“J and J is my families new spot for Asain tasty treats. Jean is a fantastic owner. She makes you feel like family from the time you enter the establishment. Sushi was fresh and delicious. They even made a special chicken tempura roll for my wife and added it to their POS ordering system for future visits. We call it the Elisabet roll named after my wife of course. My kids smashed every morsel of food on their plates which is especially rare for my picky 6 year old daughter who just loved her fried rice and Salmon. Kids meals are adult size so it's a great value . I had two Scorpion ? Bowls which got me feeling pretty lively. I imagine moving forward we will be doning weekly at J & J . Jean and staff thanks for the wonderful time.Blessings,Phillips Family“
“This was my first time here and it won't be my last! The service, food, and cocktails were outstanding. It is a clean, and quaint restaurant tucked in a strip mall in Middleton with ample parking. The portions were hearty and seasoned just right. It is also reasonably priced. The fried dumplings, lettuce/chicken wraps, boneless spare ribs, stuffed eggplant, and scallops with fresh vegetables over noodles were all so delicious.“
“When I was a young teen 2 decades ago, living on allowances, this was the spot I hit up. I think at the time the combo was like $2.50 or something and I’ve never seen a line there. I use to go strictly for curry chicken with white rice. It was never the best curry, but it hits the spot on a tight budget. Today, I had an urge to pick up some pork bao to eat omw home, so I stoped by Chinatown to hit up bao bao bakery. At the corner of my eyes, I peeped Ding Ho and nostalgia rushed into my bones. As I approach the dinged up spot waiting in line outside the restaurant, I can’t help but wonder how much more expensive would it be now versus 20 years ago, considering inflation. My goodness… $6 for 2 side combo. WHAAAT? 2024. And it’s $6. I ended up with two sides of protein, 3 spring rolls and 1 Peking ravioli…. THATS $9.50. Hands down the best place to go in this economy. I don’t even care about the flavor. I got seasoning at home that can fix it up.(I ate a spring roll omw home)“
“Truly a hidden gem at the edge of Chinatown. Incredibly flavorful claypot rice that easily beat many street vendors in Asia. The selection is wide, treatment is simple, homemade. The place is small, so expect to be crowded when busy. Owner/waiter very friendly and welcoming, and attentive. I highly recommend this to locals and visitors alike. I certainly will have many more visits to sample many other interesting items on the menu.“
“Been there 3 times already and will continue to go. Food is great and tastes authentic (even if the design of the dishes feels somewhat formulaic).Milk and fruit tea options are a great combo with the spicy dishes.Vibe is minimalistic and modern, which fits the theme.I think the only thing they need is to update their marketing strategy to become more localized and attract more regular customers. As it stands it still feels like a brand imported from overseas.“
“Quick service! Friendly staff! Inside was decently spacious and had dimmer lighting. Got the beef noodle soup and the noodles were nice, soup not too spicy, the beef was very thinly sliced and tender, also had lots of daikon that soaked up all the flavor. Solid bowl of noodle soup“
“Nice little restaurant/bar off rt1 my son brought me here and I have to say I was amazed at how good the food was and at night they do karaoke ? where you can sing right from your seat it was so much fun I would Definitely Recommend checking it out with your friends for a fun night out uou won't be disappointed we had a blast and the food and service was great really friendly and good people. I will definitely be returning.Wheelchair accessibility: Yes“
“Sugar cane is one of the best restaurants I've ever been to in this area if you like Chinese food you need to visit this place Kevin is wonderful the food is incredible if you do not see it on the menu don't be afraid to ask they will cater to your needs!!“
“Great place in Chinatown to dine with a group. They offer all you can eat hot pot with lots of meat, veggie and seafood options at a great price. They give you plenty of food and keep it coming if you request more. It’s a bit rundown inside but the food is good and the service is great.“
“The fried rice was exceptionally fresh, the ingredients were lively, and the appetizers were well-cooked but not dried out like some other restaurants that do not emphasize that particular detail. The service was excellent and the only downside in my opinion is the small stature of the restaurant itself. Other than that, you can't go wrong.“
