“Great food! It might not look like a pretty place on the outside, especially because it's connected to a gas station, but this place is a great spot for either breakfast, lunch, and dinner! They have plenty of tables on the inside, plenty for you and your coworkers to enjoy a nice, filling meal! My coworkers got burgers and their cake/pie, they loved them all. As for my grilled chicken burger, I'm trying to stay healthier and this was a very delicious lunch! The one downside here is parking I'd say. It is shared with the gas station so spots are sometimes scarce , otherwise this place is a true hidden gem(it's probably not that hidden- I'm just weird with restaurants attacked to gas stations)“

“Hitting on all cylinders at this location. Small dining area in comparison to some of their other locations. Even with a huge party, the wait staff, kitchen, and food was spot on! Everything come out super fast and was correct and flavorful! Most certainly consider it worth the drive.“

“Our experience was nice. Love walking the grounds before and after to look at the pretty scenery. I didn't love my scallops this time. I also didn't love the seafood gumbo. I found them both a tad fishy. Wish I had gotten the beef salad. Bread and butter is always yummy. The red snapper special was very good. Drinks were nice and service was great also.“

“I was in the Gonzales area with my mother in law and the seafood place she wanted to go to wasn't open. I googled some restaurants in the area and came across ToeGo Seafood. The service was excellent, very friendly and the food was amazing. I definitely will visit again when I'm in the area.“

“Galvez Seafood has the best hamburger steak in town! Everything I’ve ever ordered from the menu has been really good, but I am a hb steak lover and you can’t get a better one in Ascension or BR! Oh, their Mississippi Mud cake is amazing! My husband bought a whole pan of it from the kitchen… it was that good!!“

“My client (local) said this was his favorite restaurant in all of Louisiana, and it delivered. Off the beaten path but not too far, with an authentic ambiance you can "feel" as much as see. Service was excellent (shoutout to Sam B.), knowledgeable, attentive, and welcoming. I had a spicy bread bowl appetizer, Roberto's crab entree, and the black tuxedo pie a la mode dessert. Left with a full stomach and a happy experience. More of a nice memory than just a meal. Go for it.“

“Early morning breakfast before my wife and kids woke up. I was impressed they were open so early, but didn't expect much at five in the morning. I couldn't have been more wrong. Walked in to a well lit dining area and was told I could sit where I wanted. Perfect because I hate being sat too close to other diners. Not that there were many there, two large groups of local men enjoying coffee and the latest gossip. Nice atmosphere, I could see myself being one of those guys when I hit the twilight years. A waitress approached with a menu and water in hand, asking what did like to drink after a cheerful "good morning!" A young blonde with a pleasant persona and a welcoming vibe about her. I ordered coffee and she said she'd be back in a few minutes. When she made her way back to my table I was ready to order but I had trouble pronouncing "atchafalya". She caught on to that (or my accent tipped her off ) and she asked "You're not from around here, are ya?" I chuckled a little and she went to give my ticket to the cooks. Wasn't long before my food was sitting right in front of me and damn did it smell and look amazing. Two of the uniquely Cajun Benedicts with a large chunk of alligator sausage on each side. I dug in. Thick fluffy biscuits sat atop crispy and perfectly tart fried green tomatoes which in turn were adorned with two perfectly poached eggs smothered in a homemade creole sauce filled the plate. I didn't know what to expect other than the unexpected. My gut instinct proved to be right as I took my first bite of this swamp born delicacy. Finished it quicker than it took to get to me. And the sausage? Cooked to perfection with an expertly browned outside and a hot, juicy, tender center. The best breakfast I had while visiting the Bayou State. Would definitely revisit if I'm ever in the area; might even drive out of my way to do so.“
“This is one of my favorite restaurants. "Restaurant" is not the right word. "Experience" would be more accurate. I'll start with food. On the menu there is a pumpkin crawfish bisque that when I initially saw that combo I turned my nose up at it but decided to give it a try. I am so glad that I did - unlike anything I've ever had! I'm always so torn. Trying to decide what to get. For a first time, or I would have to insist on the eggplant Napoleon. It's piled high with so much lump crab meat. I don't know how they offer it for the price it is. But the pork chop with the sweet potato, mash and brussels sprouts... OMG! The service is always great! You're given a basket of breads and biscuits for the table with a couple of butter options. The butter with the Steen's syrup is my favorite. on our last visit, we were celebrating a birthday. The birthday girl was surprised with an array of sweets. But as I said, this is more than just a restaurant, it's an experience. Plan extra time before your reservation or after so that you can view the gorgeous grounds! From the house to the gardens to the fountains to the covered archway, you're going to need at least an extra hour for exploring .“

