The moment I arrived, a staff member greeted me with a warm smile and offered to help me navigate the beer selection. I appreciated that they took the time to explain the different brews, especially highlighting the seasonal offerings. I decided to try their Kettle Hole Rustic Pale Ale and was pleased with the balanced flavor. While enjoying my drink at one of the picnic tables, I noticed how attentive the staff was, checking in regularly without being overbearing. The atmosphere felt relaxed, making it easy to unwind and enjoy the surroundings. It was nice to see that they have plans for indoor renovations, which should enhance the experience when it's done. Overall, it was a solid visit, and I'd be curious to come back for more tastings once they're fully set up inside.“

We cannot say enough wonderful things about The Great Barn in Berlin, MA, and especially Jennifer Cermak and her amazing staff. From the moment we began planning our wedding, Jennifer was incredibly responsive, attentive, and genuinely invested in making our vision come to life.

One of the things that impressed us most was Jennifer’s ability to take our color theme and the pictures we shared of our table design and turn them into something even more beautiful than we had imagined. She also added her own creative touches and suggested complementary colors and aesthetic details that we had not thought of ourselves.

Her experience and eye for detail made such a difference. Having the entire barn and house for the whole weekend was another incredible benefit. It gave us the opportunity to have our rehearsal the day before, while also providing wonderful spaces for the bride and groom to get ready. The groom and his party had their own suite, while the bride and her bridal party had a beautiful space for hair and makeup. We were able to have our first look and enjoy the entire wedding weekend without feeling rushed or having to leave the property. It made the experience so much more relaxed and special.

On the wedding day itself, Jennifer was exceptional. She was constantly attentive and alert to whatever we needed, often anticipating things before we even had to ask. Jennifer told us early on that her philosophy is that “it’s the bride’s day and she gets whatever she wants,” and she truly lived by that philosophy. What was especially wonderful was that this same level of care extended to the groom and the entire bridal party. No request was too small, and Jennifer went above and beyond to make sure everyone was comfortable and taken care of.

The Great Barn itself provided a beautiful setting for every part of our wedding. We had our outdoor ceremony, followed by an outdoor cocktail reception, and then moved inside for our reception in the beautifully appointed barn. Jennifer also recommended our DJ, who was fantastic. He kept everyone dancing and did an excellent job maintaining the flow and energy as we transitioned from one part of the celebration to the next.

We had 64 guests, and throughout the evening we repeatedly heard how much everyone was enjoying themselves and how beautiful and memorable the wedding was. That meant so much to us, and we know that the venue and Jennifer’s attention to detail played a huge role in creating that experience.

One recommendation we would make to future couples is to plan ahead and give your vendors plenty of time to visit the venue and coordinate with Jennifer. She knows the property extremely well and is wonderful at helping everything come together, so having everyone communicate and coordinate in advance makes the wedding day run even more smoothly. Jennifer is truly amazing at what she does. She provides not only a beautiful and unique venue, but also extraordinary service, creativity, responsiveness, and genuine care. We highly recommend Jennifer, her excellent staff, and The Great Barn to any couple looking for a wedding venue where they will feel supported and truly cared for throughout the entire experience. Their cold-cuts and pressed sandwiches are delicious.There are a few tables, so you can eat there if you'd like. I typically walk in & order for take-away, and they're very quick and friendly.Perfect place to stop in for a tasty, fresh and filling lunch.“

The pizza is wood fired. The pulled pork came first & both me & my husband thought that it was the best BBQ that we have had in a long time. The pizza was thin crust which is our favorite. Everything was delicious. My husband even ordered some pulled pork to go. Our server Liz was so sweet & helpful since this was our first time there.“
