“Chris and his staff from Burgerhaus put on our event for the Valparaiso Girl's Basketball team. It was our end of the year banquet. Because of the size of the party, 110 people, they were unable to facilitate us in their space, however, they were able to use LePeep's space for the event. Chris coordinated everything with us as we went through the planning process. He was thoughtful, polite, kind, accommodating, and quick to help solve any issues. The food was DELICIOUS! It was cooked on-site, was hot and so so tasty! We had sliders with all the fixins, mac & cheese, salad with many dressings, and, of course, their delectable French fries! There was PLENTY of food for everyone. They allowed us to bring our own cake for dessert. They accommodated our screen and other technology that we brought in. Chris and his staff helped us to move the tables and chairs whevever we needed to in order to allow everyone to sit where they wanted and still see the presentations. If this wasn't my daughter's senior year, I would be contacting Chris and his phenomenal staff for another banquet!“

“It was our first time visiting the Viking Chili Bowl in Valpo. We called ahead for a table since we were a party of 6. Glad we did. Even though the place was packed, we had excellent, friendly service. I was impressed that our food arrived as soon as it did. The food was good. My husband absolutely loved the ham. Portions are big. My granddaughter barely got through a half on one of her pancakes. I had the fish sandwich with Onion rings. Sandwich was standard. I really enjoyed the rings. My husband and I ordered the chili to go for dinner. I have to say, I was disappointed. The only negative. The chili looked very processed. Like it came straight from a can. It was an unappealing brown color and it didn't taste good. Guess I had a sort of expectation from the restaurant's name. Again, everything else was pleasant and enjoyable outside of the Chili. We look forward to returning some time.“

“I live nearby this Culver’s and visit it frequently. I also walk around the neighborhood with my dog and pass in front of the store almost daily. When it snows they never shovel the sidewalk that runs parallel to LaPorte Avenue. This is annoying and dangerous. It’s a tiny strip of walk between two businesses to the east and 1st Source Bank to the west, all of which keep their sidewalks cleared of ice and snow. I suggest and hope that for the safety of pedestrians Culver’s management addresses this potentially serious issue. Thank you.“

The burger itself had all the makings of something great: a generous patty, a good sear, and that classic diner-style build that promises nostalgia on a plate. The texture and freshness were there, and you can tell they know how to craft a solid burger. The only thing missing was the seasoning. With just a bit more flavor or a touch more salt and pepper, this could easily be an outstanding diner burger.

Still, Schoop’s nails the experience. If you’re in the mood for a lively throwback diner with character and charm, it’s worth stopping in — and with just a slight improvement in seasoning, their burgers could truly shine.“

“Parea is very good for an upper scale restaurant in downtown Valpo and could very well be my local favorite for a sit down dinner. The service here has always been very good and the servers seem like pretty down to Earth individuals (at least those I've spoken to). The atmosphere is very nice and the bar area is no exception. The food is the real show here and it (Mostly) never disappoints. The food is about what I'd expect, it's very good, but oftentimes I feel like it's lacking a little something that makes it really shine as opposed to other high end restaurants I've been to in other towns. It's also pretty pricey which is expected for a restaurant of this caliber, but with that high price comes an expectation that the food will be excellent. And for the most part, it does not disappoint.“

“Absolutely outstanding customer service! We ordered delivery tonight and initially thought we had received another customer’s order. I contacted the restaurant right away, and during the conversation we realized the mix-up was actually on my end — I had mistakenly ordered the wrong item, and the order we received was in fact correct.

Despite this, the manager went above and beyond to help troubleshoot the situation. Because their delivery is handled exclusively through Uber Eats, he personally worked through options to see how we could still get the items I originally thought I had ordered. Once we figured out how to get the items to me, took the extra step of placing a follow up call to me directly to make sure I understood that the correct items would be coming and that everything was resolved.

What could have been a frustrating experience turned into such a positive one thanks to the manager’s patience, clear communication, and genuine care for the customer experience. We ended the evening feeling truly taken care of and extremely impressed. Food was great, but the customer service was even better — we will absolutely be ordering again!“
