“We went to Zentli on a Sunday evening. The ambience was welcoming and the waitstaff friendly and helpful. We ordered vegan food which was fresh, delicious and filling. My husband thought the Zentli Salad was excellent. We both had tacos (Nopales, zetas and verduras). We shared the vegan dessert, plantains with a vegan caramel cream sauce, which was quite tasty. We will return , perhaps for a weekend brunch.“

“Needed to kill time while my girlfriend's car was being worked on...we saw this place and decided to stop for breakfast.
This is one of those moments where wonder happens when you least expect it!
The diner counter style seating let's you watch all the action. The, obviously, fresh ingredients that were being piled upon my giant tortilla were becoming a Mt Everest size stack and made me wonder if the chef could possibly wrap it up into a breakfast burrito.
She did...and it was amazing!
I could only eat one half.
Air was enormous whilst only carrying an 11.00 USD price tag.
Absolutely outrageous!

I wholeheartedly recommend Santa Masa!

“Tried the lengua, birria, and chicken tacos. They come with traditional cilantro and onion, finely minced.
The chicken taco was ordered with lettuce and cheese added and my son thought it had very little flavor and added their house sauce to help, which is WARM♡. The other 2 tacos had guac added. The lengua was very fatty. The birria was AMAZEBALLS :D I added the guac and hot house sauce to it and it was perfecto♡
They are all stuffed and it is a great, quick, traditional taco for the price of about 5-7 bucks each.“

“Pollo Express has become my new obsession. I’m there 2-3 per week. I love the Chicken Burrito and the mixed Burrito— Burritos have Jalapeño in them FYI— which can be optional, if you let them know. The burrito I get the Charro beans and the Mexican rice. The Flautas are delicious— consider adding refried beans on top. I love the chicken with a side of rice and beans, as well. Their desserts are tasty too. The staff is super friendly and eager to explain things, and they love being part of the neighborhood. I love that Smokey salsa they have too. I put it on everything!“

Another Chicago gem to visit if you are around the area. “Ever since our former far north side Mexican go-to restaurant had a fire and reopened without the same quality of food we used to love, my partner and I have been looking for a new delivery and eat-in joint. We love how awesome the universe of Mexican food is here in Chicago but a lot of the eateries on the far north side are just kind of meh. Nobody deserves to eat meh Mexican food in Chicago, ever. It took us a year and a half to finally find Taqueria El Charro and we’re completely blown away. I’ve lived in Chicago for 21 years and he’s lived in Chicago almost as long. I used to teach English in Pilsen. Once I had a chance to move back home to New York City and I sat in a Chicago Mexican restaurant at 18th and Ashland and cried because I didn’t want to leave Chicago Mexican food behind. So, this place has some of the best Mexican food I have ever eaten here in my adopted hometown. I don’t say that lightly. You don’t kid around with Mexican food in Chicago. I cannot emphasize how quietly awesome this place is.“

“The ONLY bad thing about this taqueria is how long it took me to realize #1 how close it was to my house, and #2 how DELICIOUS all of their food is!!!

This last summer I couldn't wait to sneak out of the house for a quick taco and a good book and their cute little patio section, which I did every chance I got. The staff are all super sweet. They are a cash only establishment.

My three go-to tacos are:
#1- The Texano - Shrimp cooked with chorizo with cabbage.... the shrimp is always fresh and tasty, and never rubbery
#2 - The Arriero - Steak, black beans, peppers, cheese, and nopales, all a perfect combination with one another!
#3 - The Happy Taco - Pork with onions, jalapenos, and zucchini

My husband loves their burritos, but I almost ALWAYS get one, two, or all three of these options when I go. Two tacos generally fill me up because they do a great job of not skimping on ingredients. The inside sit down area is very small, and looks like it could maybe accommodate 3 people at the window area. Still a perfect to-go spot when it's cold. I know I saw another location not too far away, so I'm curious to check them out as well. I usually walk over, but parking finding street parking doesn't seem to be a huge problem either.“

“I got the chicken mole torta and a taco Al pastor. My wife got a torta Al pastor and a taco carne asada. Everything was so good - the carne asada had perfect crunchy bits, the teleras had a perfect consistency for sturdy but soft sandwiches that held up with the crema and other juices from the fillings. Very generous portions on the tacos, so much that we both had to take half a torta home as leftovers. And everyone behind the counter was super friendly. I hope they’re proud of their restaurant.“
