“Cute place with a good selection expected at a Sushi restaurant. Nice atmosphere, quick and friendly service. Plenty of parking around the restaurant as well
Vegetarian options: Vegan dishes are clearly marked on the menu, and the menu has an okay amount of them to appease the vegans in your party.“

“Our take out dinners tonight were SO good! The filet was absolutely delicious and the goyza was best I’ve had. Everything was cooked perfectly everything was packed so nicely and obviously tons of effort went into each detail. You guys did a fantastic job.“

“A really good, quiet, and friendly environment. They all welcome you and say bye afterwards. Their sushi and ramen are really good and had a beautiful presentation. If you are looking for a quiet place where to read and eat this is your place but go between 4:45-5:30!“

“First-class dining right in Chestnut Hill. I’m so glad I discovered this place.
I visited during a tasting event, which offered a great opportunity to sample several dishes from across the menu. The fish was beautifully prepared and expertly seasoned throughout. The standout was the black cod, perfectly balancing savory richness with just the right touch of sweetness.
The shiromi ususukuri — Japanese white fish sashimi — was delicate and refreshing, with candied quinoa adding an unexpected and satisfying crunch. On the meat side, the pork belly bao bun was superb: melt-in-your-mouth pork tucked inside a pillowy, perfectly steamed bun.
Every dish felt thoughtful and polished without being fussy. Hands down one of the best meals I’ve had in the area. I can’t wait to come back.“

“This was our second time dining at Ebi Sushi, and just like our first visit, everything was fantastic. The food is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared every time. Our server, Amanda, was wonderful friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. It’s service like hers that really adds to the experience. Jose, the owner, has truly outdone himself with this place. You can tell he takes great pride in what he’s built from the quality of the dishes to the amazing team that brings it all together. We’ll definitely be back again before the new location opens, and we’re looking forward to visiting that one as well. Ebi Sushi has become one of our favorite date night spots consistently great food, great people, and a great vibe. 🍣❤️“

“What an amazing place! The portions here are soooo big I loved every bite. The cheesy ramen is delicious and the yuzu one is super refreshing also delicious. The roll was incredible and very fresh salmon bowl also looked incredible, they serve it with miso. Prices are also super reasonable for the quality.“

“This is a true gem. This is our first time but will not be the last. The sushi is made to perfection. We had sushi, super fresh, udon with beef and chicken katzu. Dessert was fried ice cream!!! The place is small so reservations are recommended.“

“The food is OK-not bad, not great. The miso ramen broth is a little watery and salty at the same time (this ain’t the traditional long simmering bone broth based ramen soup) and the sliced pork (tonkatsu) was a bit tough. The lunch specials are a good price but the taste will make you wonder if it actually is. Tempura isnt the traditional Japanese batter, it’s got the premade thick layer you get from frozen pieces at the supermarket. Sushi rolls are as good as any other neighborhood sushi place. If you’re satisfied with general Asian food this is a decent spot to grab a casual meal, esp lunch. If you’re a discerning diner who can differentiate between real Japanese cuisine vs other styles, you’ll come away a little deflated. The service was great, servers were very nice. The music was really loud and started to grate on me after awhile as it repeated.“

“Lunch specials appear reasonably priced so we ordered an eel bento box and a makimono lunch. Both had a good selection of of items. There was more than enough food for two of us, quality was excellent, service was good. Tasteful decor in a small but comfortable room.“

“My first time at Akame Omakase was absolutely exceptional. Every course was carefully explained, the ingredients tasted incredibly fresh, and the entire experience felt thoughtful from start to finish.
Some of my favorite dishes were the Aki Dashi Tofu, with an incredibly rich and comforting umami broth, the Tom Kha Gai, the sweet Ebi shrimp that was simply delicious, and especially the Otoro with Uni, which completely melted in my mouth.
For $99, this omakase was an amazing experience and easily exceeded my expectations for a first omakase dinner. I’ll definitely be coming back.“

“This was one of the BEST omakase experiences I have ever had. The attention to detail was extraordinary. I ate at several two and three star Michelin restaurants last summer in France and I was happier with my dining experience at Umami. The quality of ingredients is absolutely stellar and it is truly a treat for all the senses. Go!!“

“I ate here twice this week while on a business trip. The food is excellent, but a light bulb was flickering on Sunday and was still strobe-lighting my dinner on Tuesday. It was annoying to dine under—I don’t know how the staff hasn’t gone crazy.“

“Genuinely don’t understand why this place is empty save for my family when we come in - The waiters are attentive, and the food and milk tea are both spectacular. They offer a lot more options than most sushi restaurants as well! Seems like a really lovely family business and I would definitely recommend.“

“What a cute place with fun food - the sushi is delish. The canned boba were huge hits. We ate the food so quickly we didn’t get pictures. Huge thumbs up for the crab Rangoon, skewers, and salmon sashimi and rolls! Oh and the shrimp poke bowl!“

“Don’t be fooled by the somewhat outdated interior and hole in the wall feel. The focus here is on the food!
Good quality fish, creative rolls, and efficient service. The price-to-value ratio can’t be beat. Tastes that much better with the reasonable prices. Note that you can tell the fish is not top-notch quality, but it hits all the right notes for an everyday sushi craving. Some rolls are more outstanding than others. My favorite so far was one that incorporated crunchy tempura bits into the minced tuna topping (forgot the name!).
We loved our recent visits so much that we’re getting platters from here for a holiday party. I’m pretty sure they’re going to be a hit.“