“Recommended!! New fav hotpot buffet spot in Malden! >> Reasonable price + Clean + Fresh + Yummy + warm service???The bone broth and spicy butter broth are awesome. The meats are tender and delicious. The sweet sticky rice in buffet menu is yummm. Also we tried the meat in the screwers today (a la carte). It's good as well.Overall, Definitely come back ?“
“Third time here, but dine in this time.4 ⭐️ for Roujiamo?3 ? for noodles2 ⭐️ for parking. Very hard to find parking.Ordered Lai Mei Zi Pork Rou Jia Mo?, Cumin Beef Rou Jia Mo? will not order Cumin Beef again is a little bit salty with some pepper in it. Lai Mei Zi Pork is better, might order again.ordered Liangpi with spicy sauce and normal sesame sauce. The spicy one is fine, but just spicy not 香, I will not order again. Maybe try normal sesame sauce again. Also ordered fried noodles, which is fine and a little bit salty, will not order again.“
“The new golden gate is part of Chinatown history tracing back to its original days as the "golden gate". When they added the new, it wasn't quite the same but they still do one thing well, is cooking Chinese style roast beef. Other restaurants sell roast beef, but they don't do quite as good of a job. Chinese roast beef is sliced rib eye that is quickly seared in a wok with a brown sauce. You can customize it and have it over rice or in black bean sauce with pickled vegetables but my go to as pictured is roast beef and tomatoes chow mein in black bean sauce. It's something you wouldn't find on the menu but if you ask them to make it, well at least in Chinese as I've never tried in English, they'll be able to make it.“
“What a nice lil Gem. Great food & prices reasonable, 5.00 more after 3pm on lunch though ?. It seems like everyone knows each other & the staff. Highly recommend to try.Parking: Main Road, plenty of parking In lotWheelchair accessibility: No stairs“
“It feels like Hong Kong restaurants are all homemade and not frozen. You can eat shredded radish in radish cake?Shrimp dumplings and siomai are both thin-skinned and elastic with fillings~The beef louvers are very fresh but it takes a long time to chew hahaThe rice rolls are also delicious and the portions are large.Maybe we left the crispy quicksand buns too long before eating them, and the fillings were a bit solid. They were very filling and very filling after eating them. The one that I'm a little bit offended about is the fried taro dumplings. The filling is a bit boring and the taro paste doesn't feel like much seasoning, but it's very crispy. The wait was really long at 11 a.m. on Sunday ? An hour at least. You may have to arrive early to wait for a table on weekends“
“Tried it for the first time today. I really enjoyed the Hot Sour hand pulled noodle soup. I got extra noodles and medium spice. I will definitely be ordering again. The broth was packed with flavor, it all arrived hot and well packed. Give it a try.“
“The food is delicious! The prices weren’t high. They have plenty of choices to order from! I highly suggest this place for somewhere to eat for lunch or dinner!Vegetarian options: There are steamed veggies!Kid-friendliness: There are many options for children including, chicken nuggets and French fries!“
“Been here several times, the food is consistent and never disappointing. At times waiters have to be called over again and again, but apart from that this is a very good place to have dim sum at all hours. Pretty cool to see how at lunch time the staff sits down and prepares an off menu meal to share with each other.“
“Food is delicious here. Love chicken feet and pork & shrimp shumai. I just don't like the parking opposite side of the restaurant. They are scamers. The public parking that charge you $5 every 30 min. I went into the parking and parked one spot. The stamp ticket already counted 5 minute once you drive in. I gave $10 for 1 hr parking and they asked fr $30 deposit. I gave them total $40. I came back with in 55min. They gave me back only $20 and said I only gave them $30 total. So they charge $10 and return me $20 even before I left the car I confirmed that I gonna get $30 back right. They said yes but never did in reality. So be careful. Park somewhere else. They earn a lot in a day by doing that. If u wanna park they, record the video when give them money!! It happened on Mar 30,2024 13:38pm.“
“Excellent food excellent service. I would have to say the best Chinese Food in this area and I do mean this is a big area has been this way for years and years. save yourself a lot of time and money and go there here first can't beat the prices and the quality of food. Everything from the service to the food no place can compare to here“
