Starbucks in Boston

“Not surprised that my coffee was made with the consistent Starbucks quality, but the staff was extremely welcoming! One greeted me initially, just waiting for me to enter and welcome me in. The staff member taking my order was just the most chipper, happy person! Their tone was so excited, really just seeming happy to be there. 10/10 service and the usual 10/10 coffee :) not every day that you get that kind of greeting and it truly made me smile.“

“Nestled in a handsome Beaux-Arts building at 192 Tremont Street, this particular Starbucks serves as an unlikely meeting point of Boston's past and present. The imposing limestone façade, with its ornate cornices and dignified archways, stands in stark contrast to the modern "PICK UP" signs hastily taped to its historic windows – a telling metaphor for our times, perhaps.

Inside, the space has been given what one might generously call a "corporate spa" treatment: warm wood paneling, ambient lighting that wouldn't look out of place in a boutique hotel, and enough ceiling-mounted security cameras to make GCHQ blush. The effect is rather like finding a Swedish sauna inside Westminster Abbey.

The clientele, bundled in winter coats that could double as sleeping bags, shuffle about in what appears to be an interpretive dance ofqueue management. A yellow "Caution" sign stands sentinel, less a warning of wet floors than a general advisory about the complex social choreography required to retrieve one's drink.

The real charm, if one can call it that, lies in watching the silent ballet of baristas navigating their wood-paneled domain with the precision of Swiss watch makers – albeit considerably more caffeinated ones. Their workspace, a marvel of efficiency squeezed into architectural heritage, somehow manages to produce an endless stream of beverages for the waiting masses.

Top Tip: Visit during off-peak hours unless you fancy becoming intimately acquainted with your fellow coffee enthusiasts. The building's historical details are best appreciated without someone's winter parka pressed against your nose.*

The verdict? It's precisely what you'd expect from a tired global coffee chain, but housed in a building that deserves better than hastily-applied window signage. Then again, isn't that modern Boston in a paper cup?

☕️= ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - I’m a simple man. Hot black coffee. And if it’s single origin, even better! Starbucks usually has the single origin Ethiopian coffee that I enjoy. It’s not too acidic.

While it’s due to the location, I find it interesting that a large hot black coffee is $1 more expensive here than it is at my hometown location 6 miles north of Boston.“

“My last 3 visits to this location in this past month has been great, first I get to know about those amazing bites egg/gouda/bacon, can't explain how good they are.Second this new crew is great, attentive, on point with orders, third not sure if i just been lucky or what but this crew is super sweet, and i have been different hours so seems persistent the sense that a change had happen here.“

“The employees were very nice and accommodating. I was feeling dehydrated when I went in and asked for a cup of ice water and then another cup of water before we left. The one employee that I asked for the water and a repeat of the security number for the restroom was extremely pleasanteven though she was very busy preparing orders.“

“New owner in this Starbucks branch as he is very welcoming, nice and accommodating. I always order the same thing, so you can call me a regular. Walking in now he just knows my order and makes it. If not when I mobile order it's ready well before the time expected. The other staff as well, so nice and always smiling. The people here are always willing to give Pup cups to those with fur babies so make sure to bring them in for a treat. All in all, my place to come in and get coffee.“

“All the females are all so sweet and doing a phenomenal job but one Spanish boy making coffees likes to talk about other costumers with another costumer in Spanish possibly his girlfriend the way she hovers over the counter why he making other people order and think people can’t understand what they are saying . “Had the best service today from “Your BOY!”. I pulled through the drive thru after a long ride with my mother and kids to drop my mother home in Revere. We were all super grouchy from being in traffic and were just looking for a little refreshment. “This Starbucks is on the second floor of the BU School of Management, but you don't need to be affiliated with BU to use it. It's a great place to study--the seating area is massive, because it shares seating with a little sandwich place in the same space. It's a little louder than other Starbucks I've been to because of the volume of people, but the almost guaranteed seating and variety of seating (big tables, small tables, high tables, booths, and counters along the walls and windows) make this a great spot to get work done on your own or in a group.“

“During busy hours, it can get very hectic which can make the experience very frustrating. Nonetheless, this is simply due to high demand. Overall, the staff are really warm and welcoming (during calm hours). Once you become a regular they greet with enthusiasm and kindness. We only stayed 3 days but they went above
And beyond every time and really made my 5 year old (Parker) feel special.

Brianna even was kind enough to give him a boston plush lobsta 🦞when he came to say goodbye on his last day. It was only a couple of days, but they grew a special bond and it was one of the highlights of our trip.

The person who took my order ( I believe his name was Miguel) was patient with me and helped me figure out what I wanted, and then proceeded to make it himself to see if I'd like it and even offered to give me something else if I didn't. “The cold foam really varies… I like a thick foam, but this is a consistent Starbucks issue. They have a good system here and nice staff they are friendly. They shuffle big crowds in and out pretty well. It’s not clean but it’s not terrible.“

“This is an airport location so they don't have their own seating. But it's located in the Boston Public Market area by Gate 28 so there is seating and standing tables shared with the other businesses. I just had a croissant which was good and hard to mess up. My beverage was the usual Starbucks good and they're fast, especially given that there are usually a ton of people in line. I ordered ahead (Starbucks BOS Terminal C Gate 28") and was also able to use the new function to use my own cup. Win win.“