“We made reservations online for the Omaska. It was $300 which broke down to $120 per person with tip and tax. The tables were perfectly space out. They gave us a 2 hour limit which was enough time for the 12 course Omaska. Presentation on everything was amazing. Each course was fresh and delicious in their own way. It was hard to hear the man over his mask so I couldn't get any names. We had uni, tuna belly, scallops, and more. All the Courses were small but packed with favor. You can take there was attention to detail in the ingredients and presentation. Definitely, worth the money was a special event like a birthday. Would definitely come back“

“Very delicious - sushi, maki, grilled maki, mochi — all fantastic. Their wasabi is great - fresh and flavorful but not overpowering. Can with my sushi fanatic friend and they said it’s the best they’ve had in a while. Highly recommend!! Would also love to see some karaoke 🎤🪩“

“We went here on a weekday for lunch. I got a 3 roll Maki lunch special (spicy tuna, Fin's roll, and Alaska roll), and my partner got the sashimi lunch. The fish was fresh, and the presentation was nicely done. We go to this restaurant at least once a month and have never had a bad experience. The food is good, the staff are friendly, and the restaurant is a pleasant environment.“

“The Monkfish is an amazing spot! They are one of the few establishments that still hosts live jazz concerts many nights of the week. Their food is incredibly delicious, and the vibe is really nice for an evening out. We just hosted a private event there, and I couldn't believe how kind and considerate the managers and staff were to help us bring our vision to life. It was also affordable and an awesome place to have our party. Thank you Monkfish! Please go and support this restaurant.“

“When I saw the reviews for Wasabi at Porter I assumed they hired bots...
They did NOT hire bots.
They are THAT good!!!!!!!!
The food was amazing, and the tiny metal tray (for soy/wasabi) was a nice touch! This place deserves their 5-stars! New Customer = Regular Customer Now!“

“Sushi Man is easily my family’s favorite restaurant. Whenever my kids come home, this is always at the top of their list.
The fish is consistently fresh, and even the simplest cuts of sashimi are incredibly flavorful, a true testament to quality. There’s something special about a place where a plain piece of raw fish can taste this good.
It’s a cozy, intimate spot with about eight tables and some bar seating, giving it that classic mom-and-pop feel. The husband and wife owners are always warm and welcoming, and they somehow manage to find a way to accommodate you, even when it’s busy.
A true neighborhood gem that we keep coming back to again and again.“

“We tried a variety of items. The miso soup and the mushroom and onion soup were both delicious. I ordered the Philadelphia and the OMG roll. The Philadelphia comes with smoked salmon which is hard to find. Both rolls were hands down the best sushi I have had in the Greater Boston area! We also ordered the Sakura fried rice and beef with onions and peppers. They were pretty much the same you can get anywhere else. The sushi is the stand out here! The service was great. The food came out quickly and the server was very friendly. I will be more than glad to drive out of my way to come here again!“

“We had a wonderful experience at Sakura. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. One of the highlights of the meal was the sushi boat, it arrived looking like a work of art and offered a great variety of sushi and rolls, all incredibly fresh and well prepared. It’s perfect for sharing.
The shrimp fried rice was also excellent, perfectly cooked with great flavor and generous portions.
The ambiance is just okay, but the overall service was very attentive and friendly. Sakura is a great spot for delicious sushi and a relaxed casual dinner.“

“Food was great as usual. Sometimes an ingredient doesn’t show up (like mandarin oranges last night) but the flavors are great. The price is reasonable. Customization options are plentiful. Only problem last night was it took more than an hour to be delivered and we live 5 minutes away. (And no, we couldn’t get to the restaurant).“
“We always get your maki combo which is a great mix of flavors and appreciate your flexibility with my soy intolerance! Delivery was also really prompt and low price for the neighborhood.
Dietary restrictions: Were great with substitutions for a soy intolerance.“

“Basho is an incredible restaurant. The black cod is the best I’ve had and I have been around the world twice. I love your soup. The miso ramen is incredible the right amount of tofu spice and noodle makes it so delectable anything that ails you it will cure. The shrimp fried rice had nearly a dozen large shrimp in it the taste was sublime and full of vegetable, completely disheveled for easy consumption.. the pork Gyoza was just a vine, and the sauce that came with it was not salty, but added just the right amount of zippy flavor. Their cocktails are amazing and go without saying that they’re inventive and delicious as well as refreshing and light……. As always, I would will return to Basho even after these five years, it is one of the best restaurants in the fenway, and it is a must visit.!!!!!“

“Food: very solid options for sushi at a great price, especially for the area. The rolls were consistently rolled tightly and fish was generally fresh. This became our go-to spot for sushi.
Service: always received attentive, friendly service even with frequent take out orders. Felt cozy and welcoming.
Atmosphere: smaller restaurant with bathroom in the back. Generally not super crowded so doesn't feel cramped.
Overall: we enjoyed coming here a lot. The mix between the flavors, options, and prices were extremely solid.“
“I ordered pick up from Ginger Exchange on a Friday night. The service was really great and friendly and the prices were fair. Also the menu selection is wide ranging so there will be something for everyone. This is also conveniently located on a stretch of highland where there are not many other restaurants, which is great. In terms of the food itself, would love to see a bit more depth of flavor in some of the dishes like the bibimbap and noodles!“

“Everything we had was tasty, and the prices weren't too crazy. The sashimi was great, edamame was tasty, and I liked the specialty roll we got, the Hawaii roll. The only caveat is the chicken teriyaki was a bit overcooked, but it was a good portion.“