“I visited here on a work trip for a quick dinner because this is a highly recommended place in Chinese community. The food was great and tasty. Ordered the most two popular dishes clay pot rice 煲仔饭 and soft tofu 玉子豆腐. Both were amazing and the price is so reasonable. The best part is that they accept card. They get very busy and it may take some time for them to bring food. I waited for 30mins.“
“We had the pleasure of savoring a delightful dinner experience at Gaga (嘉嘉) Seafood Restaurant nestled within Boston's vibrant Chinatown. Our culinary choices led us to two exquisite dishes: the "Braised Clayton Mutton with Radish" and the Salt and Pepper Squid. The mutton dish, thoughtfully seasoned to perfection, struck an impeccable balance that pleased the palate without overwhelming it with saltiness. The radish, expertly prepared, offered a delightful crunchiness while exuding a pleasing infusion of flavors. The Salt and Pepper Squid, undoubtedly a highlight of the meal, showcased remarkable freshness and a meticulous level of cooking that maintained its tenderness and flavor profile. The squid arrived neither undercooked nor overdone, a testament to the chef's skill in the kitchen. Furthermore, the affordability of the menu pleasantly surprised us, as the prices were notably reasonable given the outstanding quality of the dishes. Adding to the positive experience was the restaurant staff, who were not only efficient but also notably courteous, enhancing the overall dining atmosphere. Should you find yourself in Boston Chinatown, Gaga Seafood Restaurant is undoubtedly a gem worth discovering, offering an amalgamation of exquisite flavors, reasonable pricing, and exceptional service.“
“Go with a laugh in mind! It is rated low, but the food is fantastic. Restaurant needs a little doing up, but the rest of the reviews are due to the service. The service isn’t the normal American friendly, but it’s efficient and a very funny laugh! Honestly, the best laugh with friends I’ve had in a long time! Think Karen diner, but definitely not implied and they are friendly underneath!“
“I got the lunch special boneless spareribs that comes with pork fried rice, also 6 chicken teriyaki skewers for total of $20. The skewers really worth the money as they’re big pieces, very juicy and tender. As for the rice box $9 is a bit pricey for the spareribs. They were so dry and hard with no flavor. However, the fried rice itself was great. Still super full after throwing out the spareribs and still leftover. Not much expected from these Chinese fast food takeouts but can be cheap enough for a quick meal. They no longer have tables for dine in option. But the owner seems friendly“
“After seeing the menu i decided to go in & even though a few things werent available i got the custard buns & mini dough which were good. The waiter was attentive & even though at the end he picked the tip % , good thing I looked but didn't mind giving itVegetarian options: Vegetables section & appetizers“
“This is my go to place when I'm looking for a standard takeout Chinese food restaurant. I don't think this is where you would go for authentic Chinese food, this is your classic Americanized Chinese food joint. The food is good and consistent. The portions are generous and the service is quick. The prices are standard and reasonable. I have never dined in, I always do takeout. Delivery is also pretty quick.“
“After reading many one-star reviews, I feel they are unfair. This is the best Chinese restaurant I have ever eaten in Boston. Although I don’t know how the American-style Chinese food on the other side of the menu is doing, the Sichuan food is definitely delicious. The boss is also very “
“Best Chinese food around love this gem and the servers are amazing. I go maybe 2x a week with the kids and it never gets old. Best lo main period food is always piping hot and the service is fast. Also drinks are sting and delicious.Wheelchair accessibility: Nice reamp zero steps.“
“Food is the best and Joe and his staff are friendly , happy to have you come in or pickup/delivery !! Eggs rolls are the best ones ever and the vegetable fried rice , chicken & vegetables . My family lived in Peabody for many years and have since moved away but still drive "home" to get our favorite . Have a Mai Tai while you are waiting for your food !! Consistently great food , WE LOVE THIS PLACE !!“
“Phenomenal, I come here at least once a month, best asian food in Boston, the the staff are wonderful people, they gave me a tote bag to take my food home in. Good food, and when you ask for something spicy it’s actually spicy, and the black truffle soup dumplings are the best, highly recommend. I’ll come here again and keep coming.“
