I visited during a tasting event, which offered a great opportunity to sample several dishes from across the menu. The fish was beautifully prepared and expertly seasoned throughout. The standout was the black cod, perfectly balancing savory richness with just the right touch of sweetness.

The shiromi ususukuri — Japanese white fish sashimi — was delicate and refreshing, with candied quinoa adding an unexpected and satisfying crunch. On the meat side, the pork belly bao bun was superb: melt-in-your-mouth pork tucked inside a pillowy, perfectly steamed bun.

Every dish felt thoughtful and polished without being fussy. Hands down one of the best meals I’ve had in the area. I can’t wait to come back.“

The miso ramen broth is a little watery and salty at the same time (this ain’t the traditional long simmering bone broth based ramen soup) and the sliced pork (tonkatsu) was a bit tough. The lunch specials are a good price but the taste will make you wonder if it actually is. Tempura isnt the traditional Japanese batter, it’s got the premade thick layer you get from frozen pieces at the supermarket. Sushi rolls are as good as any other neighborhood sushi place. If you’re satisfied with general Asian food this is a decent spot to grab a casual meal, esp lunch. If you’re a discerning diner who can differentiate between real Japanese cuisine vs other styles, you’ll come away a little deflated. The service was great, servers were very nice. The music was really loud and started to grate on me after awhile as it repeated.“

“We made reservations online for the Omaska. It was $300 which broke down to $120 per person with tip and tax. The tables were perfectly space out. They gave us a 2 hour limit which was enough time for the 12 course Omaska. Presentation on everything was amazing. Each course was fresh and delicious in their own way. It was hard to hear the man over his mask so I couldn't get any names. We had uni, tuna belly, scallops, and more. All the Courses were small but packed with favor. You can take there was attention to detail in the ingredients and presentation. Definitely, worth the money was a special event like a birthday. Would definitely come back“

“We tried a variety of items. The miso soup and the mushroom and onion soup were both delicious. I ordered the Philadelphia and the OMG roll. The Philadelphia comes with smoked salmon which is hard to find. Both rolls were hands down the best sushi I have had in the Greater Boston area! We also ordered the Sakura fried rice and beef with onions and peppers. They were pretty much the same you can get anywhere else. The sushi is the stand out here! The service was great. “I love Takara in Medfield. The staff is wonderful. I eat here almost every week. Even during COVID, my family did take out weekly. This is my go-to restaurant. My wife takes me there as a reward!! The food is wonderful and well prepared. I think that I have tried almost everything on the menu over the years. My favorite meal is the spicy tuna avocado salad! The rest of my family enjoys the sushi, sashimi, and various maki rolls which I always help them finish. Korean inspired food is a nice twist on typical sushi. Great place with great service. “I cannot believe it took me a year to try this place!! If you’re looking for a casual, yummy, take-out lunch, definitely give this place a go! Over the past month, I’ve tried the chicken teriyaki bowl and multiple sushi rolls. Everything is so delicious, so reasonably priced, and always ready to go within just a few minutes of ordering. The portion sizes are large and reasonable for what they cost, and the service is very quick and friendly. This has definitely become one of my staple lunch spots in the area!“

“I've ordered takeout from Sushi Today twice, and the food has been delicious both times. However, the packaging could be improved. The sushi boxes were placed in a plastic bag without being secured, so they shifted around during delivery instead of staying neatly stacked.

The Uber Eats driver did his best to carry the bag carefully to prevent the containers from tipping over, but better packaging would make a big difference. Using a sturdier paper bag or securing the boxes inside the bag would help keep everything in place during transit.

Another issue I've noticed both times is that, despite ordering a large amount of sushi packed in four separate boxes, only one box came with pickled ginger (gari) and wasabi. I wish each sushi box included its own serving of wasabi and gari, as it's much more convenient when sharing or eating from different boxes.

The food is great—I just hope the restaurant improves its packaging and includes wasabi and gari with each sushi box for larger orders.“

“Decent Japanese Korean cuisine. Atmosphere gives off Asian asthestics with a water fountain at the entrance. Pricing is more on middle-high-end, so a group can easily rack up a bill of 150 to 200 dollars depending on what you select. There are reasonable amount of alcoholic choices. Dessert wise is limited. Food quality is passable, as the thin slices of meat are on the dry side, so if you have a hard time with dry over cook food, you may need sauce or condiments to compensate. One my group members commented the food taste sweet, so to be fair, Asian foods that use teriyaki sauce in their ingredients will taste sweeter than the usual Japanese and Chinese cuisine. I would like to try sushi but it usually expensive here compared to a strictly sushi restaurant. Overall this one the better quality restaurants I've been to around the Greater Boston Area.“

“My husband and I eat a Bamboo quite often. Last night we went to a function and after the party we were hungry so of course we went to Bamboo and the food was delicious as expected. They NEVER let us down.

We ordered chicken and beef skewers along with crab ragoon as dine in, and we ordered salt and pepper wings, beef fried rice, and beef and broccoli to go.

My husband gave his card to pay the bill. On the merchant copy of the receipt for the tip, he put $0.00. The waitress took the book and walked away. As her back was turned, my husband put $22 dollars in cash on the table. The waitress came back to the table and showed my husband that he put $0.00 on the merchant copy.

My husband, who is always calm, pointed to the cash on the table. Immediately, I had a bad taste in my mouth.

I definitely will return. However, I did not like that at all.“
