“Went there to celebrate my birthday. Sushi was very fresh and perfectly prepared. The slices were excellent, which made the fish delicate, tender and without too much dark pieces which have more fishy taste, no tendons/skin/muscle to make it difficult to chew. It was a delightful experience! The amount of different fish/seafood species was surprising. A special place to go to celebrate, if you love sushi. We paired it with a nice bottle of Italian Sparkling, which was an excellent recommendation by our server.“

“Absolutely amazing.
-
I went here after a job acceptance and got the chef's selection special thing (I cannot remember the name unfortunately) but it was absolutely stellar.
I brought some art supplies and relaxed while I ate delicious food like Miso, and well prepared sashimi.
The waitress/hostess seemed to be a bit new, but I completely understand.
The place is a bit small though so I don't reccomend talking politics or anything private as it's very likely someone could accidentally eavesdrop. (Like me, unfortunately hearing about a man's family disasters.)
-
Definitely take your time here if you do eat, savor the flavors and get chef reccomendations, also try the seabream! It's phenomenal and my new favorite fish.“

“I chose Akeno Sushi to celebrate my bachelorette weekend, and I couldn’t have made a better choice! It’s my absolute favorite restaurant in DC, and this experience just confirmed why it’s one of my top spots. From start to finish, the staff was incredibly warm, accommodating, and genuinely thrilled to help us celebrate. Nadia, in particular, was a joy to work with and supported me every step of the way in planning. The food was phenomenal, with each dish beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The drinks were equally impressive, featuring thoughtful details like fresh flowers that added a special touch to the celebration. The ambiance was perfect, with lovely decorations that made the night feel even more festive. Whether you’re planning a special event, a casual dinner, or a date night, Akeno Sushi is versatile, delicious, and always delivers a memorable experience. I highly recommend it!“

“Booked here because of the Michelin star rating but will go back for the service. After a bit of bumpy start, the Manager was quite accommodating and what an excellence recovery. Enjoyed the premium omakase, sake and whiskey. Never felt rushed even though the restaurant filled quickly. We were visiting from Texas but will make this a regular stop next time in town.“

“Don't underestimate this sushi spot inside the food hall The Roost. It's worth your time. Creating many sushi options, you can't go wrong. Preferring less "fishy" sushi, they have great veggie options and ones with shrimp and crab meat. Order and within a few minutes you'll get a plate of sushi with soy sauce and all the fixings.“

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Sakura Express was absolutely amazing!
The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The staff was kind, quick, and made the experience even better. Whether you’re craving sushi, hibachi, or a quick bite of something delicious—this place hits the spot every time.
Highly recommend! 🍣🍱🔥
My only complaint is that when my glucose level dropped very low, I asked for a cup so I could get some ice and drink something to raise my sugar. Unfortunately, I never received the cup. As someone living with diabetes, this was not only disappointing but also concerning, since timely support in those moments is very important. I truly hope this can be improved for the safety and care of future guests.”“

“1. Food Quality (4.5): This is an excellent sushi place for the price. I recommend the unagi Roll. While it's not going to be a mind blowing experience, it's a hidden gem here. It's definitely the best casual food at MGM.
2. Service (4): You need to order at a kiosk, which is slow and inconvenient, but it's feasible during lunch hours. Ideally, there would be a mobile card reader, so it's possible to order at the sit -down area. Otherwise, the service is good
3. Food Safety (4): Allergens are not clearly listed anywhere. Otherwise, this place is good
4. Value for Money (5): The value for the meal, considering the location, is fantastic! The eel roll was $12-15, with tip.
5. Convenience (5): This is a fast casual restaurant. It's fast and flexible, you can take the dish to your room or to the tables nearby.
6. Ambiance (3): It's a sit down bar surrounded by other shops, so not much of an ambiance.
Unique Value: This is a fast casual place with great food for the money. Definitely recommended.“

“Food: food was great, only deduction was the chicken appetizer was extremely small for the price paid. The pineapple frid rice was really good but pricy at almost $23. About 5 pieces of juicy shrimp were in the dish as well. Kruba cashew chicken was good.
Service: got there as soon as they opened for lunch so seated right away and food was quickly delivered.
Atmosphere: nice but a bit dated. Many of the tables are uneven and no longer sit together flush. Ambiance was nice, Thai decor all around and wooden vibe.
Final impression: very good for a quick lunch in downtown DC and head back to the office. Might be added to a regular rotation in DC lunch adventures.“

“When I say moving to this area there are not a lot of fast food spots I like to eat in! This one here though I must say is one I will! The atmosphere for lunch was very nice and tranquil! No overly loud music just a nice little vibe!! It was clean and the service was fast! The gentlemen that help me was nice and pleasant! I got the lunch special and it was more than enough food!!! I do recommend just off cleanliness and customer service!!! So overall clean, good customer service, and great deal for your buck!!$$$“

“I’ve had my eye on this place for a while, and I’m so glad I finally stopped by for lunch—it was absolutely amazing! The food and service were on another level. We ordered the Shrimp Pad Thai, Kapow Goong Gai, and the Maryland Crab Roll, and every dish was bursting with flavor. Our waiter, Steve, was incredible—so kind and personable. He not only gave us fantastic food and travel tips for our upcoming trip to Thailand but also taught us how to pronounce and order some of the dishes we loved. It was such a thoughtful touch! I’m already looking forward to my next visit and can’t recommend this spot highly enough. Plus, it’s super convenient, located right next to the Stadium-Armory metro station. A must-visit!“

