“Tried the express menu last weekend for the first time and was NOT disappointed. Vegan birria tacos (made with perfectly seasoned mushrooms) were excellent, though I have to admit the consomé wasn't, unfortunately. But the vegan soul plate was all good. The fried hearts of palm were tasty and crunchy, the mac and cheese was creamy and not too heavy, the sweet potatoes were Thanksgiving-y, and the greens did their job. And the hibiscus and ginger tea I ordered was delicious! I just wish it was less than a 40-minute drive for me, but what can you do?“

“If you are looking for a caterer for your wedding or event BOOK THEM!! The food was delicioussss! We received so many compliments from guests saying it was the best food they have ever had at a wedding. Meghann was extremely helpful & accommodating during the planning process. Anything I needed she made sure it was taken care of. Our day of coordinator Luis was awesome as well as all of the staff there. Everyone was super friendly and always on top of everything. Immediately after the ceremony was over we had a drink in hand and apps in our bridal suite for us. We were blown away by the food and everything from start to finish. We hope to have an event in the future to use them and have their delicious food again!“

“I am a wedding planner and have worked with Hearty Boys several times. When it was my turn to get married, I knew they were my top choice caterer! I NEEDED to have their pork belly skewer at my wedding. Matter of fact, I received an incredible amount of compliments about the food itself but in particular, the pork belly, which was so fun to share my love of it with my guests. Hearty Boys has an incredible reputation for their level of customer service, attention to detail and overall friendly staff. “Kat was a huge help in making our wedding reception happen. She knows what she is doing, and despite the fact that we had a lot to get setup that we designed ourselves (so we didn't have a vendor dedicated to getting our centerpieces and such setup), they did it perfectly and we were blown away when we walked in.
The staff was so friendly, every one of them had a huge smile on their face and made it a point to congratulate us as they passed by our table. And the food - absolutely fantastic (and we're picky!).“

“I had a really great experience with SBR catering our wedding. Everything from the tasting to the actual event went really smoothly and communication was awesome. They easily accommodated some of our special requests and some food allergies, which we were so grateful for. Everyone at the reception commented on how good the food was!
We had: baked potatoes, mashed potatoes, roasted potatoes, Texas brisket, Kansas City burnt ends, pulled chicken, green beans and mac and cheese. We also had their mini salted caramel and key lime tarts! Everything was a hit!“

“It’s about time Chicago gets solid West African cuisine. Dozzy didn’t disappoint. Had the Designer Jollof Rice Bowl and it was delicious. I combined it with a couple orders of the shrimp suya sticks which put it over the top. Now, I loved the jollof, but that’s to be expected. What wasn’t expected was the shrimp. I can honestly say it was some of the best I’ve ever had. The herbs were perfect and it was grilled just the way I like it. I’ve known Dozzy for a long time and I’m so happy he’s sharing his gift to the world. Y’all get some.“

“My husband and I can't say enough good things about Marie's Catering. From the very beginning, Amanda was very helpful in answering our questions, being responsive, and working with us to create a menu that we wanted. We were astonished by how much food was provided at our tasting, all super yummy, and so we eagerly booked them for our reception. We opted for family style so each guest could enjoy all the dishes, and boy are we glad we did! We had DOZENS of guests come up to us that night, and since, RAVING about every dish. Everything being so delicious and cooked perfectly was even more impressive when you consider they served over 100 people. The servers were great and very attentive and even boxed up my husband and my leftovers, which was such a treat we were not expecting. I honestly don't think you could find better quality food, bar package, and service for the price. Highly recommend!“

I was having issues with the app/website and used the chat. Moe was so quick to respond and offered to call me when we were both able to walk through the order together. “We are so thrilled that we chose to go with Food for Thought for our August wedding! We got married at the Chicago Cultural Center, and while the venue has a number of preferred caterers, FFT was the one on that list that stood out to us. From the first phone call to the final calls and emails, they were so easy to communicate and plan with. Many of our guests said that this was the best food they've had at a wedding, and we agree we them! The hors d'oeuvres, salads, entrees, and custom drinks were all so delicious; everything turned out perfectly.
I also want to give a HUGE shoutout to Kacilynn, who was the one responsible for planning, organizing, and executing everything for us. When we met her for the tasting, she happily answered all of our questions and was just so fun to talk and work with. I had countless questions and updates throughout the planning process, especially in the final weeks, and she was responsive to everything.
One special thing she helped with was the champagne flutes; I had thrifted, cleaned, and packed over 100 champagne flutes for guests to use and take home, and I had been nervous this would be a burden to them to deal with, but she assured me that it could be done. She took the time to help me decide on a display option for them, and her team cleaned them before and after the event and packed away any leftover flutes. Her attention to detail and her ability to pull everything together seamlessly is truly unmatched.
We are beyond grateful to Kacilynn, her team, and everyone else at Food for Thought for making the food and drinks a true highlight of our wedding!“
“We had a great experience working with Biagio for our daughter’s quinceañera. Specially with Blanca she is dedicated, honest and always willing to go the extra mile for us. The appetizers, diner, deserts, gelato cart, hot dog cart, delicious! We had all great reviews from our guests. We were able to have an outside organizer decorate the hall for us and they worked very well together which made it possible for us to relax and enjoy the process. All of the vendors were able to communicate effectively with Blanca which helped to make the night very special for our daughter. “Gpay didn't work and I had no physical card. After trying the Gpay several times, I gave up. The manager asked for the drink I was drinking back, lol. I got in the car, saw my wallet in the seat and decided not to go back in. I drove out of my way to try this food, but this experience with being asked for the drink back was shocking. #theapartmentlady“

“Inspired Catering and Events catered our wedding at the Columbus Park Refectory a couple of weeks ago and we’re still incredibly blown away by Liz and her team. From the start, Liz stood out as incredibly receptive and accommodating. This continued throughout the process and culminated in their incredible service on our big day. We truly could not have pulled off our wedding day without her expertise and dedicated work ethic— even more so when we pushed up our wedding by almost a year. Thanks to Liz and her incredible staff, we had the day we had always imagined, put together in two months. We were even able to salvage our outdoor ceremony after an unseasonable cold snap, thanks to an eleventh hour heater acquisition. Our intimate group thoroughly enjoyed their meals and everyone was well taken care of, including two vegans in a crowd of meat-lovers. Inspired’s quinoa enchiladas will forever change how my husband and I see quinoa— it was that good. However, we’re still dreaming about the short rib and potato au gratin we had on our wedding night. That alone should be all the convincing you need to hire them for your next event. Truly, none of us have never been to a wedding where we loved the food so, so much. Carne Asada, Chicken and Al Pastor tacos on fresh homemade Tortillas, with fresh garnishes and homemade sauce and Rice. “We recently placed our second empanada order! We ordered a large variety of flavors and every single one was extremely flavorful and delicious! First experience was not as great as our second. First time we did not cook them properly and the texture was wrong! Flavor was incredible but they were too chewy. Make sure to follow all instructions for cooking and they make a great meal!“
