“Flame & Cones provided pizza and dessert for our Yacht Club party. They showed up at the marina in plenty of time to get set up to deliver their goods. While they were at our request, they had sufficient food for other marina slip holders. The pizza selections were varied and most enjoyable. “Many people have described this place as the best pizza in DC. While it is good and definitely has that classic NYC style, it was not five star pizza. I got the Classic Pepperoni signature pizza with burrata and hot honey - very tasty.

I got it for takeout which may have also contributed to quality of the pie. A really nice touch was that they put the buratta and hot honey on the side, which kept the pizza crispier while I brought it home.

I hope to try a fresh slice at the restaurant someday soon. They have lots of selection between their own creations and the classics. If you are in DC and craving pizza, give them a try!

“This beat some of the NY style slices I had even in New York. Just the perfect ratio of crust to sauce to toppings. Perfectly sized pepperoni cups. A gorgeous toasty feeling to the freshly heated slice. Started with 3 slices between 2 people and essentially ended up eating a whole pie. Staff are amazing, so warm and friendly. Great brews on tap and a few salads and sides on the menu to go with the pies. Can’t wait to come back“

“I had the pleasure of visiting Minya’s, and it was fantastic! The pizza was absolutely delicious – the crust was perfectly crispy, the toppings fresh, and the cheese melted just right. Whether you’re a fan of classic pizza or looking for something more creative, they have a wide variety of options to choose from. My favorite is definitely the Derho pizza, love the Eritrean fusion of it all!

The service was fast and friendly, and the staff went out of their way to ensure we had a great dining experience. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, making it a perfect spot for both a casual meal or a night out with friends.

Highly recommend Minya’s if you’re craving some of the best pizza in town! I’ll definitely be coming back.

“This spot was incredible. Great artisan pizzas with creative pairings & cooked to perfection. The Harambe loved Big Macs and Macha Roni were both SO good. My favorite between the two was the Harambe- which had an fantastic dressing. It truly was a star.

“We are tourist & was searching for a place too eat since our first choice for dinner totally ignored us after we sat there 30 minutes we left. This pizza joint is absolutely delicious. The thin crust was delicious especially on the cheese pizza. The only negative thing I have too say is y’all charging too much for a house salad. “I have loved many pizza places. None of them has been as consistently amazing as Martha Dear. The guanciale and arugula pie I had last night is another utterly stunning iteration. I will think about this one in my sleep. I will crave it. As much as I will stand on a soapbox telling anyone who will listen that Martha Dear is not just THE best pizza in the DMV, but one of the best restaurants in the area, it is the conspicuously kind service that is the first thing I will mention. If you’ve never been, put Martha Dear at the very top of your restaurant to-do list. The very top.“

“Food was great as always, but would not recommend an 8pm or later reservation. The server clearly was ready to go home, despite the restaurant offering reservations at this time, and the bar closed at 8:30 pm. The entire experience with service was rough — rushed to order and told we couldn't have another drink unless it was ordered on delivery of the first, to go boxes thrown on the table without asking for them, etc. Love Emmy Squared and the food, and am not sure if this was a bad night but it was jarring to have a reservation and be treated like we walked in to a restaurant as it was closing. If the bar closes at 8:30 and servers are going to rush tables, it's best not to offer that reservation time.“

“Hot take — More restaurants need to be deaf-owned. I can't stand going to a restaurant and having to scream at the person next to me to have a conversation. Surprisingly, there was still music, but they're not blasting it.

The pizza and wine were delicious and paired great with each other! You're not going there for the finest of either, but they're also not cutting corners. We ordered a second margherita pizza immediately after ordering the first one.

Our server was Esmerelda and she was patient with my slow caveman-quality ASL. I was able to mention that it was my friend's birthday and with an ID confirmation, the staff got together and signed "happy birthday," which was a nice and sweet surprise!

I would totally recommend this place for anyone looking for a light meal without breaking the bank. No need to be intimidated by the language barrier either. You can easily point at what you want, but if you want to make more of an effort, you can scan the QR codes at the table to view animated GIFs of the staff signing things you might request like, "beer", "wine", or "parmesean cheese" — the essentials!“

“I've had the Addis Ababa pizza and the egg and veggie breakfast sandwich, and both are really really delicious! If you're just visiting the area and aren't sure if you'll come more than once, you absolutely have to get one of the Ethiopian pizzas, you're not getting that combination of flavors maybe anywhere else. The price of the Ethiopian pizzas is fair because of the amount of toppings that go on them and how filling they are. Even on an empty stomach I get stuffed from three slices of the Addis Ababa and have to save the rest for later. “Some fantastic and clever vegan options taking influence from a variety of global cooking styles while painstakingly limiting to locally sourced ingredients. Service was incredible, and the atmosphere was surprisingly casual. Some particularly strong mushroom options and one oyster on offer for those wanting it. Maybe bc it was winter, I found the menu very homey and hardy without an over reliance on showmanship or crazy techniques and processes - at least in comparison to a lot of modern fine dining.“

“Buy the slice and pizzeria and it's really good. It was recently rated by an Italian website to be the number two by the slice pizzeria in the USA. It's not listed on top 50 of by the pie though. Also, very minimal seating, so it's more like a takeout place. I'm not sure how representative the Detroit square slice is because I've never had that before but the plain slice is really good and I tried their barbecue collaboration with a local barbecue restaurant, Federalist pig...Which is also good.“

“We love Washington DC so my wife and I wanted some pizza. We were staying at the Embassy suites in NW so I googled pizza that was close by. Pizzoli‘s pizzeria came up. It looked good so we took an Uber there and the pizza was excellent. We ordered a simple pepperoni pizza and my wife and I both thoroughly enjoyed it. Made from scratch good. We were a little bit surprised in that it was a smaller establishment as we thought we were going to a place that had lots of tables, etc. This place has one inside table and five or six countertops to eat at and then they have several tables outside but as noted, the food was fantastic. Would certainly recommended, and we will be back home future visits.“

“I recently dined at Modena DC and had an overall positive experience. The food was generally good, though some dishes stood out more than others. The crispy artichokes were absolutely delicious—crispy and flavorful, definitely a highlight of the meal. The butternut squash pasta was just okay, lacking a bit of depth in flavor, but the pesto gnocchi was quite good, with a nice balance of creamy texture and vibrant pesto.

For dessert, the crème brûlée was fantastic—rich, creamy, and perfectly caramelized on top. It was definitely a great way to end the meal.