“This little place is a hidden gem!! It is not a Michelin star affair. It is a mom and pop place that offers simple, delicious food. It will be on my list everytime I'm in the city! If you're expecting fancy, this isn't it. It's straight up comfort food!“

“Had a great experience with NaRa-Ya on the wharf in DC. I guess you would call it a Japanese fusion menu - alot of traditional items with a bit of flare to them. Started with the seaweed salad that had some avacado, a sauce, and some strawberries. Was quite good. Pork gyoza were more traditional, but still tasty. Had a couple of rolls and they were well prepared and high quality. A nice mix of standard rolls and House specialities. And best of all was the service. Food came out quick, and the manager stopped by a couple of times, and even helped us out with a small problem - went above and beyond, I'd say, to help us. Nice atmosphere with views of the water from many of the tables. It was a little hard to find, as the entrance is around the corner from the main boardwalk, and then you have to go through a hallway and to the back of the building to find the elevator to floor 3.1 (what the .1 was I have no idea). But it was worth it. Reminded us a little of Tokyo where many restaurants are on upper floors rather than the ground floor that we are used to.“

“I would like to give a huge shoutout to Ryan and James, the dynamic duo behind the bar at Moonraker. Their energy, professionalism, and seamless teamwork create such an enjoyable atmosphere every time I visit. Not only are their drinks consistently excellent, but the genuine warmth and attentiveness they bring to their service truly stand out.
Ryan and James have a natural rhythm together that makes the bar feel welcoming and fun... whether it is remembering preferences, offering great recommendations, or just sparking good conversation. They go above and beyond to make guests feel at home, and it is clear they take pride in creating a memorable experience.
Moonraker is lucky to have them both!“

“I cannot stress enough how amazing the food was, yet somehow the service and atmosphere were even better. I've had Shrimp Tempura at every restaurant I've ever walked in that served it, and it was by far the best I've ever had here.
The Beef Japchae is most likely made with magic. And I'm coming back just for the sushi. I tried 4 different rolls (Spicy Crab, Spicy Tuna, Samurai, and Hurricane) and nearly ordered a 5th. Also try the Seafood Pancake. Or try everything, also good advice.“

“GREAT value— 50% off sushi after 7pm (from $10.5 to $5.25)!!! The tuna and salmon avocado rolls are delish and $10.5 or 50% off before closing (if there are any left).
The stickers are SUPER CUTE and $1 each!
They also offer great drinks (craft yuzu soda, topo chico, boba tea etc.)
♿️ Union Market’s entrance is accessible, but tables are mostly high top (low tables by the window and outside) and the aisles are crowded most of the day. Also good lighting. Very loud.

“I've ordered from this place sooo much. I always get the sashimi, I usually get the sashimi platter. This last time I got the sashimi appetizer + vegetable dumplings. I have learned that this is one of the sushi places that plays with the term, "white fish." Some places use it for white tuna, some use it for yellowtail etc. I got the sushimi appetizer as it was advertised as salmon, tuna, and white fish--my favorites, except not the white fish I wanted lol. This was more translucent, and half-pink. That was my gamble. Can't really tell what the white sashimi I get in the platter is, I think its white tuna, but I won't make the mistake again.Nice, solid slices of shaved ginger. Good if you're sick! I do wish the sashimi came with a condiment cup like the veggie dumplings did. Veggie dumplings were fine, nice and plump. Also love that the place is open late--I've been a night owl my whole life, so works for me!5 stars overall. I've only been in-person once, and it was very pleasant. You need to be let in, which doesn't take long. Lots of randos wandering around Chinatown so I get it.“

“Food was wonderful and my server was ok. I was excited to try this restaurant and wanted to experience as many flavors as possible. I was a bit disappointed that my server couldn't explain the menu, I ended up having to use Google since she left me mid order to serve drinks. The decorations were pretty and the music wasn't too loud. The water had a weird taste and smell, which for an upscale restaurant, you would think they'd have filtered water for their guests.“

“This is an odd little place in the L'Enfant plaza but good food. There is a small storefront/kiosk with some baked goods and coffee and a larger grill behind it. Food was good and prices were pretty good. Lots of food and drink options.“

“I watched a co-worker having what I referred to as "a food fantasy". They recommended this particular location for its service and food. My waze directed me to the location which is adjacent to the JCPENNEY parking lot in a strip with 2 other businesses.I arrived midday and was welcomed by a pleasant woman near the door. Within 5-10 minutes my meal was prepared which was a combo of teriyaki chicken and shrimp with veggies, noodles, green onions, sesame seeds and extra sauce. The staff was very pleasant and appeared to work well together as a team. The portions were generous and I would definitely eat there again. After I got home I too had "a food fantasy". My vegetables were perfectly cooked, not hard or overcooked. The meats were tender, fresh and flavorable.I have since eaten at two other locations and have come back to this one for a new combo. This time I added steak and the next time I will add salmon which came highly recommended by many people.I would definitely recommend this location, the service and the food options.
Parking: In front of the business are several parking spaces. The overflow lot of JCPENNEY is available as well.“

“Khin’s Sushi gets my vote for tasty sushi at reasonable prices. Khin’s is in an odd space. They share their small and minimal dining area with a pizza place. Khin’s also sells gelato. It’s a weird one-stop-shop for all things lunch. But I digress. We tried a variety of basic sushi like their California roll. It was all good. The rolls were not huge. But we enjoyed them. The service is a bit gruff. And the ambiance is pure 80’s fast food. But forget about all of that. Go in, grab some sushi while your spouse/partner/friend grabs a slice. And enjoy a good meal together. We will return.“
