The house fried rice was excellent- perfectly seasoned with lots of veggies and meats. Happly family was chock full of shrimp, steak, chicken and veggies in a delicious sauce. The sizzling seafood platter was beautifully presented with fresh scallops, shrimp, lobster and vegetables. The dining room was cozy with tables well spaced and lovely decor. Right from the moment we walked in, the ambiance set a high expectation with its sleek, modern decor that felt both inviting and upscale. The lighting and music were perfectly set to create a warm and relaxing atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for both romantic dinners and family gatherings. The service was impeccable from start to finish. Our server was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, offering recommendations that were spot on. It's rare to find a place where the staff is genuinely enthusiastic about their offerings, and this enthusiasm was infectious! Now, onto the star of the show - the food. Fuji at Newton offers an extensive menu that explores the rich flavors of Japanese cuisine with innovative twists that are both creative and delicious. We started with the Gyoza, which were perfectly pan-fried to a delightful crisp on the outside while remaining succulent on the inside. But the real game-changer was the sushi - each piece was a work of art, fresh and flavorful, with the sushi rice seasoned to perfection. The Dragon Roll and the Spicy Tuna Roll were particularly memorable, each bite bursting with freshness and complex flavors that danced on the palate.“

“When arriving to the place, they offer valet parking, which is pretty nice. However, I parked the first spot next to the restaurant which has a tree branch next to the curb, so I literally had to squeeze out of my way from my car, and making sure I didn’t kill the tree. That was poor a landscaping choice. As you first walk in the ambience is well put, the dimness of it makes it a great nighttime experience, but sometimes it can be too dark to see anything but I think that’s kind of the point. It gives off a Contemporary vibe for social media. The seatings near the windows are so close to each other that I could barely get into my seat across from my friend so I had to sit next to her because I didn’t want to bother the people behind, so maybe try to space out better? For the price point and food I think it was a bit underwhelming. For one you’re not gonna be expected a sized portions, it’s pork one serving if not a half. I ordered the hand roll miso scallop, which I felt like they added too much chili pepper flakes making it, overpowering the entire thing. The tuna and truffle, was underwhelming, wasn’t a huge fan of the plating, and it was okay taste. I think the flavor could do some more work in both dishes. The edamame and corn were pretty solid for bites at the bar! Don’t get me wrong, the sushi there is fresh, but it doesn’t quite meet up the expectation I had anticipated. You’re expected to spend quite an amount, but not fully ever get full off of it. I would definitely recommend for the atmosphere but food is just something that I wouldn’t gravitate towards.“

“I really fell in love with the sushi bomb roll. I ordered it from DoorDash with some vegetables rolls & both were great. It was my first time trying sushi as well from an actual restaurant so it was very Good to me. The sushi was 15 dollars & the rolls were 5 dollars in my opinion it was totally worth it. I’m going to bring my family there one of these days to try out other stuff they have.“

“We are at FlBat baby on a recent Saturday night The sushi was excellent as was the service . We had the dragon roll, tuna rice cakes and the shrimp noodles The 8 piece dragon roll was very good, with just right crunch for the tempura shrimp. My favorite was the tuna rice cakes. These bite sized pieces had a layer of tuna that melted in your mouth, along with the perfect tasting cakes which were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The only disappointment was the shrimp noodle dish. Although tasty, this shrimp in this dish were a bit tough. The noise level was too much for us but I would return on a different day.“

“writing from my hotel bed in a food coma right now. need to digest. i had shishito peppers, sashimi, house salad, miso soup - all were made gluten free. i was a little nervous reading the reviews but honestly i had no issue with gluten free availability. they were able to make some specialty roles gluten free but i stuck to the traditional maki and nigiri. we also got some tuna on fire and oh my it was like melt in your mouth salty and good. can't forget the bananas fosters. was also to be made gluten free. waiter was extremely attentive and helpful!“

“My 8 and 10 year old and I LOVED eating in the restaurant and our whole family loves it as take out and delivery. In particular, my kids loved the ramen saying it's the best they've tasted. We all loved the sushi (SO fresh) and I particularly loved giving the Sushi Chef (who I hear is a master who would love to practice his craft creatively off menu when given the chance :) my loves, preferences and any dietary constraints and he just surprised us w/delicious stuff of his own creation. It's become our favorite!“

“Stopped here for an early dinner while picking my brother up from Boston(4/9). This is the type of place I tend to enjoy. Casual spot, quick service and affordable food. Mostly students when we went.I had the chicken donburi while my brother had the poke and sushi. The chicken donburi was crispy and delicious. Lightly fried and not too greasy. Teriyaki sauce was sweet and not too overpowering. My brother enjoyed his poke and sushi as well but said the poke was just alright for the price. Nothing special. If you’re looking for a quick bite that won’t break the bank, this is a good spot. Will have to try the sushi burrito if I ever come back here.“
