“We have recently become consistent diners at the Federal. The menu is a mix of amazing Italian pastas with great steaks and seafood. I have not disliked anything. I have tried. Best pasta and clams I have had in a while! Look forward to going again!“

“I have been going to Grassfields for many years and have been very pleased. The past few times I have been there I ordered the broiled scallops and have been disappointed. The muscle on the scallops are not removed which are very tough to eat. Also I feel they are gritty. I am hoping that someone reads this and corrects the issue because Grassfields is a lovely place.“

Shared it all between two people and took home all leftovers, and I can’t believe I’m writing this but NO complaints. I have a hard time with beef/chicken often tasting a little gamey or subtly foul at other restaurants. It’s something that with enough seasoning, I don’t think most pick up on because I’ve usually been alone in that observation. However, the meat was clearly clean, seasoned with ginger which helped enhance all the other flavors, and then the beef with broccoli sauce. It was just amazing.

Parking: You’ll usually find street parking, might take a loop at most but if you’re having trouble, park at the paid parking lot off Walnut Street and walk 2 blocks.“

“Went to this restaurant after seeing it featured on Phantom Gourmet and my husband and myself left full of good food. The food was tasty and came to our table ready to eat and the service was great! They gave us everything we needed in a timely manner. The restaurant was on a smaller scale but we got a table pretty quickly without making a reservation. We even had the dessert of the strawberry shaved ice which had a bowl that was big enough to easily feed the two of us and it was very delicious!“

“Best Chinese I’ve ordered since moving to Waltham! Everything is super flavorful and portions are big- I had enough for 3 meals. It was ready within 15 minutes of order and tasted fresh. Counter service super friendly too, they made sure to wait until I was there to give me my drink from the fridge so it stayed cold which I thought was nice. Second time ordering here and both times were great!“

“We went to Eddie V's for my wife's birthday celebration. It was our first visit to this restaurant and we very pleased with the meal, the service and the atmosphere. Our server, Darrell Townsend was excellent! He was very knowledgeable and helpful with our choices and offered special birthday complimentary extras. We got a champagne toast and dessert. The meal was a bit expensive but we knew that this was a high end restaurant and you get what you pay for. A great birthday experience!“

Have driven by hundreds of times......not sure what I was thinking....it took figuring out that you can't get Alaskan King crab legs at Legal Seafoods to force me to try this place out. Took an order to go. A+ yes messy....very messy the middle Hot sauce was excellent and everywhere. Good fun. Shared as an appetizer and we all agree Good stuff. They have "All you can Eat" on Sat and Sun I believe for $30 so a great deal. We will try again. Tiny place maybe 10-12 tables so use OpenTable. I tried Boston they did not have anything for 3-4 days at 7pm. Also had a Brookline reservation. There are ~24 locations in 8-10 states.“

I needed to organize a nice dinner for 15 people for my son's birthday. The whole process was absolutely flawless - from initial contact with Igor who took care of all the planning and setup. When we arrived to the restaurant everything was ready and we were treated with utmost attention. The dinner was served family style and we had a chance to pick our menu selections to be shared. The swordfish pastrami was smoked and creamy. It tasted like an upscale turkey pastrami. Loved it with the pickles and hint of mustard. The “stuffie” croquettes were fried and cheesy. Again very rich and creamy. The Ox tail with creamed corn polenta was so good. It’s a do not miss perfect for splitting. And of course the butter lobster roll with fries and dressed oysters were also a must try. Bacon, butter, beef, and seafood. It’s rich but very satisfying when it’s cold and fall is upon us. I'm somewhat of a regular, but my sister and brother in law were visiting from out west and I brought them for dinner here on Saturday night. Olivia, our server, was the best- she managed to balance giving us space with checking in just the right amount, and her thoughtful, funny demeanor truly made our visit even more great. Also, the gentleman at the door (I unfortunately didn't catch his name) was wonderful. He offered me many options for seating while the restaurant was quite full, but shortly afterwards he offered a better spot with a fantastic view when it became available. “I was in the mood for sweet sauce… I ordered a small with extra cheese and extra mushrooms. Matt greeted me, cashier was so sweet, told them this was my first time at this location- I always went to Lawrence and Salisbury. I got home and was sad - their version of sweet sauce is not my cup of tea and that’s okay. The mushrooms were huge and fresh, cheese all bubbly… crust literally as good/may be better than Alexander’s- Lexington… I called, he was understanding and apologized, I said, no need to - I mentioned - Beverly - he literally finished the sentence with me #WickedPizzaUsesGrapeJelly lol .. anyways - there is a credit - looking FWD to trying out something else. I read many reviews, and it’s a toss up between cheese steak extra mushrooms or the 3-way roast beef medium.

Being more familiar with Spanish shrimp dishes, the Camarón al Ajillo was a different take that was really well executed. I want to bathe in the Aji del Gallino. The floral flavors of the Aji peppers and other warm spices combined to make a new comfort food for me. The mousse de lacuma was a nice easy to finish the meal. Would definitely go back.“

Menu was just right in terms of limited offerings but covered the bases. Oysters served exceptionally well - on the halfshell with 4 accoutrements on a bed of ice with small fork and spoon; lemon in mesh bag. That's the way you do it. Upscale dining for sure and not breaking the bank for comparable places -but not better- like Capitol Grill or Eddie V's . Cocktails looked to be super but I'm a straight up martini guy; there, glass could have been colder. Otherwise, this is the place. Final positive note -not a kid in sight or earshot.“

“Casual Szechuan noodle bar that offers comforting flavors.

Szechuan cuisine has always been popular, but the competition in Allston has really been heating up lately. While MH holds the popularity crown by a wide margin, spots like Little Tao often get overshadowed. I've dropped by Little Tao a few times for lunch, and for a place that proudly advertises zero MSG, the flavors were bold.

Little Tao’s signature dishes are undoubtedly their Szechuan noodles, like the Chengdu noodles and Twice Cooked Pork noodles. Each bowl comes bathed in rich chili oil, with savory meat toppings adding that salty/umami punch. Despite the generous pour of chili oil, the spice level is actually pretty manageable. My only gripe? The noodles weren’t fully drained, which thinned out the flavors a bit.

From their regular Szechuan menu, I’ve tried the Mapo Tofu, Pickled Fish Fillet, and Braised Beer Duck. The first two were solid—not the best I’ve had around here, but still good. The Braised Beer Duck, though, was a different story; it was more of a chore than a meal. They serve it chopped bone-in, with barely any meat on the pieces, so I was pretty much left with picking around more bones than bites.

Overall, ia great spot to swing by for some straightforward, comforting Szechuan noodles. While I haven’t fully explored the rest of their menu, I’d suggest sticking with the noodles.“
