“I'm glad to have a great seafood restaurant so close to home! The food is always hot and tasty, they sell Big Shot drinks (my favorite) and the staff is very nice and your order is made fast!!! I highly recommend a visit, you'll be happy you did!!! ;)“
“My go to snowball place because it's so close to my house. The snowballs are decent, and ice is not hard. You will get an occasional water added to your flavor that I don't like. Nachos were ok. The cheese tasted funny the one time I did get them. They have a drive-thru line or walk-up. Parking is limited, but I just park at the other businesses if I walk up. Also, sometimes the kids that work there counts are a little off when giving you your total(I don't think that's done intentionally). I would still recommend getting you a snowball here.“
“We found out about this place via Somebody feed Phil and we had saved it in our to go to sandwich places. The sandwiches were really good, I think the bread was the highlight, so soft and buttery. I had a Fried Bologna and my husband and Collard Green, which was definitely a win with its minty/yoghurty flavour and incredible cheese. The service was averageVegetarian options: Tasty options for vegetarians - no compromise on flavour If you don’t eat meat (I had the meaty one and I wish had tried the veggie one)“
“It’s been a while since we visited Plume, but we have always had SUCH a great experience! The food is delicious - my favs include the fried chicken and the naan. If you can’t eat in, the food travels/delivers very well to your house and is still very yummy!“
“Go!! It’s SO GOOD! Ordered catering the other day and everyone at the party looovvveedddd everything. So many “wow where is this from?!” questions. Even packaged perfectly to keep things crispy. Have been in person too and it’s a cute spot, great for kids and for outdoor beverages. It’s super interesting and tasty, but fulfills the need for perfectly crunchy and juicy chicken and fish bites. (The vegetarian nuggets are also sooo good.) Thanks W+S!!!!“
“If you plan to visit the famed Cafe du Monde while in NOLA (which I recommend), I recommend this location. It is in city park and right next to the New Orleans art museum. I did not have to wait at all midday and they accepted card payment. The beignets come in sets of 3 and were amazing. The iced cafe au lait was quite good. Important note for those that this effects was that they told me they only have whole milk products for their coffees.“
“Had the most divine time and the staff was amazing. I got to know the owner's children who are amazing young men. They were very welcoming and informative about the history of the restaurant. Had the red snapper with rice and the veggie tray with injera bread. Gonna use my leftover injera for twist-on crepes in the morning.“
“I love Lil Dizzy’s food! The gumbo is like no other. The crawfish bisque is absolutely amazing. The fried chicken is just like my grandma’s. OMG I can go on and on, the Mac and sweet potatoes, potato salad, and so much more! You have to experience this place for yourself.“
“Thanks to helpers, we came here for our very first stop. Yes, the ambiance is local and dive bar-like BUT man this place is the best. We came during their 10-2 daily drink specials ranging from $3-$5.. I enjoyed the Bloody Mary, the Screw Driver and some generously poured shots. The wife over indulged in their famous Ftozen Irish Coffee drinks ($3). For an extra $6, the really friendly bar server will pour you a generous shot. We snagged a bar seat and sat here for a few hours. It's the place to be and yes, it's an Irish bar.“
“This place is a Hidden GEM❣Fun place Perfect! Perfect food! I was torn between the French toast and the shrimp and grits...but they offer smaller portions as sides; perfect! The owner is a superb artist and it shows inside and out! This is me, Zora the cook and Daisy (the magical flying pig :-)“
“We love NOLA. Visit couple times a year but usually don't get a chance to go far from the Quarter. We had an opportunity to visit this place when a friend, who is a local, brought us, his suggestion. I'm so glad he did. Food was amazing. Great little bar with fun vibe.“
“My wife and I recently had the pleasure of visiting Morning Call Coffee Stand in New Orleans, and it was an absolute delight. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with the tantalizing aroma of freshly made beignets and café au lait. The service was lightning-fast, and despite being a cash-only establishment, we were in and out in no time. The staff members were not only efficient but also had a great sense of humor, adding a playful touch to our morning routine. As for the food, it was simply divine. The beignets were light, fluffy, and dusted with just the right amount of powdered sugar, while the café au lait was rich and creamy, the perfect complement to the sweet treats.Overall, Morning Call Coffee Stand provided us with a memorable breakfast experience that perfectly encapsulated the charm and flavor of New Orleans. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this place is definitely worth a visit.“
“I have been sending people to Bar Tonique for close to a year from my position as liquor vault manager at the Sazerac House. So many return to tell me what a great experience they had & to thank me for recommending it. I have left the position at Sazerac House & won't be sending any more from there, Good luck to all the craftsmen & women behind this truly wonderful place!“