“Tried Christian Brother's Seafood for the first time and I wish I could give a 10/10 rating! I ordered Boiled Shrimp and Dungeness Crabs! They were boiled right and seasoned! Didn't order sides so I was surprised to see potatoes & corn included! Everyone at the counter greeted me when I walked in also! Will definitely be a repeat customer!“

“We used to eat at Sno’s when we were in college and it had just opened. We were there this weekend, and it was as delicious as ever. They were very accommodating to our party of 23, with gracious service, frequently asking if we needed anything. We will definitely go back again when in Gonzales.“

“Too many waiters all descending upon you before you have a chance to sit down. Rush seems to be the name of the game. Forgot our appetizer but I think I wound up paying for it anyway. Veal Parmessan was too patties of veal in some sauce. Not bad but not up to my standards for Italian cuisine. But the place was packed so everybody else must have liked it. Steak Oscar, well, it was a nice filet with a few small pieces of asparagus sitting underneath. Nothing fancy at all.“

“C and G Seafood Deli305 S Burnside Ave, Gonzales, LA 70737I have been craving crawfish for over a year now. And I finally had a chance to satisfy my hunger for crawfish! It may be more expensive this season compared to last year due to the crawfish shortage, but it was very worth it, in my personal opinion. The awesome flavors and good quality make up for the price. They also have other goodies like crawfish pasta, fried fish, fried chicken, and so much more! In conclusion, this place is worthy!#Tonylameats #candgseafood #gonzalesla #crawfish #cajunfood #seafood #deli“

“For a bar and grill this place was pretty chill. The dining area was about half full with only a handful of patrons at the bar, we were told we arrived during the "calm before the storm". We opened the doors unsure if we should sit anywhere or wait to be seated but before we had a chance to pull out chairs for ourselves a young lady asked us how many in our party as she guided us to a nice little corner table big enough for me and my three kids. She had menus in hand and seemed to have our drinks back to us before I could open the cover. I wanted to try a variety and our server recommended the Half Shell Seafood platter. I decided to mix it up a little and opted for blackened catfish and shrimp, grilled oysters, and of course a deep fried crab cake and a deep fried stuffed shrimp. This platter also came with a side salad and a bowl of seafood gumbo. All of it was too shelf and tasted like it was made to order. For an appetizer I went with the crispy artichoke hearts and let me tell ya, that was the right choice! The artichokes came out first and I had never had any other than in a spinach dip, now I couldn't imagine having them any other way. The perfect combination of tart and robust with a crispy, crunchy coating, these little vegetable orgasms were sprinkled with fresh shredded Parmesan and paired perfectly with the house marinara sauce. The order was big enough for both me and my two kids, but I devoured the plate before they had a chance to eat more than just a few. Even the blooming onion takes a backseat to my new favorite app. When the Half Shell Platter arrived I was anxious to see what kind of shock my tastebuds were about to experience and I was surprised in the best way. The catfish was cooked to perfection with a blackened flavor you can't match at home. The shrimp too, perfectly cooked and seasoned with no trace of a rubbery bite or overpowering flavor. First time having oysters grilled and I've got to say raw will always reign supreme, but these were a close second. The rest of the plate was what you'd expect, predictable and delicious. Not the kind of hole in the wall establishment I was looking for, but exactly the kind of authenticity. The server kept the drinks full and the table clear. We had a next to nothing wait time and the food was a 10/10. Well deserving of a five star rating, if I'm ever back in Baton Rouge I'll be stopping in again.“

“YUM!!! I ordered their hush puppies for an appetizer and they were so tasty, especially with their homemade tartar sauce! For my main dish, I got a fried shrimp po'boy. It was my first ever po'boy (I'm new to Louisiana and the gulf coast), and it rocked my world! The fries were good. The whole experience was just stellar!“

“Just driving through pulled up the search for good Roast beef Po'boy, they also have a big selection of Chinese foods. I got a sm chicken fried rice, very good. The sandwich, eh, not as good as I remember them when I lived in Metairie. The juice was good. But the meat didn't have that deep roast beef being cooked down. I ate it, but looks like I'll have to make another trip on day.“

“I didn't even know about this place when searching Google for restaurants in this area and just so happened to drive by and glad I did. The turkey, bacon, ranch sandwich was great and all the staff I encountered was very nice. I will return if I visit the area again!“
