“Excellent breakfast sandwiches!“

“Glazed Bytes Coffee is selling itself short by being tucked inside a tiny, painfully forgettable mall in Brookline. The coffee itself? Not forgettable at all.

We ordered two Cloud Foam Lattes (I think that was the name), and that foam was ridiculous in the best way possible. It sits somewhere between an absurdly fluffy marshmallow and canned whipped cream, except smoother, creamier, and somehow lighter at the same time. I genuinely have no idea how they made foam feel “luxurious”, but there we are.

The coffee underneath actually held its own too. Strong flavour, unique profile, not just another Instagram café trying to survive off aesthetics and oat milk. Properly good coffee.

Honestly, the mall needs them more than they need the mall. Places like this drive foot traffic way harder than another random clothing shop nobody remembers walking into. More food spots. More cafés. More reasons for people to actually stay there.

“Been here a couple times now and it's a necessary stop on the way to the library (where they have an in-house cafe too!). Drinks are delightful and fun and not too sweet. There really isn't any seating so it's mostly a take-out spot but the library has outdoor seating :)“

I found it easy to communicate with the bakery manager, and that she had some terrific ideas for flavors. I would absolutely order from them again. Pickup was super easy, too!“

“first reliable place I've found in Massachusetts when it comes to complex brews like pour overs or siphons. you really need a barista that cares when you're talking about an $8 cup of coffee somewhere. best Bean selection I've seen anywhere, very professional brewing setups. busy place, not going to find a quiet corner with a cushy couch but I will say the tables weren't tippy. half the coffee shops we go to have tippy tables. I got a siphon and it was so good I went back and got a pour over. well-trained and genuinely friendly staff - they weren't just painting on a smile. a pleasure to visit a place that takes coffee as seriously as it should be taken. it's a half hour from the house but I can't wait to go back. I would abandon homebrewing and be here every day if it was 5 minutes away. owners, your second location should be in little old Maynard! Your brand is so good as to be a coffee destination. Bravo.“

“Very kind baristas. Prices are reasonable for such a chic place. Offers ample, cozy seating with coworking options as well. We had the hibiscus iced tea (acidity on point as I find some in-house hibiscus to be too sour), the eggplant crisp (comes with chips! bonus points), and the ube coconut cookie (very cool blue color, taste is stronger on the coconut side). “As far as banh mi go, this one is a solid four stars. I went with the BBQ pork and asked for no aioli. The bread was perfectly crusty, the pickled vegetables tasted great and were cut well, as were the fresh jalapeños. I liked the flavor and smokiness on the BBQ pork, but I wish the temperature on it had been anything above room temperature. There were also a couple of overly fatty pieces that should have been trimmed.

The service and atmosphere leave a bit to be desired. The restaurant, at least when I visited, was quite messy. I understand that the sandwiches generate a lot of crumbs, but I think it would help a lot to more regularly wipe down the tables and chairs. I had to wipe off my table and chair when I entered, as did another party I saw come in after me.

I'm also not a huge fan of the QR code ordering system. For such a small place, it feels quite impersonal. Lastly, the cans of soda come out warm. They do provide a cup with a small amount ice, but the cup really ought to be full of ice in order to properly cool down the warm can. In my case, all of the ice was melted as soon as I poured in half a can. Warm soda is just not pleasant.

I think I would order take out next time to avoid the issues they have with dining in. I did very much enjoy the banh mi, but the service issues were a bit perplexing.“

“Came into today to make a delivery both people working where incredibly nice I'll tell you it's extremely rare to meet genuinely happy and kind people nowadays I would highly recommend stopping in and checking them out based off that alone. I got a lemon iced tea it was so good and refreshing but they have a huge drink menu if the rest of the drinks where as good as this it's definitely worth trying. Again 5 stars based of service and just being good people.“

“I stopped my Butternut Bakehouse the day before Easter and it was incredibly busy (which was amazing). I picked up a dozen pastries which were all amazing and my family raved about them. But I also got a breakfast sandwich and a cold brew and the cold brew with cold foam was absolutely amazing. The breakfast sandwich was simple but also perfection. Everything seemed like there was so much thought that went into each thing. They have a lot of indoor seating, too!“

“Really fast service. I ordered a peach cream matcha and it was really good. A lot of variety in drinks, a lot more than Gongcha's, and I personally prefer these flavors as well. The boba itself was really good, consistently sweet and chewy. Goncha and Kung Fu Tea are similarly priced, so it's up to you on which flavor or boba floats your boat, however I would choose Kung Fu Tea over Gongcha any day.“

I also had the veggie pan fried buns and they came out so fresh and flavorful. Definitely a favorite on the menu. The only thing is you may have to wait quite a bit for your item. Definitely do not come here for a quick grab and go trip. Try ordering ahead. Good food quality takes time.“

“Cafe Fresh is such a great spot for a fresh and delicious breakfast! They have a large selection of fresh bagels that you can customize however you like, whether you want a simple spread or a full sandwich. They also have muffins, cookies, chips, bottled drinks, and a great selection of hot or iced coffee with different flavors.

I ordered an onion bagel with lox cream cheese, and it was absolutely delicious and so fresh! The bagel had the perfect crunch on the outside while still being soft and chewy on the inside, and there was just the right amount of cream cheese.

Whether you want to sit down and enjoy your breakfast or grab something quick to take on the go, Cafe Fresh is a great choice. I’ll definitely be back! Highly recommend!“

“This is a nice neighborhood ice cream shop. They have a huge menu. The ice cream we had was really good. The shop itself is fairly bare-bones on the interior, but there’s a decent amount of seating inside and outside. There was no line when we went, but I imagine it is much busier during the school year. Excellent ice cream, but it lacks the accouterments of a a fun New England summer ice cream spot. I wish it had more personality.“
