I am a nurse and one day I picked up a pie and some cheese bread sticks for work that night and the owner saw I was in my scrubs and such. He asked where I worked and how many people were on my unit and drove way outta his way to provide dinner to us night shifters. Thank You for supporting us Frontline workers! Especially night shift where we usually get day shift left overs!“

“One of the best restaurants in Chicago! The lunch special is my favorite - the most flavorful kabobs and rice (I upgrade to the Kabuli style rice). I also love the Kabuli Palaw (lamb shank). Service is always efficient and friendly. Afghan Kabob is worth a visit even if you're not in the area!“

“Bluegrass Restaurant is a wonderful, family-owned restaurant. We have been ordering takeout and eating in since we came to Highland Park three years ago. The owners take pride in managing the restaurant on a daily basis. They prioritize customer service, great food, and a warm, welcoming experience. Last night, they hosted the Highland Park/Highwood Professional Moms group. We had only expected 15 women to attend, but 25 women ended up coming. The owners and the staff were AMAZING. They brought over additional chairs. They provided us with top-notch service, including separate checks. They respected us when we were speaking to the group and quietly took orders in the background. I can't say enough nice things about this restaurant.“

“I hadn’t been here in a while but after our most recent experience I’ll be going more often. Went for our anniversary dinner. Booked reservations thru Open Table, arrived early and got seated right away in a cozy booth in the bar. There was a card and Anniversary placard waiting for us on the table. We were offered complimentary champagne to toast right away which was delicious. Our server Susan was outstanding and all the food was exceptional. We split a wine flight - loved them all! The pacing was terrific we didn’t have to wait long for anything but we never felt rushed. We went all out for the special occasion with soup, a starter, entrees, sides and desserts but would choose more affordable happy hour options to go more frequently. The menu changes four times a year (with the seasons) and all the calorie counts are kept low for the entrees which I love.“

“We had a wonderful dinner at Prairie Grass Cafe. The spring rolls were loaded with delicious perfectly cooked shrimp and the accompanying sauce (sweet chili with garlic and cilantro) plays nicely with them. The flounder with roasted carrots and parsnip-potato purée was as delicious as it looks. It was generously portioned and beautifully plated. We also enjoyed the mussels with parsley, shallots, and breadcrumbs pasta. My husband is Sicilian and it reminded us of the pasta con le sarde that we love to have in Sicily. The mussels were plump and delicious. The wine list is very nice. We found wines we really enjoyed and they were reasonably priced. We enjoyed the Attems, Pinot Grigio, Friuli, Italy ‘22 with our mussels and flounder, and the Fritz Haag, Riesling, Germany ‘21 with our pumpkin pie for dessert. Service was perfect.“

Once you come in; you are greeted with a warm greeting and and enthusiastic smule by the host or owner. The servers are very accommodating , friendly and helpful. They check on their customers for whatever they need until your meal is done. The busboys are hardworking and any requests will be granted right away. The food/dishes are cooked just the way you requests. Their steaks and eggs are up to par. The prices are decently priced. For what they serve you, good amounts of food. Well worth it. Freshness and presentations of foods are stupendous! Never did I have any complaints the way the place is ran. Very clean. Wide open. Eventhough i live far. I kept going back and i know when i leave, my tummy is full, content and some take home left overs. Check their menu. Check the big breakfast meal. You can't go wrong with their reasonable prices. “My husband and I are visiting from Arizona and were meeting some friends in The Glen. We planned on going to The Yardhouse, but thought it was too noisy. Saw the reviews for The Oak and we were so glad we did. The burger I had was the best burger I have ever had, our friend felt the same. My husband and our other friend had the rueben, they loved them also. We left the restaurant and we were going to take individual pics, then this really nice guy offered to take a picture of all of us. He was so very nice. Guess what, he was the owner. We will definitely be back on our next visit here and our friends will be back sooner. Great food!!!!“

“Simply AMAZING! Ochoa’s is easily one of the best Mexican restaurants in the area. We recently used them for catering (25 people), and everything exceeded our expectations. Communication was top-notch, portions were huge, and the food was incredible. Guests couldn’t stop talking about the juicy chicken and steak, the homemade chips and salsas, and guacamole that could honestly be eaten by the spoonful. “I went yesterday when visiting Chicago. I had never had it before but I went by the recommendations of Skokie residents and I was very impressed. I took 6 desserts home to Kentucky and my only regret is I didn’t take more oatmeal raisin cookies. Those were absolutely phenomenal.“

“We ordered Bulgogi Kimbop, Crab Cream Cheese Roll, Teriyaki Salmon Roll, and Famous Fried Chicken with honey garlic sauce. Everything was very fresh and tasty. The bulgogi kimbop had a generous amount of fillings but I could have used more of whatever delicious sauce was on it. My kids (age 2 and 3) devoured the crab cream cheese roll and the salmon teriyaki roll was slightly sweet and smoky and delicious. The boneless chicken was great. It was so crunchy and perfectly cooked and drenched in the his sticky honey garlic sauce that I was licking out of the package. The man who was running the restaurant (and cooking and ringing up orders, one man show!) was really nice and super kind! The restaurant didn’t have too many tables but the ambiance and decor was super cute and it was not loud inside. I will be back when I’m in town next.“

“The conversation and the energy in the room was lively. The food was great. The service was wonderful. Floor manager swung by a couple of times as did the owner to see how things were going. They were packed, but the food came out in a very reasonable timeframe. We had a great meal. Sorry wasn’t trying myself far too much to take photos. “Wildberry Pancakes and Cafe has got to hands down be the best food I have had in my 32 years of life. We just got home from a girls trip for my daughter's golden birthday in Chicago this past weekend and I'm ready to hit the road to go back. She ordered the kids Oreo s'mores pancakes of the kid menu. I got the 2 eggs meal which came with 2 eggs, hash browns, choice of meat (got sausage links) and either toast or pancakes. I chose toast. We then ordered her 2 dippy eggs, a side of biscuits and gravy, and got a side of bacon to share. The biscuits and gravy are hands down top tier the best recipe I have ever tasted (I ended up ordering 2 more sides to take home so I would have breakfast tomorrow 🤤). Even after stuffing ourselves with this delicious food none of our group felt miserable in any way. there was no belly discomfort whatsoever. We just felt full and nourished. I will be coming back as often as I can. The food is so hot, so fresh, so flavorful, and overall it was a wonderful experience. Everybody was so friendly , smiley, and just warm personalities. There is quite a wait on Sundays (not sure about other days) but I would wait 4 hours if they told me I had to. They do have an option where you can get on the waiting list online (we did not know that since this was out first time). Now let's talk about their preserves they make in house 🫠🫠 they make a triple berry compote with blackberries, strawberries, and raspberries. It was literal heaven. They sell jars as you are leaving for $11. Guys you have to try this place. I'm not usually someone who leaves reviews but it's so good I can't not leave one. If you want the best brunch food you have ever had in your life I can promise you you WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. Until next time wildberry keep doing what you guys do!“
