19 Best Sandwich Shops near Lake Station

“We just stopped here on a long trek home and we received GREAT service from the subway folks and the gas station clerk even stepped in to help because they got SLAMMED. Even so, they were so nice and polite to us and genuinely apologized for what was a very reasonable wait. I even observed them to be very courteous with the next customers in line. Please support the great employees working there today (6/726 1:45pm) thank you!!!!“

“Great Hoagies‼️ I especially enjoy the hot steak hoagie with sweet peppers and the turkey bacon hoagie as well“

“4-5-26 Andy, the manager at the Crown Point location, has the best customer service manners that I've seen in a long time. I had an issue where my card had been declined. He calmly let me know about the problem. My friend and I were able to get the amount of cash together to cover my bill. During that time he wasn't rude or snarky. Not even impatient. He was like 'life happens.' Thank you Andy for being the person you are! By the way, Lincoln's food is always great too. Patty Cogdill“

“Great customer service. Exceptional wait time. Their Lincoln burger might just be one of the best burgers I’ve had if not the best. Served on great French bread, sub style. Will certainly be returning to try their other burgers.“

“Pretty typical Firehouse Subs. If you are in a hurry call ahead. Everyone except me ordered ahead. I had a 15 minute wait. If I wasn't on my way to work it wouldn't have mattered. The quality of ingredients they use is good and the sandwiches were filling ( 1 for nightshift breakfast and 1 for lunch).“

“DELICIOUS. Went here today for lunch and everyone was so happy and the food was amazing. We will 100% be back. My 7 year old daughter already is asking when we can get it again…. Too bad it’s 20 mins away, but well worth the drive!“

“Always enjoy their sandwiches“

“Easy to find location. Drive thru available. Team members are friendly, quick, and accurate, especially the older female who prepared my order. Kudos to her and her ability to smile while performing her job.
Not only was she please, but my sandwich was delicious.“

“I am currently battling cancer and have been in chemo and radiation for the last four weeks. I haven’t been able to eat much if anything, but they found out that lemon rice soup sounded good to me, they took it upon themselves to bring it to me . These kind of blessings will not be forgotten. Thank you so much for your kindness“

“When we first moved to NWI, we first visited Pops when they were located closer to Jewel. At first, when we ordered our beef juicy, the beef was still dry. Over the years, they have gotten better. The beef is juicy, tender, and tasty. So juicey that now, they wrap your beef and then put your wrapped beef inside a plastic bag for take out orders. The beef here is much better than the overrated beef sandwich at Portillos. The large order of fries is enough to share.“

“On 3/9/25 we dined at your restaurant in Hobart. My daughter had a low blood sugar emergency while we were there. Your staff was so helpful and so kind to us they gave us a free cookie and a free drink so her blood sugar levels would go up. They were very attentive to us and kept asking if we needed anything else. Great team that was working that day. Please let them know that they are appreciated.“

“We've ordered a few times online. It's always done when we get there. Last trip was last night. Looks like they were short handed on staff. We ordered 4 sandwiches and arrived early. Expecting to wait. The person let us know they were working on them and asked us to pull forward. They worked quickly. The sandwiches were the best made that we've had. (Not saying that they've been bad before but they have been messy). The young man and woman working there last night (Thursday 9/11/25) were a great team. Hope their manager sees this and lets them know we're grateful to them both!“

“Benita was very courteous, professional, and honest. She went above and beyond while preparing my food and when I gave her an extra $20 she was very swift to inform me that I overpaid and returned it with a smile. She’s truly a great ambassador for subway.“

“This is my favorite location. They have the best bread, everything is always fresh and consistent and the employees are so nice at this one. I have one down the street from me but I drive the extra miles to come here because I never have an issue and the quality of everything is better“

“For the first time I went to this location and the service was fantastic with great people behind the counter. I want to give a shout to blue for making my food with care while making sure I was very satisfied at thr end of my order. I had a steak Philly miawarp with the sandwich being well dressed from head to toe. Thanks you blue keep up the good work .“
