We tried:-lechón kawa li: crispy, delicious, addictive-scallion pancake: delicious, great to dip in a sauce-beef/chinese broccoli chow fun: delicious combo of crunchy broccoli with tender beef. Delicious wide noodles.-egg rolls: good! but compared to other dishes, not my favorite.A great value-we'll likely get five servings out of this. It's not a fancy place, but I liked to see, when we picked up our food, how the team at the restaurant worked together.Check them out!“

“An excellent Chinese BBQ place run by a very friendly and knowledgeable couple. They really know the art of BBQ and everything is cooked and prepared to perfection. The BBQ chef there had been around for at least a decade back from before the current owners took over the shop.

The prices are very reasonable and the taste authentic. The best part is buying BBQ from here saves me the time and hassle of going to Chinatown.“

“The fried rice is good. However they stopped using bean sprouts a year ago. Fried rice isn’t official without it. Most pics online have it. Service was OK. Took 10 minutes which is fine for fresh food. Fried rice was excellent, beef and broccoli very good and Orange chicken was nothing to brag about.

I drove an hour to come try them out. It was good food. Maybe not an hour away good, but if I lived in the neighborhood I’d be a customer.“

“First time trying this location for lunch. It was pretty average. Had the bbq pork mongolian style. A few portions of large pork but also an entire onion. Pretty average could of done with more meat. Flavor was good might try again in the future but hope for more protein. Very small interior feels more like a take out / delivery locations than dine in.“

“Every neighborhood needs a place like this. It’s a shame the five star rating has become so overinflated because, this isn’t a 5 Star place, but I guess it does five stars at doing what it’s supposed to do. This is a very simple, very basic Chinese restaurant that serves really good food. It’s never going to win an award, but you don’t always want those places. Anyway, we had a great meal there, the service was a bit of a hoot. Our meals were delivered at least 10 minutes apart, but the waitstaff was so sweet and so friendly you just couldn’t be upset over it. Plus, it was just me and my wife so we both nibbled at the first meal before hers got there.

Anyway, if you’re looking for fine dining, this ain’t it but if you’re looking for a good meal, then this would be the place to go if you’re in the area.“

“This was some of the best Chinese food I’ve had in a while!!! I ordered the crab rangoon, shrimp fried rice, and general tso’s chicken. Everything was fresh! The shrimp were big and clean, and the rice was nice and dark! IYKYK 😂. The crab rangoon were nice sizes. They give a great amount of everything— takeout boxes were overflowing in a good way. Everything was packaged nicely to prevent spills. The service was also great. The cashier was extremely kind and welcoming when I went to pick up my order. I will definitely be back! 🤎“

“I grew up eating at Hunan Spring almost 15 years ago, so I stopped by hoping to relive an old memory with a friend after coming from Bensenville. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The lady who works there was nice, but the man was very rude. He gave me the wrong items, and when I called, he hung up on me. That kind of customer service is unacceptable. Be careful with your order and double-check it. “This was my first time in Glencoe to watch a show at Writer’s Theater, and I stopped by this place for a meal before the show. It seems to be the only Chinese restaurant in the entire town and also one of the few places both open at night and relatively affordable.

My friend and I ordered the Walnut Shrimp Special and Sauteed Green Beans. We were told it would take 30 minutes, so we sat inside to wait, and the food came out right on time and piping hot. You can’t dine in the restaurant though, as they don’t have a dining license.

9 times out of 10, Chinese takeout will always hit for me, and Shanghai Garden was no exception. The green beans were flavorful and well-sauteed. The walnut shrimp had a nice crispy texture, tangy taste, and also came with broccoli and crispy noodle pieces.

The portions are large for the price and they also included a large box of rice with our order. For just $15 per person, we had a good amount of leftovers. Overall great value, tasty food, generous portions, friendly service— I would love to return if I’m in the area again!

“I love this spot. Amazing hot & sour soup, egg drop has good strong flavor, the orange chicken they serve is nice and has a nice spice to it. The shrimp fried rice has very nice size shrimp. The chicken friend rice has a ton of chicken in it too. I really enjoy the fried wings (disconnected) as well, very delicious. I love the gravy from the shrimp with lobster sauce, good amount for shrimp for reasonable price. Always get the house sweet and sour chicken. It's superb. I will keep coming back to shop, lovely service fresh food“