“I have been coming to Hei La Moon for weekend dim sum carts for over 12 years. (See the picture at the very end from 2013). The food quality ranges from very good to excellent, with the one exception being the pork buns, which I would rate as simply “good”. The shine on them is very nice, but the pork filling is not as generous as some other places. The dumplings are always on the medium- large size, compared to some restaurants, so for the price point, I think we are getting a good deal. In fact, I have seen some of the reviews compare the pricing and say it’s high, but based on other dim sum restaurants we've been to, the dumplings here are larger and, thus, priced correctly for their size.Service was really spotty. Never received anyone coming to our table to ask if we wanted anything. I probably would have ordered Bubble tea. We had to flag somebody down for water, and they never came, so we had to flag somebody else down. But we loved the fact that hot tea was on the table when we arrived. (The spotty service is the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5).The carts came by with good frequency. At some places, they all come at once at the beginning, or you find yourself waiting for carts near the end of a meal, but these came with a nice frequency.I tried chicken feet here for the first time, and they were delicious! On my list to try for years! Did I use my fingers? Yes. Was it probably rude? Yes. But I was really trying to navigate eating them for the first time. Next time I will tackle them with chopsticks! The decor has changed over the years, and I love the decor now. The black and white floor is beautiful, and it seems bright and airy and cheerful. We are usually just a party of two or four, but it’s wonderful to know that they accommodate larger parties. We see lots of larger parties at the bigger tables enjoying themselves. We will come back each time we are in Boston. It is always a priority to come on the weekends for rolling carts.Parking: Don’t try to park in Chinatown! Take the orange line to the Chinatown stop and walk a couple of blocks.“
“I dined out but had forgot about this hidden gem. Great Chinese food and great prices. Service with a smile and a fortune cookie! Thank you Jade for great food! I’m sorry I forgot you were there! Will be back many times over to make up for it!“
“I had the hot and sour soup it was excellent and very fast delivery to the table I also ordered a 16 piece chef sushi sampler that was also excellent and pretty quick. I had more than enough to eat for the price and the amount of sushi they got me. I would highly recommend this place.“
“Absolutely the best Chinese food in the area (Danvers Peabody Middleton) so fresh large portions and everything is delicious as a family not one time have we had a bad meal, only thing: they LOAD you with food like you will definitely have leftover food! Enjoy !Vegetarian options: Veggie lo mein is awesome they will accommodate“
“My husband and I brought our friends here for dinner after my place of employment had a Christmas party here and I had the food here. My friends and my husband were so impressed with our overall experience, the cocktails were excellent, the service was top notch and the food was by far the BEST Chinese food we have ever eaten. The lemon shrimp was absolutely amazing!! We will definitely be returning.“
“AMAZING!!! Best place in Chinatown !!!Get the spicy salted fried pork chop!I got this recommendation from a Lyft driver from Hong Kong (Kenny, was his name?) he said he was friends with the owner of this place?Anyways, a group of us were working at the convention center in town, and we decided to walk here….All five of us were completely dumbfounded at how amazing this food was! I don’t think any of us knew that there was Chinese food that tasted like this. Lol!Thanks so much for the amazing service, and the great food ! If I’m in Boston again, I will come here!“
“The best char siu in Chinatown!Duck, chicken and pork belly are also very good. Scallion dipping sauce is a must.Service can be a bit brusque at times but don’t let that bother you. The food is well worth it.Take out & cash only. Highly recommended.“
“New menu new owner. I went there when it was Billy gs the new owner from the original was not great food. But a new owner took over and he has done a great job in freshness off food new staff which is very good. The drinks were excellent and the food is made to order and very fresh. I complimented the owner will be going there again.“
“This is one of my old haunts the drinks are fantastic. The people are very friendly my wife and I go there quite a bit. She likes to play the keno and scratch the tickets out by her she likes to win specially when she's using my money try their steak tips.“