“When you're in New Orleans, be sure to hit up the person behind the front desk at your hotel at least once after check-in and before check-out to ask what the best place to grab a snowball (Sno-ball? Up in the air...) is. And if you're lucky, there will be two people behind the front desk, so they can have a fierce debate about it. My decision was made after hearing that Hansen's gave you a souvenir cup with your sno-ball. It was 90+ degrees the entire time we were in NOLA. Without taking the humidity into consideration. So it came as no surprise that the first thing our Uber driver said to us was "Hansen's? I could really use a sno-ball today too!" (We invited her to join us but she declined because of the sugar content. Which... fair.) Plan and time your visit well. Hansen's is a little out of the way and is guaranteed to have a line. I found myself awkwardly craning my neck at times to catch the shade. It's a tiny mom-and-pop place (it's been in the Hansen family for three generations) and the fans inside won't do much to cool you down until you take your first bite of a sno-ball. It tastes nothing like shaved ice. The texture is softer -- truly snowlike. I got satsuma (a tart citrusy flavor that you'll find on the menu of many NOLA institutions, whether edible or in candle form) and cream of earl grey. I could barely taste the earl grey, so I think I should've gotten another flavor, but the satsuma was heavenly.“
“This is one of the best lunch cafes I have ever been to! I am a vegetarian and sandwich options are always so limited anywhere else. So many options I had a hard time deciding. Even if you’re not vegetarian you should check this place out!!“
“This is my first time here and I was pretty impressed The food was so fresh and the meat was so tender. My only complaint is they don't do shrimp tacos but that's fine The queso dip makes up for it. There's no dining inside but the outside was the vibe. Simple menu not much to overthink. Oh and we order the margarita picture and split it between three people It was enough for seconds.“
“The best breakfast spot that I found while visiting New Orleans......I visited Two Chicks Cafe kn my birthday and omg the barbecue shrimp and grits were amazing and let's not forget about their French toast and Ashley was so sweet and kind.“
“I really like this place, one of my favorites in town. The service is absolutely fantastic, the teas are great, unfortunately today the key lime pie was not as great as always, the whip cream felt fake (from a can) not fresh and that was disappointing :c I still give them 5 of 5 because we really like the place and hopefully they keep the original quality of the key lime pie“
“We went yesterday and the wait was 2 hours. Got there a little earlier today and we got in. I’ve eaten at the Uptown location and was so happy they opened up another one that’s closer. It was my daughter’s first time and she said the food is so good and understands why there is a wait.“
“Welty's used to have its own place in the CBD but is now in the food court of Place St Charles. But don't put it in the "food court" category. It's a classic deli, with a very distinct NOLA vibe. The sandwiches are LOADED with meat, and very good. I haven't had any of their specials - I go there when I want a corned beef or pastrami sandwich. Actually, yesterday it was their California Club, which as great, and I should not have eaten the whole thing all at once. I always dine in, and I always love listening to the interactions between the staff and the customers. It's a bit odd to be in a "food court" and hear so many "Here ya go my love" or "Hey baby, where you been?" with almost every customer being treated like long-time customers (which, apparently, many of them are). I swear, I think every sentence I hear either starts with, or ends with( or both), a great term of endearment. Everyone working there seems to really love what they do. Seriously, if you closed your eyes, you'd think you were sitting in a neighborhood diner. Being on the 2nd floor of an office and retail building, it's easy to forget about, but if you're looking for a great sandwich and some love, this is your place.“
“My husband and I came down from Boston for a long weekend in New Orleans and this is definitely worth a stop! We had a tour of the distillery with Alyson and she was very knowledgeable, funny and witty. We tore a lot of distilleries and wineries and breweries, and they had an excellent and very high-quality selection of bourbon available. They also offered some unique vodkas. You can't really go wrong here at all. After our tour, we ordered some drinks at the bar while we were purchasing some bottles to take home, and the bartender made some excellent recommendations of signature cocktails on their menu. Very good experience and highly recommend“
“I was a bit disappointed that the juices weren't freshly made on the spot. But the Root and Fruit was very tasty. I like to juice at home so I can get the pulp, no pulp with their juices. The younh woman at the register was very kind and knowledgeable. I see some people complain about the prices. To them I say, have you been in the grocery stores these days and seeing the price of veg and fruit?“
“I am practically about to lick the plate! We had the Mac n cheese, Rueben, Wagyu burger, egg rolls and pickle plate. I cannot say which was best, as they were all outstanding!!! Not to mention the service which was excellent. A perfect choice for vegans, vegetarians and carnivores alike!“
