“We visited Pizza by Sal for the first time yesterday after hearing great things from our neighbors, and overall, it was a positive experience. The food was good, and we’d definitely order from here again.

We started with the chicken tenders, which were indeed tender—we could have gone for seconds. For the pizza, we opted for cheese, sausage, and mushrooms. It was enjoyable, though we think calling it NY style is a bit of a stretch; most wouldn’t notice unless they’re from NY like us. The pie was tasty, but it felt a bit salty, possibly due to the cheese or sauce. The crust was thin and foldable, striking a balance between crispy and soft.

We’re giving 4 stars for a couple of reasons. While the service was quick at first, it slowed down significantly when we waited about 20-30 minutes for our pizza. Our waiter seemed to forget about us, so we had to remind him.

Additionally, the prices felt high—$29 for a 16" pie with two toppings seemed steep, likely due to the "Wilmette effect." They claim to use high-quality ingredients, but inflation plays a role as well.

Lastly, the noise level increased significantly once families arrived with kids running around and using the arcade machines. We suggest the owners consider adding sound-absorbing materials to improve the dining experience. It doesn’t need to be silent, but a quieter atmosphere would be nice. Overall, it’s a place we’d return to, especially if they address these issues.

“This is easily the best neopolitan pizza I’ve had in chicago! Haven’t had anything better honestly. We got the pistachio pesto pizza and soppresata - both were super good. It was about a 30 min wait at lunch time so just make sure you have time to hang out or order ahead. One pizza could feed two if you aren’t crazy hungry, although my husband and I finished one each!“

“I have lived most of my life in Chicago not eating New York-style pizza, but this place opens a few years ago and it is becoming one of my favorites. I still eat a lot of other styles of pizza but for just one quick slice this is a go to. I had a friend recently turn me onto cheese pizza, and that is my favorite slice here. If you’re going to eat here, you have to make sure to fold your slice of pizza because that is the traditional way to eat this style of pizza. I hope you enjoy it.“

“Lusha Pizza serves up a seriously good pie. Classic New York-style with a flavorful, perfectly balanced sauce and cheese combo. The undercarriage is just right: crispy with a nice char. I ordered it to go, and while the crust was a little chewy once it cooled down, that’s to be expected with takeout. Fresh out of the oven, I bet it’s even better. Highly recommend if you're craving authentic, no-nonsense NY-style pizza!“

“Service was awesome and it was a perfect brunch before our bar crawl. My only complaint was the bacon in the burrito was not crispy like it was in the bowls, it was chewy and not charred, so maybe just crisping it before putting it in the burrito would make it perfect.“

“A nice little fast food joint off of Dempster and Gross Point Rd. They serve up lots of good and intetesting pizza, wraps, burgers and more. All of their food is Zabiha halal certified.

Keep in mind there are no tables to eat inside, this is a takeout/carryout only place.

I recommend Chicken 65 wrap, Malai Chicken wrap, and Meat Lovers pizza.“
