“Brought my two sons for my oldest sons birthday and we had a really good time. We played for an hour and I was shocked at how fast it went. We played multiple different games and really enjoyed tic tac toe. The fun part about that is you can steal your opponents spot. So if they have an X in a spot, and you hit it, it goes blank. Hit it again and your O appears. Fun stuff.“
“Doit's Village Inn. What can I say negative about this place. Absolutely nothing. I've been going into this bar for numerous years. And I've always been welcomed with a smile from the bar tender , too the kitchen cooks , to the customers. 5 stars for the food. 5 stars for The cook at Village inn, Mr gravy. One of the nicest men you will ever meet.. I met 2 gentlemen while shooting pool just 2 days ago. And shot pool with them and chatted for 4 hrs and enjoyed myself. I've made many of friends here. If you have never been here then you need to stop in, play there slots 5 stars, have some drinks 5 stars order some food 5 stars. Thank you every one.“

“Halloween weekend - busy place and seemed a bit understaffed as our server was managing several tables as well as making drinks at the bar. However, service was timely,efficient and cheerful. I split a sandwich with an accompanying friend and our server very thoughtfully had split the check and our drink orders without us even asking- very impressive especially on a busy night! We had the Cuban and it was well prepared with crispy bread as it should be. Prices are in line with quality and quantity. Their cocktail menu is fun but most importantly the cocktails taste good. Setting is quite casual and can tend to be noisy. My only negative is I wish they had fries!“

“We were driving around downtown Alton with our moms and stopped in for a drink—what a spot! The inside of the bar has all the things—huge and beautiful wood bar, tables aplenty, TVs playing all the sports all games, slots, and the best part of all: Ricky the bartender, who welcomes everyone regardless of who they are with a warm smile and story after story to make you feel like you are at home. “I love that this place has karaoke and that fact had an impact on my decision to move to this area. The drinks are standard, the menu is straight up and the staff are wonderful. I cannot comment on the food as of yet because I haven't had the pleasure of eating here. “We stopped by for a drink after dinner. First impression was an overwhelming smell of smoke. Apparently the room in the back is a smoking lounge and of course the smell leaks out into the main area. We got used to it pretty quickly. It's not nearly as bad as bars used to be. The bartender was great. Drinks were cheap and not too watered down like a lot of places. The music was at a comfortable level. We all enjoyed it and will stop by again if we are out that way.“
“Excellent dive bar. I discovered, Town Club on Facebook and started following them. They really caught my attention by posting their daily food specials. Double Cheeseburger with Crinkle Fries and Bubba's Taco's were two that really tempted me for my first visit. I went for lunch with plans of ordering the daily special, Bubba's Tacos. However, once I got there, read the menu and chatted with the bartender, I ordered the G-Man. G-Man, is a 1/2 pound, hand breaded pork tenderloin sandwich. It was huge. I trimmed it down to just a little bit bigger than bun size, so I could pick it up to eat. The breading was a crisp thin coating, that had just the right amount of seasoning. It came with a side of crinkle fries, which are my favorite style of fries.I am a big fan of ketchup being served in little cups. For me it is more sanitary then having a bottle sitting on the bar or table. I requested just a smear of mayo on my sandwich. To make sure I had the right amount, the chef gave me a packet, so I had control. He even came to me and asked if it was enough, or if I needed another. Which I didn't, one was perfect. The customer service from the bartender and chef was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was a true old fashioned neighborhood dive bar. It was extremely clean and inviting. Now that I have experienced, Town Club it may become one of my go to spots for lunch.“

“I was there for a few minutes. I’m not a drinker or someone you usually find at a bar but I love the hometown familiarity. Many people I grew up with were there. The owner is a fantastic, tough as nails, iconic type of woman. We need more business owners and entrepreneurs like her. I’ll write more when I have more to say!
