“The atmosphere here is comfortably laid back, making it an easy place to settle in for a meal and a few drinks. The meat was excellent and easily the highlight for me, while the drink selection gave us plenty of options to choose from. It is a little more expensive than some similar places, but the quality of the food and the overall experience made the visit feel worthwhile.“

“Today was my first time there. The food is delicious my kids love it but I don’t feel I had the great service. First, we didn’t get the napkins and utensils on time but way after the food got there. A drink spilled on me (our fault) which made me realized there was no napkins provided, by the time we found the lady for napkins I was soaking wet. Then we were about to start eating and my children needed a fork, well no fork was provided. We ordered 3 seafood boils, no utensils for that were provided neither. My husband ordered an extra drink, never was it brought to us. I’m happy my kids enjoyed it, but we were not that pleased as we saw others being treated differently. Not sure if we will be returning.“

“My husband and I dined here for our anniversary. The owner was very welcoming and down to earth as well as the staff. The food was excellent! My first experience was to celebrate my daughter's birthday in August, the next was a birthday celebration for my sister, and God willing, I will celebrate my birthday in May. But trust, I will not wait until my birthday to go, mainly because I don't live in Illinois, but because I frequent this state, Al Bahaar is on my list of stops & I encourage family and friends to join me! “Amazing smoked beef brisket sandwich with fresh cut fries. Everything was was made fresh and served piping hot. The BBQ sauce is delicious... sweet, smoky and a tad spicy. The portions are large and well worth the money. If in the area again, I would definitely go back.“

“Very nice atmosphere. Our fish dishes were great! My Mrs had a chicken dish. One small piece of breast meat pounded thin with a few potatoes and some peas. It was not much of a serving at all, a bit dried out, and pretty pricey for this entree. The dessert service was just an assortment of shotglass-sized cheesecakes, etc. I'm not sure what we paid for them, but a shot glass-sized serving should pretty much be a gesture of thanks from the chef and the house. Drinks were good but again a bit pricey for the area.“

“This is by far the best JJ Fish in the city of Chicago!! The food is consistently fresh, and the staff is welcoming. I also came in to place an order on Super Bowl. “Ate here tonight and the food was wonderful. We had jerk turkey tips, jerk salmon and shrimp, yam, greens, cabbage, Mac and cheese and fried rice. Everything was tasty, hot, freshly made and spicy. Went with the langostinos Nayarit style after the waiter talked it up, heavy on garlic and totally worth the hype. Brought wine since it's BYOB, just know there's a limit on how much per person so don't overdo it. Salsa on the table is not playing around, respect it. Solid spot for a seafood night.“

I came before they were closing and he took care of me , I absolutely love JJ Fish & Chicken! Every time I go, I order the chicken tenders, and they are always fresh, hot, and perfectly seasoned. You can tell they take pride in the quality of their food. The customer service is excellent—everyone is friendly, welcoming, and quick to help. It’s hard to find a spot that consistently delivers great food and service, but JJ Fish & Chicken nails it every time. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for delicious food and a great experience!“

“I was surprised to receive chicken and shrimp dinner with noodles on the side and it was amazing. I will be back for more. The yum yum sauce was new to me but very tasty. My chicken was very tender and my shrimps were a nice size and cooked perfectly. I had it for lunch on Wednesday and then lunch Thursday and finished it off this afternoon. Worth every dollar.“

“I visited this restaurant yesterday Monday with my family, and I'm happy we came here for lunch!! The food was amazingly delicious!! I got camarones el g-fe, I really enjoyed my plate!! I definitely give 5 stars for the food!! Also, to drink I had a small strawberry margarita, it was yummy!! (Many of the fancy drinks are extremely expensive) On the other hand, service maybe 1 or 2 stars because it was only 3 tables with customers (including my table) and service was extremely slow. Just to come and take our drink orders was about a 20-25min wait. Once we ordered our food, it came in a promptly manner. Our waiter was nice but just that after getting our food, it was very difficult to get the waiters attention. I can only imagine going there on a weekend when it's crowded, I'm guessing on a busy weekend... probably like a 45min or more to take your order. I'll most definitely visit this restaurant again but I will make sure I only go during the week when it's not crowded.“

“The best place you can go for mariscos. Great prices. The only thing I wished was that they opened a second location maybe closer to the southwest suburbs because we have nothing out here. This place would hit amazing! But anytime I’m in the city I ALWAYS stop by. Their langostinos, shrimp, ceviche , agua chiles etc all taste good. And that small little cup they give you at the entrance with the shrimp and caldo ALWAYS hits the spot. Come open a location in OAKLAWN PLEASEEEE“
