“One of the top restaurants in all Baton Rouge. Also, one of my favorite restaurants in the entire United States. We started coming here back in 2001 and this place has not changed. The food quality continues to be excellent and the atmosphere is hard to beat. Keep up the good work and I’ll definitely be back next time. I’m in Baton Rouge. The Ponchatrain is one of the best main courses I’ve ever had. The eggplant Ponchatrain for an appetizer or hush puppies are hard to beat. You finish it off with a bread pudding and you will not regret any part of your meal.“
“Have eaten here many times. Had Easter lunch there and was fantastic. Blackened redfish was one of the best meals I have ever eaten and Janice is worth the price of admission. Excellent overall dining experience. Would definitely recommend!“
“All of the staff here are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the food is pretty good. The fries are delicious. We've come here a few times and every single time without fail we're treated with a genuine kindness that you'll find hardly anywhere else. 10/10 I love coming here“
“Eliza is a hidden gem of Baton Rouge and features exquisite modern cuisine for South Louisiana palates. My experiences there having the fish sandwich and fresh the redfish with risotto make me want to come back and try the whole menu. Chef's kiss.“
“My husband and I went for Valentines Day for the all you can eat crawfish. The service was excellent, the food was delicious. I have been to a couple of all you can eat seafood restaurants and this by far has been the best service. Even the corn and potatoes were seasoned. Thank you guys for an amazing Valentines Day.“
“Very friendly service and the wait staff is very tentative, checked on me frequently and never let a glass go empty. I went during March madness and the atmosphere was simply amazing, definitely very lively. The food was simply amazing and fresh, I will definitely go back if I’m ever in the Baton Rouge area.“
“How sad - DO NOT order delivery from this location. I am visiting and love door-dash for moments like this. My order WAS NOT complete - the $8 cheesecake was NOT included, nor were there napkins or plastic ware or paper plate - so I had to resort to eating out of the bag. After waiting 45 minutes for the manager to call back to merely resolve the order, I had no resolution. Now - the restaurant will not answer my phone number. Food was fine - yet part of the 'atmosphere' of enjoying the popular shrimp boil is having everything you paid for, and utensils to enjoy it!“
“Have had several lunches, frozen meal items and ordered catered meal for Christmas. This business runs like a well oiled machine. The employees are like family and you will become a part of it. The food is cooked with attention and care as it is always consistently good. Check out the deserts and wine selections as well. A hidden gem.“
“Extremely rude workers. They delete comments if they don't like the review. We had a party of 10 and waited like they asked then they tried to seat us at a table for 6 people. Five people would be piled on top of each other on a booth. asked to add a table ( there were 3 empty tables right by us) they said no but we could wait an additional hour for a table. asked for manager and a girl comes out saying she is manager. No apologies no nothing. We did call ahead and were told no same day reservations but they had a big enough table to accommodate us. I have been reading reviews and there are a ton similar to our experience. It's starting to seem they do not want to accommodate large parties and try to make the experience so unbearable that they eventually leave. We ALWAYS tip over 25 percent even when service sucks. Their loss!!“
“Tony’s is an old staple in Baton Rouge, it’s been around for as long as I can remember. You can get several different types of seafood, boiled, fried, baked, broiled, etc.. Also they serve dishes that are not seafood. And don’t forget to look at their frozen dishes to bring home.“
“Fine dining at its best! Stop in and enjoy seafood and steaks cooked to perfection, or you can choose any way you would like it prepared. Everything is alacart, so the combinations are endless. Overall, the experience from start to finish was superb!“
“It's a little hole in the wall shop that has a very small menu. Therefore, what they do make is phenomenal ??. I have a Gluten intolerance so I got the Cheeseburger salad without croutons. The burger was cooked to perfection. My brothers love coming here for the traditional burgers as well.Dietary restrictions: They looked into their fries for me. They fry battered and non-battered separately but that means the fries go with the egg rolls with have gluten ?♀️. But the salad was beautiful (with amazing romaine)!“
“The food was amazing. We enjoyed the Sunday brunch menu which included the French onion soup, fried oyster salad and for entrees we ate the New Orleans Crab Cake Benedict and Short Rib Benedict. The manger was so gracious as to give me a small bottle of champagne to take home since all the desserts were made with chocolate and I am allergic. We will definitely be back for the dinner menu. Fantastic table side service, beautiful ambiance and excellent master chef food.“
