So far we’ve tried the grilled seared scallop dinner, grilled shrimp dinner, grilled salmon dinner and grilled haddock dinner which were delicious. Perfect amount of seasoning and doneness. Lobster rolls are good too. Crab cakes weren’t the best but that’s not what New England is known for so can’t hold it against them. This tiny Japanese fish market is just a couple minutes away and I’ve somehow failed to visit them until very recently. I guess it has a lot to do with not craving fish for the last year BUT when the first hint of desire for seafood returned, their name immediately popped up in my mind.I’ve been back several times since the initial visit. Their variety of sashimi grade fish as well as specials in their frozen section (fish trimmings and fish heads) definitely suit my personal culinary preferences. On top of that, they actually provide a chirashi service (for a dollar) where they slice the fish you purchased and lay it atop sushi rice for you. This allows you to fully customize your chirashi bowls according to what you crave in the very moment.Friendly people, fresh ingredients, decently priced. The attendant was attentive and kind.Clam chowder was thick and yummy ($10) I ordered the keto plate ($40) the bread with butter was complimentary. The tips from keto board were tender juicy and divine the rainbow cauliflower and broccolini were cooked perfectly and so was the shrimp but the chicken breast was not to my liking the texture was off tasted like precooked Perdue chicken that was grilled and cut into strips too rubbery to me and chimmi churri sauce although I mixed it was just oily no flavor other that that everything was great.“

“Hidden in the residential area is the best lobster roll I have ever eaten! The weather was nice last weekend, so this lobster lover finally came to check out the lobster roll at this seafood shop. Lobster sandwich: It is obviously just ordinary bread, but it is fried until fragrant and then filled with thick fresh lobster meat. It only needs simple seasoning - a little mayonnaise, salt, black pepper and green onions to highlight the freshness and sweetness of the lobster. The bread is fried in butter but not greasy, and the cold lobster meat tastes fresh and chewy, not fishy at all, and basically uses the meat from the lobster body, unlike the lobsterroll in many restaurants that is cooked with tongs. It tasted so delicious, so I asked specifically, thinking that some magical sauce was added to the seasoning, but I didn't expect it to be that simple. wonderful! (The price is slightly more expensive now, $35 each.)After finishing one, I bought a second one and continued eating it in the evening.From now on, I will eat here probably once a week, it is very good! !I went and bought two more yesterday^ ^ Delicious!“
“We had the cold style lobster roll and while pricey, it was really good. Nice, chunky bits in the lobster roll. The meat had a nice sweet quality that's indicative of lobster from Cape Cod. Set against a backdrop of a modern lounge vibe, complete with high ceilings, Porto seemed like an ideal spot for date nights. As advertised, their menu featured a blend of Italian pasta and Mediterranean seafood dishes.We started off our meal with the Crispy Calamari. It was a decent appetizer that aligned with the typical offerings of a modern Italian restaurant. Its seasoning was a tad overbearing, but it still set a nice tone for the meal.From their pasta selections, we opted for theWild Mushroom Mafalde and the Wild Boar Cocoa Pappardelle. The Pappardelle boasted a tender boar ragu with umami from Manchego, but it unfortunately suffered from a lack of cohesion. The pasta itself was slightly undercooked and lacked depth in flavor, failing to fully harmonize with the ragu. On the other hand, the Mafalde was enjoyable. The combination of garlic butter and Aleppo pepper introduced a welcomed acidity, and the interplay of textures between the al dente Mafalde and the succulent mushrooms was particularly satisfying.The highlight of the evening was the Seared Bronzino. Unlike many other Branzino dishes I've tried in Boston, which often fell flat in flavor, Porto’s rendition was masterfully-seasoned. Each bite struck a perfect balance between salinity and the sweet nuances of the squash purée.While Porto may not be the best Mediterranean spot in Back Bay, its seafood offerings, particularly the Seared Bronzino, make it worth a return visit. My fiance and I have driven by countless times and always say how we would love to stop in one day for a meal, well, we finally did and after dinner agreed this was easily one of the best meals we’ve had so far in 2024!The inside of the restaurant is so warm and welcoming with dark wood and leather throughout and when we were seated by the fireplace, that is attended to all night, we were introduced to our server, Andrea, who has worked at the Coach Grill for 23 years! She shared some of the lore of the restaurant and guided us through the menu pointing out popular dishes and her favorites, many that are original recipes (like the corn pudding, Andrea told us that people come just for that side dish!)Here’s a rundown of our order:- NEGRONI - gin, campari, vermouth- MAINE LUNCH IPA- CALAMARI MILANO - fried or grilled, garlic, parmesan, basil aioli (order this ‘grilled’ - the calamari and peppers are put in a grill basket over charcoal and it is a gamechanger, I may never order fried calamari again!)- BEEF WELLINGTON - filet mignon, mushroom duxelles, sauce périgueux- BONE-IN RIBEYE with GREEN BEANS and CORN PUDDING- CISCO BREWERS GREY LADY- PROFITEROLES - pate a choux puff, ice cream, chocolate sauceThe servings were large and so delicious, we enjoyed our dinner at the restaurant and leftovers the next night!