“General Gau's was different than my normal experiences in the last 10 years…. It wasn’t bad, it had like a breading on the chicken that tasted like a plain donut …. But wasn’t too bad…. Egg roll was fantastic…. Very friendly staff. Nice inside and out.“
“This place is near my home and quite convenient. I do like the food and find it quite tasty. The sushi variety is vast and the Chinese food is delicious and not overly cooked. I often order takeout. The atmosphere can feel cold and lonely so I think I might try sitting at the bar when I go there next. I know this is might feel minor but I am miffed that you have to buy white rice with dishes that normally come with rice, such as General Tso Chicken. And it's $4 so that's not to be taken lightly. So I don't order as often as I would like because my husband takes offense to this, as do I.“
“I love this place so much, I've been going here for years and years and years. They never seem to fail me. I think their prices are amazing and their food is delicious. Also one time, back in like 2012, they let me use the bathroom and I had to go so bad and I had no car no transportation and wasn't eating at the restaurant.. i think it was because i was pregnant but either way they let me use there bathroom so I'll always be grateful they did that.“
“Dining in was a calming experiencing, nice soothing lighting, waiter was very attentive and calm, ordered for two people, one child, and total came out out to just under $100 (and we ordered a fair amount of food) quality was there, will eat there again !“
“This place is fantastic. The people are nice, and the food is the best chinese food I’ve found in the area. Only issues are that it isn’t wheelchair accessible, and, if you’re looking for a sit-down place, the seating is very out in the open with bright lights.Still the best chinese food around.Wheelchair accessibility: it is not wheelchair accessible“
“The a la carte hibachi is by far their best offering there so if you're going, make sure you go for their hibachi. The first time I went there I had it mild spice since my colleagues had limited spice tolerance. On my last visit with my friend, I had it extra spicy and it dramatically improve the taste and flavor. The pea pod stem was really good as well but other traditional Chinese dishes were just average or slightly below average. It's pricier than other nearby Chinese restaurants so unless I'm going for hibachi I would rather go to other places. For traditional Chinese, it's hard to beat Jade Garden.“
“Fantasy Island is the best restaurant of its kind in the area. The pork fried rice is amazing, and the large is… LARGE. It’s a meal in itself. Every dish I have tried here has been awesome. My absolute favorite is the curry chicken… so flavorful and spicy. I’ve eaten here several times and have never had a bad meal. The staff is super friendly and helpful too. I highly recommend Fantasy Island!“
“The tomato noodle soup with sirloin beef was incredible! They gave such generous portions of beef, and it was so tender it was falling apart in the soup. The broth was rich and flavorful, and the noodles cooked perfectly. Don't sleep on the popcorn chicken either! Great service and ambiance as well.“
“Absolutely authentic Sichuan hotpot, Sichuan BBQ, Sichuan snacks. Refresh my memory of childhood and my grandmother's cooking. Food is very fresh! Service is great! Environment is very clean and tidy! Strongly recommend this restaurant.“
“Best Chinese food around without a doubt!!!! I’ve been a lot of places searching for good Chinese food and this is the place!!! Service is great, food is hot and plentiful. Always leftovers. Always order from Hong Kong express! When you schedule a pick up time just expect to be waiting about 10-15 minutes for it.Vegetarian options: Sesame tofu is great!!!“
“I love Chinese and Japanese cuisine, and I found both here as either dine-in, pickup, or delivery. When I dine there with friends, it is a happy place where waiters make sure you are enjoying the food and having a fun time. Service is courteous and quick. If I order delivery, the service is FAST, the food is HOT, and the delivery person is there with a SMILE, always. The food is delicious, and the selections are interesting. Trust me, you will be very full and well satisfied with all that the Gourmet Garden staff has to offer you.Dietary restrictions: If you are following some diet restrictions, the menu has options to suit and appeal to everyone, regardless if you are a vegetarian, can't have salt in your food, or must eat steamed meals only. The menu truly addresses all different options of food preparation that are sure to please any patron that may be on a diet and/or a restriction.“