“At Ethel’s Snack Shack, my lunch experience surpassed expectations. The food, expertly crafted to order, was a delightful blend of flavors that left my taste buds thoroughly satisfied. The staff's warm greeting and prompt order-taking added to the inviting atmosphere. The camaraderie among patrons created a welcoming vibe, making me feel right at home. As I savored my meal, the attentive service continued with a timely delivery of piping-hot dishes within a mere 10 minutes. The repeated inquiries about my needs demonstrated a level of customer care that didn't go unnoticed.A standout feature was the thoughtful disposal service – rather than searching for a waste bin, leaving the tray on the table for the staff to handle exemplified their commitment to customer convenience and service excellence. While seating was ample, it's worth noting that peak lunch hours might lead to limited availability. Nevertheless, the overall experience at Ethel’s Snack Shack is a testament to their commitment to providing a great, hot lunch. Do keep in mind that while certain menu items are available daily, the added variety on select days adds an exciting touch to your dining options. A definite recommendation for those seeking a superb dining experience in the area.“
“I recommend going at an odd time of day as it's usually packed. The fried pickles are my favorite appetizer! Everything on the menu is good. Prices are good. You get what you pay for. Drinks are good as well. I love the oysters and stuffed flounder. Staff is friendly and quick.“
“I gave it a four because of how good it used to be! No more beef ribs or collard greens.... also, the ribs are overdone now. Don't know what changed, but es no bueno!!! Service was always mediocre at best, but the food made up for it. Not anymore...“
“Amazing food, service and overall experience. Brought 7 kids in and was greeted warmly and received stellar service. The kids had fried food and the seasonings were on point! We kept sampling their foods surprising at how good they were.Best hush puppies I’ve ever had!We split a crab/shrimp/potato/sausage boil. Medium heat was perfect and the garlic seasoning was so good. Shrimp were huge!Definitely going back again soon for more.“
“Fleming was an absolute delight! We made reservations for our anniversary and upon arrival, the hostess gave me a rose and walked us to our table. We felt so VIP! I got the blueberry lemon drop and boy that was YUMMY! Like candy. I got 2, the second was more strong, but still delicious, probably my favorite one ever. For my meal, I got the French onion soup and holy moly.... That was so good. Husband got the ribeye and it had lots of fatty pieces left. We also got a side of the Brussels sprouts and they were good but strong! Like Italian dressing. To finish, we ordered the crème brulee and it was great!! The "ice cream" was like cream cheese. So good. Would 1000% recommend. got the Brussels sprouts as an ap“
“This is our go to Pizza place! So much better than the chain places. Made fresh, ready to pick up in 20 minutes, with fresh, yummy ingredients. The staff, especially the owner and his wife, are so nice and we almost always get a little treat of lemon or other cake for FREE! When we go inside to eat, the food is just as good and fresh-made, we love the Alfredo and Chicken Parmesan and service is always great. Definitely a consistent and delicious gem in Central.Parking: Parking right out front.Kid-friendliness: Great place for families and good kid’s menu choices.“
“This place is such a cute place, its family run business. They are so friendly and welcoming, there’s a reason why their customers keep coming back. There crawfish was on fire, coming from Texas, Louisiana crawfish is much more spicier. I usually can’t handle spice much but I kept on eating more and more. And to be honest I think it cleared up part of my cold I was fighting too. But over all it was great, will have to stop by again when I’m going through Baton Rouge.“
“Trying to find live crawfish Sunday morning was harder than I thought. I reached out to farmers meat market the morning of and they were more than happy to help. When I arrived I was able to get a 35lbs bag of the largest and most fresh crawfish I have ever eaten. I would highly recommend them for live crawfish.“
“So yeah! We volunteered today at an event at the Hotel today. I had not eaten much of anything. I was told that the food here was good. And ya'll, THEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!!!!! I clearly forgot to take a picture of our foods. I asked the gentleman what would he recommend, he suggested the Louisiana chicken it came with roasted potatoes & broccoli. I also had a cup of gumbo, it had duck in it, I thought that it was beef. Lol, first time eating duck. It was delicious. Everything was absolutely DELICIOUS & WELL SEASONED, my hub had garlic parm chicken wings. For dessert we somewhat shared the bread pudding with vanilla bean ice cream on top. Oh oh oh and with my dish it also came with a corn dish. It was delicious! We've NEVER had food this tasty inside ANY hotel. Shout out to the Chefs who prepared the food & the servers, Topher & Blue. We definitely recommend this spot & we definitely will come back when we pull thru.Ya'll come & see.“
