“I love this place. I stopped in one day with my husband and was pleasantly surprised. It's a cute older building but everyone was so nice and the food was good. It felt like the old breakfast diners in the 1970's and 80's. If you want to get away from the aggressions of today's society stop in at Peggy Sues diner.”

“Hi I just want to say thank you for your outdoor mats and dog bowl water and treats! I've been an occasional customer and have never been disappointed with your drinks or service! But I specifically want to mention, I have become accustomed to lots of water bowls downtown especially during the recent heat wave but I realized on an early walk that none are there in the morning before the restaurants open for lunch! I knew I could count on you guys for my pup!”

“Came here at the recommendation of a good friend was definitely not disappointed. Its a smaller establishment so that was tough to deal with as far as anxiety goes, but we didnt have to wair long to be seated! Dexter aka Spicy White Tuna Roll was our server and he was efficient, friendly, and hilarious! I tried the Dragon Egg (what a masterpiece!) as well as the Autumn Lemon Roll (I LOVE lemon and was quite pleased). You get what you pay for here but it was an awesome sushi time!”

“Great food & live entertainment. Just in town for a few days, so we stopped in on Saturday night. Had the pork nachos & Detroit pizza; sooo delicious! Local entertainment was very good & they have board games u can play.”

“First visit & they indicated the menu was new. Has several vegan option. Offers fresh squeezed OJ from machine. Had the Carrot Zinger juice, including carrot, ginger lime & apple. Was really good & heavy with ginger, which I love. Ordered the Forest Hash with mushrooms, leaks potatoes & peas. Replaced the eggs with curried tofu scramble.for $1.50 upcharge. I was a little apprehensive about the curry part of the scramble but ended up really liking it. Was a creamy comforting flavor. There were some reviews indicating portions were not enough, but it seems they have improved this because we were satisfied. Specials included Vegan Blueberry BBQ jackfruit sandwich and vegetable soup. I included a few pics of the menu, but a few Vegan items to note are oatmeal, scrambles, vegan chili, falafel sandwich, portabella salad (- cheese & dressing..have to ask for vegan dressing options).”

“We are on vacation at Indiana Dunes and stopped in at Dog Days today after lunch for a treat. Great place, and AMAZING staff! Our kids, ages 5 and 2, changed their minds on what they wanted a couple of times and the two young ladies working were so patient with us as they took our orders. Very clean and a great atmosphere - My kids loved watching the little train overhead. And of course, the ice cream was delicious! Also, they have a family restroom with a changing table, which may not be high on most people’s list but that can be so hard to find in these little specialty shops and as a family with two littles, having those facilities easily available is just a very nice bonus. Highly recommend :)”

“This woman is an angel in disguise! I needed a sheet cake and cupcakes for my daughter's graduation party. They also had to be dairy free. Plus, I needed it in less than a week. Our original plan fell through at the last minute. My mom contacted several bakeries and they either couldn't facilitate a dairy free cake, or do it on such short notice. Not only was Val willing to accept the challenge, she went above and beyond! She made several trips to different stores to find the perfect colored sprinkles. She and my mom touched base numerous times prior to the party date to make sure everything was going perfectly! She went out of her way to make this cake and cupcakes PERFECT for my daughter! Not only were they beautiful, but they were absolutely delicious! These were the best dairy free cakes we've ever had! The frosting was amazing! We got so many compliments and nobody could believe they were dairy free! That evening we got home from the party, and received a phone call from Val making sure my daughter was happy with the cakes! You just don't get this type of customer service and such personal attention to detail anymore. Without a doubt we will be return customers!! Val, I cannot thank you enough for everything!”

“What a freaking GEM Joe's Bread is 🥰 If you know me, you know I have a slight obsession with this wonderful establishment. From their fresh ingredients they use, to the surprising new treats they make. It makes going in an exciting experience wondering "what are they going to have today" And fresh sourdough... Joe you are the only reason I haven't started making it myself and I'm not mad about it 🤣 It's the best and I love it.”

We ordered a SpongeBob cake for my daughter's birthday. we saw one on tiktok, she was able to duplicate the cake in every detail possible. 5 stars definitely! I also purchased a few cupcakes and was not disappointed. They were great we enjoyed eating them.”

“I stopped into Red Cup cafe this morning and got the #3 egg sandwich on sourdough with goat cheese and bacon. Let me tell you it hit the spot! I had a great conversation with the owner, a lovely cup of coffee, and a delicious sandwich. It’s a gem hidden in plain sight! I will definitely be returning!”

Always PLENTY of staff (more than enough - we often wonder how they keep them all on the payroll). We are always greeted, served promptly and the food is fast and hot. Everyone is nice.

“Been eating here for years and recommending them for years if you want the best burger in Chesteron/Porter area. Some other favorites are the bacon wrapped poppers, steak or chicken flatbread, soups, and the only place I know that still has homemade pub chips. Just had my first ever minor issue with a cook on burgers and the owner addressed it and made it right. I am looking forward to their new bi-weekly specials to try some new items. Gastro 49 customers for life.”

“We met friends here for dinner and hubs and I split a small pizza with tomatoes and onions and a small house salad. It was the perfect size for us! He ate four pieces of pizza and I ate two (one piece was a little bigger than the others), The sauce was a nice sweet sauce and there was lots of cheese with tiny diced tomatoes. We got to choose between white and red onions. We chose red, and they weren't too hot, so we were pleased. They had several crust types to choose from.

The salad was quite big; head lettuce, tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, cucumbers, green peppers, cheese, and croutons, and the ranch dressing was quite tasty.

Our friends split an XL sausage and cheese pizza and it was plenty big for the three of them. It probably could have easily fed four, five, six, depending on how hungry you are.

I believe that pizza isn't as good unless you drink root beer with it. The root beer was soooo good (of course, I haven't had a root beer in ages). This was definitely an excellent recommendation. Next time we're in town, we'll return.

The only issue we had was the volume level was quite loud. The ceilings are high and not finished, so the voices bounce all over the place, only getting louder and louder, and then you have to speak louder in order to be heard by the person sitting next to you, and it's a vicious circle. If they just lowered the ceilings or put in sound dampening panels, it would be much more enjoyable.”

“Enjoyed the 1st floor better last year with the restaurant. Now, overpriced cold cuts and $4 for a couple spoonful's of potato salad. We had never been up to the 3rd floor in previous years since we have children but, now it is open to anyone. Fantastic view, nice selection of vacation style drinks, great tasting tacos and of course, the beach! Worth the 2 hour trip several times a summer. Will be returning for sure............but not on the 4th of July weekend!”
