“Many people have described this place as the best pizza in DC. While it is good and definitely has that classic NYC style, it was not five star pizza. I got the Classic Pepperoni signature pizza with burrata and hot honey - very tasty.
I got it for takeout which may have also contributed to quality of the pie. A really nice touch was that they put the buratta and hot honey on the side, which kept the pizza crispier while I brought it home.
I hope to try a fresh slice at the restaurant someday soon. They have lots of selection between their own creations and the classics. If you are in DC and craving pizza, give them a try!
Parking: Parking here is difficult“

“I came here during my lunch break on a weekday. All the pizza options were available and I got the buffalo chicken slice. I don't make that much $, but the pricing was totally worth it. ($6 I believe) The pictures don't do it justice, but if you like NY style thin crust with that grease drip, you'll love this. The crust had that dough bubble that I love, and you could hear the crunch echo throughout the cafeteria. I would love to see some gluten-light offerings in the future but for now? A quick bite for good quality? You won't be disappointed.“

“I came to Minya’s Pizza with my family after hearing about the restaurant on Fox News, and since we were visiting from out of state, we knew we had to stop by. The pizza was absolutely delicious, and we also tried the traditional breakfast (ful), which was so flavorful. What really made the experience special was the service, Rahel took such great care of us and made us feel so welcome. The ambience was beautiful, with all the pictures and artwork of Asmara adding such a warm and authentic touch, truly making me feel like I was back home. Everything about our visit was wonderful, and we’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in DC! Thank you Raheley for the wonderful service! Wishing you all the best.“

“**updated to 5 stars they’ve made the change and now seal it
I LOVE their pizza! The Macha Ron is to die for! The kale Cesar is delicious The only thing is I wish when you ordered through delivery that they taped the box close so that you know it’s sealed/safe, giving them 4 stars for that. Hoping an owner/manager sees this so they make the change“

“We are tourist & was searching for a place too eat since our first choice for dinner totally ignored us after we sat there 30 minutes we left. This pizza joint is absolutely delicious. The thin crust was delicious especially on the cheese pizza. The only negative thing I have too say is y’all charging too much for a house salad. I mean if you gonna charge $14 @ least give me something other than basic lettuce.“

“Our dining experience deserves the 5 star I rated. 1) our food (chicken wings, burger and gluten free pizza) was cooked to perfection, 2) the service was to die for, 3) the chef personally address my wife's food allergy and her accommodating my wife convinced us this restaurant really cares about patrons dining experience and 4) this restaurant proves that cleanliness is next to Godliness.
A special thanks goes out to Chef Kianni, Server Ki and Server Nubia.
F.Y.I.: This was our first time visiting this restaurant and we will return again and bring our family and friends.“

“This place is what a “grab n go” pizza slice spot should be. Excellent pizza (Detroit style slice with pepperoni and hot honey was delicious), very fast, and a cozy atmosphere to listen to Katy Perry on the speakers for five minutes before getting on with your day. 10/10.“

“I have loved many pizza places. None of them has been as consistently amazing as Martha Dear. The guanciale and arugula pie I had last night is another utterly stunning iteration. I will think about this one in my sleep. I will crave it. As much as I will stand on a soapbox telling anyone who will listen that Martha Dear is not just THE best pizza in the DMV, but one of the best restaurants in the area, it is the conspicuously kind service that is the first thing I will mention. If you’ve never been, put Martha Dear at the very top of your restaurant to-do list. The very top.“

“Thank you so much for having my friends Kristina, Alex and I for dinner today. I just want to say that everything we had was great, my favorite being the la calabrese! Meiling took such good care of us, she is a wonderful host and we had some great conversations with her. We’ll def be back in the future to try some of the other pizzas. Your decor and ambience is fantastic as well, I really felt like I was at restaurant in Italy! Keep up the good work and thanks again for a wonderful evening!“

“Hot take — More restaurants need to be deaf-owned. I can't stand going to a restaurant and having to scream at the person next to me to have a conversation. Surprisingly, there was still music, but they're not blasting it.
The pizza and wine were delicious and paired great with each other! You're not going there for the finest of either, but they're also not cutting corners. We ordered a second margherita pizza immediately after ordering the first one.
Our server was Esmerelda and she was patient with my slow caveman-quality ASL. I was able to mention that it was my friend's birthday and with an ID confirmation, the staff got together and signed "happy birthday," which was a nice and sweet surprise!
I would totally recommend this place for anyone looking for a light meal without breaking the bank. No need to be intimidated by the language barrier either. You can easily point at what you want, but if you want to make more of an effort, you can scan the QR codes at the table to view animated GIFs of the staff signing things you might request like, "beer", "wine", or "parmesean cheese" — the essentials!“

“A very inviting corner restaurant, great for people watching and cocktails. The drinks were nice and the atmosphere was lux. We went on a Saturday and it just felt like they needed a manager around. Felt like they were really understaffed and not ready for the crowds. There were some people who had worked there longer and were directing others, and the food did come out of the kitchen timely. But there wasn't a sense of table service really, you just catch them when you can, know the candle won't get lit even after you asked and teach the server how to swipe the card. I wish they had someone tending to things, but maybe when it's slower it will be better. The pizza was good, and lots of pepperoni. I wished it wasn't quite as soggy in the middle but it tasted good. And the burrata had no flavor, no nice olive oil or pepper, very bland, but it was a hearty portion. Can't complain about the drinks. I can sense when there's no service concept so I hope they get it together.“