“The crawfish were huge. I got take out and found the specials on facebook (it was $8/lb and now it's around $5/lb). They were slightly overcooked and the meat stuck onto the shells a little. I got it with the garlic butter sauce on top and man was it salty. The corn was good and the potatoes were slightly softer than my liking. Everything was drenched in the sauce so it was very salty. Service took about 10 minutes and the ambiance was relaxed and looked like the inside of a shack. I would try it again but without the garlic butter on top.“
“You will not be disappointed in the crab cake - so much crab, so little breading - easily one of the best crab cakes I've ever had. We also got the seafood gumbo that was great and stuffed flounder, which was just ok. Our server was very nice and attentive.“
“I did have my food delivered so the steam did effect the freshness. The shrimp were pretty seasoned and tasty . The catfish was thin and they only gave me one packet of tartar sauce. The fries very basic no seasoning . Overall I will say a 7/10.“
“This Seafood spot is such a surprise!!!! Don't let the exterior put you off...the food is SPECTACULAR and their prices are really reasonable too! Their fish is prepared to perfection, tender AND flakey! Sooooo delish! I will be a regular!“
“My girl SUE was AMAZING!!!! If you ever eat here, ask for her directly! Always attentive, was present, but still gave us privacy, made great recommendations for food choices, sweet presence, professional, and super nice! My husband and I’s 5 star experience was owed to her! Great waitress!!“
“When I tell you this place was so awesome for brunch. It's for grown folks of all backgrounds. The food was amazing, the biscuits were big and soft and buttery. The chicken wings were seasoned so well as was all the other food. The area stayed clean and the bottomless mimosas stayed flowing. I believe this the best brunch in town. Cost efficient with all you can eat and drink mimosas. The music was good too with a great mixture of good r and b, zydeco, blues, and of course Baton rouge local music. Look forward to going again soon...“
“I recommend Phil's Oyster Bar & Seaford Restaurant for their atmosphere, service, and food. We made reservations and didn't have to wait to be seated. Our waitress was wonderful and paid attention to details, as in special requests due to allergies. The charbroiled oysters were the best. Phil's is definitely the place to go for seafood.“
“I'm not big on Me I a food, but I went here for a birthday celebration! I asked someone who worked there what they recommended. His eyes lit up as he described the trio fajitas. I took his suggestion! Boy, he was spot on! The shrimp were plump and cooked perfectly! The steak was seasoned perfectly, cooked perfectly and was so tender! The chicken and veggies were amazing! The service was spot on! I wish that I lived in Baton Rouge because I'd be eating here weekly!“
“We've been to this location more than once since they've moved from their previous location. Everything has been excellent! The service has been great, our waitress Ms. Amya was wonderful & pleasure. No complaints about the food, it has been great! From the duck empanadas to the seafood menu you can't go wrong. Definitely won't be the last time we visit.“
“We love P. Beau’s! We eat here often and always bring friends and family here when they visit. The food and service are always excellent. Our most recent experience was with Cam as our server and he was wonderful! So friendly and super attentive! Already looking forward to our next visit!“
“Seafood was really good. Crab legs were good size. Crawfish were tiny but still good. They also did not have any blue crabs so they substituted head on shrimp. I dinged them one star because They did not inform me they were out of blue crab at the time that I ordered nor did they ask me what I would like to substitute it with.. I may have ordered something else. Or chose something else other than head on shtimp as the replacement item“
“I’m fairly new to University Seafood and I absolutely love the crawfish. They are always hot and just enough spice. The flavor is amazing, please don’t ever change your recipe. It’s my “go-to” now. Used to be Tony’s Seafood, but now it’s University Seafood! They are consistent. Been there 4 times now. And every time they are absolutely delicious. Thank you!“
“My husband and I came to try our first dim sum, and even though I had no idea what to expect the wonderful staff walked me through it and explained what the dishes were. We had a wide variety of food, and everything was fantastic. It’s truly authentic and the customer service is out of this world. I highly recommend the shrimp and chive pot stickers if you go for dim sum. They were my favorite!“
“Food was excellent. The staff and the management team was awesome, the older guy at the drive-thru was very attentive to me and I loved the crawfish sample. I'm from New Orleans and Bayou Seafood crawfish is delicious and affordable hands down! I will be back with my friends and family ? “
“I was in town for a quick trip. Ran across this place waiting on my flight, and I can promise I will make the trip again just to come back here. Unbelievable soup and drinks. Chips and salsa were great as well. I had the best bowl of caldo de res that I have ever had in my life. The seafood soup looks absolutely delicious.“