“Great Irish pub. Friendly atmosphere, super nice staff, and a good place to watch a match. Opens early for Saturday/Sunday's premier league. But if you want to watch any other particular game, you can always ask the bar staff if they can put it on one of the 10 tv's. They also have two tv's outside.“
“If I could give this food & to go package a 10 star review I would. This food was amazing-i can’t wait to dine in for the entire experience.Seriously impressed with both the bagel & bialy on the light & fluffy but not chewy texture.“
“Might be the best brewery in Nola. Very imaginative (and delicious) beers, with no fear about mixing things up a bit. Their pours tend toward exacting flavors, well presented, with no fluff, as you would expect from someone that knows exactly what they are doing.“
“Was in the garden district for a tour and wanted to grab a bite before. Found this place to have good reviews and it was not very busy on a Monday afternoon. We had the crab and sweet potato balls and pork tacos both amazing! Would recommend“
“Wow. That is my immediate take away. I just devoured the best savory scone I have ever tasted. It was so incredible that after I finished it I wanted to call them to tell them. I stopped in for my first time this morning after reading about Levee and living close by. Service, staff, and atmosphere were fantastic but that scone .... Just Wow.“
“Amazing Event Cakes — We had a formal event this weekend for which Bywater provided our cakes. The chocolate peanut butter was to die for. The other cake was not what we ordered but we loved it just the same. If you need a cake for any occasion, we highly recommend Bywater Bakery.“
“Went here once with my dad, have been asking him to take us again. Very nice atmosphere and our drinks arrived fairly quickly. I ordered a hot chocolate and it was honestly one of the best I've ever had, it was very authentic tasting and rich in flavor. Would def reccomend.Kid-friendliness: I can tell you it is pretty kid friendly, they let me have a nice big sticker of their logo for free.“
“The food was good and nicely presented. It is cute and quaint. Orders are olaced at the counter, you seat yourself and they find you. I did find it odd I had to ask for syrup. Once I did, a condiment organizer was brought to my table complete with salt and pepper. The dogs with the man sitting at the next table were brought water and then some treats, without saying a word. The patrins were pleasant and conversational, the staff at the cafe were "matter of fact".“
“Go to the Rusty Nail for exceptional bourbons, knowledgeable, friendly staff, great prices & excellent service... it's well worth would it takes to find it. Also they have a 25% off whiskey Wednesdays!!! Wife and I happened to get there b4 opening on Wednesday. One of the staff ladies took us around inside to show us what Bourbons they had available. Treated us very very kindly...!!! Went back later after a terrible experience at Barrel proof and we just sat there for about 2 hours and enjoyed ourselves. When we get back to New Orleans we'll be back!!“
“The food at Saba was delicious, simple, and fresh! The humus and pita was definitely the star of the show. I could've eaten the blue crab hummus as a meal alone. The shrimp dish was good, but not as wonderful as the rest of the meal! The green falafel was definitely a favorite as well, even if it is simpler than some of the other options. There was slight disappointment in the chicken not being available, so be prepared for disappointment if going on a weekend or busy time as they may sell out! Service was great and the restaurant has wonderful charm to it! I recommend eating in the lounge if available when making your reservations!“
“Veteran run business. Has beer. Beer good. Come here. Outside patio with tvs. There are businesses next to it with food that only serve until around noon but has a food truck that comes around 5. They don't serve food here aside from chips or whatever snacks they be peddling. Great place. Founder himself served us beer and was a lot of fun to talk with.“
“Effervescence is a little off the beaten path but is worth the journey. They have an excellent selection of bubbly by the glass, it's not only Champagne but from all around the world. The brussels sprouts were some of the best I've eaten but the food in general was very good. The owner is very friendly, highly recommend making this part of your New Orleans food experience!“
“I don’t know where to start but maybe with the meticulous approach to everything from prep to plating. Every dish was immaculate. The vibe was blessedly chill. Our server Catherine (who I sensed handles greater responsibilities) was cordial and informative, including her wine selections. We went with classics tonight: ceviche, mofongo, arepas, ropa vieja, and everything was perfect. I love this place so much.“
“The staff is absolutely fanatic!! We wondered in on Friday afternoon and were welcomed with smiles. The owner was very attentive and quickly started a conversation with my Irish husband. He volunteered to play the Six Nations Rugby game that was to air and Saturday. So we returned Saturday, and got to watch the game while on vacation!!“
“Cozy ambience with a unique, delicious drink menu. They also offer their kitchen to local food businesses, and the Asian fusion one there when I went was phenomenal. Donavin makes a wonderful drink called “Thank You for Being a Friend” with Louisiana run, almond, passionfruit, and smoky amaro – must try! I was in town for the Home + Garden Show, and Barrel Proof was the perfect unwind!“