“We love Washington DC so my wife and I wanted some pizza. We were staying at the Embassy suites in NW so I googled pizza that was close by. Pizzoli‘s pizzeria came up. It looked good so we took an Uber there and the pizza was excellent. We ordered a simple pepperoni pizza and my wife and I both thoroughly enjoyed it. Made from scratch good. We were a little bit surprised in that it was a smaller establishment as we thought we were going to a place that had lots of tables, etc. This place has one inside table and five or six countertops to eat at and then they have several tables outside but as noted, the food was fantastic. Would certainly recommended, and we will be back home future visits.“
“This place feels like home. From truly heartfelt New York style pizza to a very wide selection of drinks and spectacular service, Protest Pizza is a safe space in the D.C. bubble. This place feels part museum, part night club, part late-night munchies that does not quit. Get yourself a slice (I highly recommend the sit-in!)“

“This was great compared to pizza we get in Colorado. Thin crust, plenty of toppings and they were sliced big so you could actually tell what you were eating.“

“The place is super small so have a backup plan - they don’t take reservations for parties smaller than *4. Luckily, they do takeout as well. I think I’d just do takeout going forward. The veggie supreme and potato pizza are both extremely good.

“Pizzarro is such a neighborhood gem! I swung by for a jumbo pepperoni slice after a late-night stroll and it hit every note—crispy crust, melty cheese, and loads of flavor. The staff was super friendly and easygoing, which made the whole vibe feel welcoming and laid-back.
I appreciate that they've got Mediterranean options too—grabbed a Greek salad one time, and it was fresh and balanced (great for pairing with their pizzas). The casual, cozy atmosphere is perfect whether you’re dining solo, grabbing friends, or craving something late at night.
Parking can be a bit tricky on Florida Ave, but trust me—it’s worth circling for. If you're ever in Shaw and want solid pizza without fuss, this is the spot. Highly recommend!“

“In D.C. there is plenty of average pizza, and some above average pizza.
But exceptional pizza is tough to find. Pupatella Neapolitan Pizza is exceptional.
The service was fun.
They must use only certain ingredients, only a specific type of oven and dough to keep their Neapolitan rating issued by the Italian government.
If you want a better pizza you can go to NYC or Italy, but in DC, Pupatella Neapolitan Pizza is a good as it gets.
First, the flame fired dough with burnt brown and black bits on an actual Italian pizza dough.
Second, the list of ingredients are approved by the Italian government -- no pineapple, no ketchup and no ranch and buffalo wing sauce -- just cheese and three ingredients.
I had cheese, sausage, garlic and mushrooms on mine -- it was SO GOOD. The mushrooms were so great, not canned, not thin, but thick and sauteed and tasty!“

“Decided to try someplace new on this year's visit to Old Town. Food was very good. We enjoyed the sharable Brussels salad. For dinner we ordered the Big Ang pizza. Also very good. What we didn't like was we had a 6 pm reservation for 2 people and were seated promptly. We ordered our first round of drinks and were enjoying our appetizer when a “manager” came to our table and offered to comp us a round of drinks if we moved to the bar and let them add our table to another group that also had reservations. We reluctantly agreed and as we approached the crowded bar we asked if there was another option. He said “Oh yes, would you like a booth?” Which we did and probably should have been seated there originally. He proceeded to throw his hostess under the bus for seating us where she did originally. Food was good but that interruption to our dining experience didn't sit well. They did comp our first round of drinks. With so many great dining choices in Old Town we won't be in a hurry to come back even though we liked the food. We liked our meals at many other places as well, but without the service interruptions.“

“An excellent dining experience from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. Beautiful decor, stylish but comfortable seating, and just good vibes all round.
All of the food was amazing and so creative, especially the beet tartare which had this vegan egg yolk that looked and tasted like a real egg yolk! The mocktails were really fun too.
Only downside is that it’s pricey for the amount of food you get, but if you’re looking for a more refined dining experience with great atmosphere and delicious food you should definitely consider this place.“

“I came across this place by chance while walking around Washington, and it was such a great discovery! The concept is really cool — they have a self-serve tap system with around 99 different drink options to choose from, which was totally new to me. It’s a fun and interactive experience. The atmosphere was great and the food was delicious too. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area!“

“My experience at Oyster Oyster was wonderful. Every dish was creative and beautifully executed, and I loved hearing the stories behind where each ingredient came from. Everything we tried was flavorful and unique. The only thing keeping this from being a perfect five was that the main entrée (the eggplant dumplings) didn’t quite deliver the same punch as the earlier courses. It was still good, just not quite the showstopper I expected as the final savory dish. Overall, though, a memorable and thoughtful dining experience.“

“Flame & Cones provided pizza and dessert for our Yacht Club party. They showed up at the marina in plenty of time to get set up to deliver their goods. While they were at our request, they had sufficient food for other marina slip holders. The pizza selections were varied and most enjoyable. Their snow cones had so many flavors available that it was difficult to choose. I heartily recall them. Herring Bay Yacht Club“