“I have to say this is one of those hole in the wall places that really knock it out the park with certain things... and this place has some of the best lemon pepper wings I have ever had... the taste is unbelievable... I can't say anything for the other dishes... but the lemon pepper wings are by far my favorite... I will definitely be making the long trip back here for them again...“
“My first time at this place the staff was friendly and amazing. I am not a Louisana native btw. I got the crawfish wacky pack. It was fresh and steamed well and moist. I gave it a 4 because I think it lacked flavor a little. I will try the shrimp and give another “
“I had an excellent time here. It was me and my wife’s third anniversary. We were both tired from working and just wanted to do something small and cozy. The food, atmosphere, and service were great. Our first time here but not the last! ?“
“The crawfish are pretty good and my husband really liked the shrimp! I’ve been two weeks in a row and the only thing I didn’t like as much were the eggs , onion , garlic ( pretty much anything I added on) were boiled, but not as seasoned as the crawfish . I’d definitely go back for the crawfish though ! Might go again for the third week in a row ; the prices are really good too.“
“I like Tuckers. The people there are nice. They cook the food fresh when you order. They have excellent fried catfish. So it can take 15-20 min when you order. But, if you want home cooked Cajun food, it's really the only place in Zachary that I feel comfortable going to.“
“Super yummy food.Shrimp po boy is fresh ,hot and delicious.Fried Chicken and are tasty also.Although the wings are on the smaller side.Meat pies could use more meat or less breading.Food is usually fresh so be prepared to wait if there is a line.“
“The food was amazing! I enjoy buying my bobas and other various foods from here! The Lion rolls tasted amazing and the Gyoza was amazing! The person behind the counter was also super polite and let me know when the food would be finished cooking. Would definitely buy from here again for a Netflix and Chill night!“
“I know they are short handed at times, but there is one waitress or she just stays behind the counter, not sure, but she doesn’t have a good attitude or “bedside manner” so to speak. All the call in orders get taken care of prior to you being seated. The last 2 times we’ve been there, we’ve had to sit for 20 min while 13 customers (not counted) came in to pick up their call in orders while we just sat & waited. We almost left. The food is good, it’s not great, but it’s good. The shrimp & corn soup is good, but too much corn. The crawfish e’toufe isn’t the best. Their seafood gumbo is good, I do love their fruit, pecan salad with the house dressing.“
“Decor is minimum. TVs for sport fans.Ordered pork chop sandwich, onion rings, roast beef sandwich and a cup of etouffee. The sandwiches were large. Pork chop had great crunch; however, after taste was off and we could not figure out the spice. The roast beef was divine but the bread fell apart and I ate it with a fork and knife. Onion rings were decent and so were the fries. Etouffee was pretty good. The roast beef by itself is wonderful!!“
“This was the first time my husband and I visited this establishment. The staff was extremely friendly. We ordered tamales, boudin balls, and fish and shrimp plates. We have absolutely no complaints about the food. We are looking forward to returning and trying other food.“
“Awesome people and are willing to go the extra mile to make a customer happy. We picked up 15lbs of live crawfish at 12:30 in the afternoon and got home to clean them and prepare for a boil at 430. We noticed a few were dead and called and they let us know to wait and see if they wake up from being on ice. When we went to boil at 3 we noticed even more not moving and potentially dead. We brought them back and they kindly swapped it out for new crawfish. I appreciate them taking the time to show us a crawfish after being on ice and being kind to us and replacing them! Crawfish were amazing in size!“
“My experience at the Greenwell Springs location was very good. It didn't start out that way due to a technical issue with the online ordering system, the very sweet young lady @ cashier let me know that there was no order received although I had a confirmation via email. This was very upsetting we drove from Baker to pick up the food and we were very hungry. Still she was never disrespectful even with all of my complaints being made known. She offered to call the manager for which I agreed was a good idea... And here is where things took a turn. Once the manager arrived he listened to what the issue was, (not to mention he drove from another store to resolve the issue) he advised that his customers are priority and did everything he could to figure out what went wrong with the transaction. I was assured I would be refunded (I did receive refund ), and was able to get our food pretty quickly after he arrived !! We are so very grateful to experience this level of customer service ,especially in a time where it seems like kindness and empathy is not the standard or trend. Mr. Tim is the example and thank you to all the staff at Po Boy Express #6 for all of your hard work !!! The food service industry is not an easy one to work in but you are appreciated, valued and needed. THANK YOUHANZ H. ?? ? ? ?“
