“****Edit: Somehow my "does NOT recommend" was changed to "recommends". I do NOT recommend for group gatherings.*** I made a reservation for a work party and was told they do not like to book reservations on Friday nights, especially for parties larger than 12. That was right around what I was expecting; although, I may have had a few more. I made sure to get RSVPs from folks so I could pivot to a different location and cancel, if necessary. We ended up having 11 folks total in our party, so it worked out. The Bryant sent me a text the day before the reservation to ask that we keep the reservation limited to 2 hours or less (this would have been nice to know when I had booked ~3 weeks prior). Move to the day of: I got there around 20 minutes early thinking they could seat me at the table, if it was ready, or at least seat me right at 6 pm, since that was the time the reservation was for. The hostess informed me that they would not seat me until at least half of my party was there; so, I went to the bar area and had a drink while I waited for other folks to arrive. The bar staff was friendly and prompt. I closed out my tab for the one drink and moved back to the hostess area around 5:50, when I expected other folks to start arriving. I sat on the couch, and the first few folks started trickling in. I informed them of what I was told, and we waited until there were 7 of us there before I approached and told the hostess that over half of us were present (around 5:59). There was another woman at the hostess stand, whom I'm assuming was a manger with the way she was moving about the establishmen, who asked me when I expected the rest of our party to arrive. I told her I expected everyone there within a few minutes. She informed me that they would start getting waters on the table and then they would seat us. I found this a little odd; but, it wasn't a deal breaker. We ended up being seated about 10 minutes after our reservation was scheduled for. Again, I am flexible and understand that plans might need adjustments from time to time. Maybe they hadn't put the tables together yet, for all I knew. We got seated and the waitress got our drink and appetizer orders in. The waitress did a good job taking care of the large party and did what I needed her to with the bill (splitting it into two bills). Our food was delicious and the drinks were good. She was observant and was quick to get boxes for us as meals were finished. There were a couple desserts ordered: they arrived quickly and were delicious. Plates were being cleared around 7:50. A few folks may have wanted to order another drink or two; however, the lady manager proceeded to stop at our table around 7:53 to tell us they had another reservation at 8 and we needed to leave. Had they not delayed seating us and gave us a full 2 hours, I likely would not be leaving this review. I found the management rude for the amount of money that they were making in the hour and 45 minutes that we were there (over $550 was spent). In my opinion, kicking customers out of a dining establishment is not a good way to keep business. Although the wait staff and food was overall good, I do not intend on booking another group event at The Bryant: nor can I recommend it to anyone looking to book larger group events.”

“Tried the Wang Chuan grilled whole fish, the hot pot and the rice cake. The hot pot's seasoning was good. Also the gravy of the fish curry was good too. However, the peppercorn's flavor was too strong. The rice cake was a good dessert to end with.”

“My friend and I were at Homestead for lunch today. Our first time. And now our favorite place. Freshest salad bar with all the fixings and more! Dessert was fabulous too. Clean, friendly, and delicious to boot. You can also purchase frozen meals, pies, cookies, sauces, pretzels, etc al. and continue enjoying in privacy of own home. Definitely a place for ladies ( and gents) who like to lunch.”

“We have been to numerous Indian restaurants throughout USA, but this is undoubtedly the best among all of them. The onion samosas were so scrumptious and flavorful that they felt better than meat samosas. The chicken noodles (street style) and lamb biryani were also amazing. The lamb biryani had lots of lambs and truly delicious, significantly different than typical Indian lamb biryanis. This place is slightly expensive compared to other local Indian restaurants, but the serving size is almost double, so it’s worth the price. And most importantly the meats are all halal.

“When I’m craving froyo and don’t want to feel too crappy afterwards, I go to Red Mango. It’s based on healthy yogurt and probiotics, and has an Asian spin which I enjoy. Particularly the taro flavor. The toppings are nice as well. My only note is the froyo can be a bit loose, but the flavor is good. The store itself is a bit small, but since it’s located on campus, it’s nice to sit outside and eat. I also haven’t seen it super busy, so there’s typically a place to sit. Overall, it’s a great way to satisfy your sweet (but not too sweet) tooth.”

“Easily the strongest coffee program in Lafayette, in terms of bean selection (including a fun co-ferment?!), drinks, barista training, and equipment. Visited multiple times over the course of a week and they nailed the drinks and the service every time.

Beans are roasted in Carmel, IN and are done fully in-house. They are neither private labelling nor do they roast via bellwether.

Cortados and pourovers were on point and served in real glassware, rather than just to-go cups. I wish the Colombia pourover had more extraction, but the other pourovers were still prepared well.

The shop does not feel like a library, despite being study/work friendly. You can have conversations without it being awkward. Modern third-wave shop vibes.

The location on Google Maps takes you to the rear of the shop, as a heads up. There’s ample parking in the rear lot.”

How cool to finish your meal with light and sweet funnel cake fries or enjoying a cold beer. “I live nearby to this Chinese restaurant and have done pick up for my family of 8 a couple dozen times or more over the years. They have good and very good food depending on what you order and although inflation has made them seemingly a bit pricey every restaurant that I have gone to has gone up, so I will say it has "relatively" good pricing. They are friendly and have always accommodated our orders for non-spicy (kids) and no sesame (allergy in the family). They are one of the three locals we frequent and my favorite of the three.”

“Fuel is awesome. I spent over 5 years at Purdue and Fuel on Northwestern Ave was a fixture throughout my PhD. So much so that it earned an honorable mention in the acknowledgements section of my thesis. The coffee is always great and so is the food. I have bought many packs of beans from them too (emphasis on the word many). I was back in West Lafayette this weekend for the commencement and had lunch there with my parents. As always, the food was delicious. Whenever I come back to West Lafayette, I'll be back at Fuel for at least a coffee and Zucchini bread. I urge you to do the same.”

Ordering in advance was super easy and the staff and management was super accommodating of vegetarian and allergy orders. So many options to choose from. Before visiting, it was a little confusing to try figuring out how this location worked and what to expect.All Wined Down is connected to All Fired Up (two separate entrances but the same building with a door connecting the two inside).You can choose to visit the "All Fired Up" side of the business and only paint your ceramic piece or you can pick out your piece and sit on the "All Wined Down" side and enjoy wine (by the bottle or glass) and/or cheese platters while you paint your ceramic piece.We arrived on a Saturday as soon as All Wined Down opened, and spent 3 hours there (the time flies by). Unfortunately, they had sold out of the cheese plates the night before so we were unable to buy any food. There is a selection of wine (sadly no beer) that is decently priced.It would have been nice to see a partnership with local wineries and breweries (for example Wildcat and Thieme and Wagner Brewing Co).There is a large selection of ceramic items to choose from and every color you could think of for your creations. The staff is all very friendly and knowledgeable and you don't feel rushed to complete your piece.Items are ready a week later and they will hold them for several months in case you aren't able to return that quickly to the area.It also would be nice to have the option of high top tables for those customers who are taller, so you don't have to hunch over the table for such a long time.Overall, a great experience and we will be returning with friends to create more pieces.”

This team was obviously very busy but they busted their butts and executed on our very large, last-minute order very efficiently and courteously.
