the way to the salsas and fresh beverages. Located on Chicago’s South side on 63rd and Talman. Family owned business. 🇲🇽 🌮 🥤😋“

“Insanely good, food made almost scarily fast, and reasonable prices, don't mistake it for a tourist trap just because it's next to the conservatory. Get a burrito with cilantro and onion if you're hungry in the area, you won't regret it.“
“Very good food! I tried the tacos and burritos. Tried 4 meats so far, the lengua and birria both very good! Everything has been very good!“

“Burritos are huge. Don’t recommend the shrimp tacos or chorizo, really salty even when eaten with the rice. Our waitress Guadalupe was rude, doesn’t know how to smile, and kept rushing us. Took a star off because of her.
Really hated that the tip was mandatory with no option to adjust. Tipped almost $20 for absolute garbage service. Will Not return“

“Good quiet Taco place. Tortillas are handmade and big. The carne asada and al pastor meat is cooked perfect with a lil char on the asada. A cash only place but also takes zelle/quickpay. Not too busy but good place if you want a quick but delicious bite.“

“Food was hot and ready. Ordered the taco dinner with cabeza tacos. And they were fantastic and fresh with cilantro and onions. Sauces they came with were also fresh and delicious, no weird taste like they have been in the fridge for too long.
Mexican rice was fresh and good. Beans were pretty decent although the cheese wasnt quite melted but i dont really care about that.
Hopefully if i am back this way i’ll stop and get some more tacos. Thanks!“

“Tom’s Carry-Out has a massive menu—everything from Greek chicken and gyros to ribs, fried seafood, burgers, and Mexican dinners. I usually avoid places with menus this big, but Tom’s proved to be the exception.
I ordered the quesadilla dinner. It was a bit greasy but still tasty and filling. It came with Mexican rice, refried beans (I opted for double rice), and a TomTom tamale. The tamale was a little dry and could have used salsa. My husband had the grilled chicken pita and said it was the best he’s ever had—freshly grilled chicken with lettuce and tomato. I also spotted the Greek chicken at another table, and it looked excellent.
Beer is reasonably priced at $3.50 for domestic and $4.50 for imported. There’s a separate gaming room, which I appreciated since it keeps the dining area quieter. Seating is limited to about a dozen tables, but staff cleared tables quickly, so there was no wait. They also partner with popular delivery services.
Parking is shared with nearby businesses, but most spots seem to be used by Tom’s customers. I’m already planning to try the Greek chicken and Gyros next.“