“First time dining at Burbon Heat. We sat outside and it was perfect. Try the Bang Bang Shrimp! Just do it. I had chicken and sausage Gumbo with red beans and rice and a boudin egg roll. I didn't care to much for the red beans. It was a flavor issue. The Gumbo and the boudin egg roll stole the show. My friend had the same dish as myself but she had the fried fish. Omg when I tell you it was seasoned and fried to absolute perfection. I will definitely be stopping in on my next trip to NO.“
“We noticed this little spot on our way to brunch and made a note to stop by on the way back. The atmosphere is laid back and inviting. This is a wonderful family run establishment that we will continue to visit until we die. I highly recommend the Red Lemonade but everything was delicious!“
“Best beignets ever! You also can't go wrong with their other delicious desserts. This was recommended by locals and now I see why. We are always bringing some home everytime. Light and flaky, not thick. The Rampart location has more selection, but you can grab your favorites in the French Market“
“Chill atmosphere, great architecture concept and intimate seating arrangement. GREAT FOOD!!! The Beignets were so good ..light crunchy outside , soft & fluffy inside almost melting in your mouth ? , so yummy??.. the Breakfast Sandwich with the croissant was absolutely delicious! Top it all off with a Mimosa ?? The pecan pie was equally delicious!“
“I read an issue of Southern Living Magazine which listed best barbecue in each of the Southern states. The magazine rated Central City Barbecue in New Orleans as the second best barbecue restaurant in Louisiana. We decided to give it a try. Upon entering the restaurant, we noticed a television screen advertising a Beef Rib Special offered on Weekends for $29. I knew I had to order that. In the Bay Area, beef ribs normally sell for $40-55. When we placed our order to share, I was pleasantly surprised when we were asked what two sides we wanted with the rib. "We get choice of sides?" Never back home. We ended up ordering so much food, adding a three meat platter and a two meat platter, that we took enough leftovers home to provide an additional meal for each of us. The sides were all quite good, although the mac and cheese could have used a touch of salt. All the meats were mouth watering. Fall off the bone pork spareribs, burnt ends, beef brisket, pork belly, and of course the aforementioned beef rib which was huge and perfectly done. As Schwarzengger would say, "WE'll be back!"“
“Best place for breakfast! Visited on multiple days of our trip. Delicious, homemade from scratch, creative and healthy options. The Interior decor is bright, uplifting and happy. Love the very comfortable green chairs. (not your standard wobbly wood seating). The service is outstanding: efficient and friendly.“
“Love this place! Ive been coming to them for years. My reasoning for the 4/5 stars is because post-Covid I’ve noticed a significant decrease in size of the sandwiches but they have stayed at the same price point. It used to be easy to share the sandwiches now its more of a single serving. Still outstanding food and service regardless!“
“This was a nice find. The outdoor eating space is quaint and has a wonderful atmosphere. The food was good but a little pricey for what you get. I had the braised pork tacos which were really tasty. My wife had a chicken quesadilla and we shared some chips and queso. We each had a margarita, her Jalepeno and me strawberry. Bill was just over 50.00 with tip. Give Barracuda a try, I think you will like it.“
“The most delicious ice-cream anywhere around. We routinely order the Cookie Monster (aka cookies n cream) and couldn't be happier. What makes the Rahm Haus Cookie Monster extra cool is that it's colored blue and the blue color doesn't come from food coloring, but rather "blue spirulina phycocyanin" which is a type of blue algae. The flavor has a generous amount of cookie in it and is creamy, both of which I appreciate. The service is great too. The woman who waited on us was extremely professional, informative and otherwise friendly. The ambiance is charming. It's located in the Merchant House and the vibe is that of a trendy outside bar. We love it.“
“Decent hotel bar with a really nice view of the river. They have some interesting cocktails on the menu, and it was a good spot for an afternoon drink. We tried the Sassy Au Pere and Boheme Bongo cocktails; both were well made and reasonably priced at $16 each. The entrance is inside the mall and up an elevator. Because it's connected to the mall, there is also a parkade with lots of parking available.“
“Good coffee. Very tasty and the place has a nice, homey ambience. They didn't have almond milk so I got coconut in my decaf iced latte. Had a lot of good flavor for a decaf... didn't have the usual nasty decaf aftertaste which I appreciate. Pretty large for a small too!“
“Decided to give this place a try randomly after brunch in terrytown. Was shocked at how many options there were for dessert. There’s popsicles in at least 30 different flavors, more options of ice cream than baskin Robbins, and more things you can order off the menu like bubble waffles, creative drinks, and mangonadas. Pleasantly surprised. I will be back.Kid-friendliness: Kids loved the bright colors and many options“
