The whole red snapper was seasoned perfectly, the whiting and catfish were fried just right, and those sauced wings? Straight addicting.

The chicken cheesesteak and steak & cheese were loaded and flavorful, the fried shrimp was crispy and fresh, and the seafood boil was packed with bold, buttery flavor.

Even the sides stood out — the mixed vegetables and shrimp fried rice were cooked with real care.

Honestly, this is one of those places where you can order anything on the menu and feel confident. No guesswork, just good food.

“The manager John at this location is a 10/10. We can’t thank him enough for his kindness and for making us feel how we did. His entire team was warm, polite and made us feel welcome- especially Michael who first took our order. He even made me a special coffee for my long trip post meal. The whole team Pitched in to help us find our son’s missing stuffed animal and while we didn’t find it, the effort put in was tremendous. We are unsure if someone in the community picked up a small stuffed black cat at this location but we are offering a reward if anyone did and can mail it to us. My 2.5 year old son adores this stuffed animal and is so sad it’s missing. The store has our information/you can message me here if you have any information. “I love Chopt Salad, and I come to this location at least once a week. The ingredients are always so fresh. What I am disappointed in is the service after 3pm. I walk in at 545pm and only 2 people ahead of me, and 4 gentleman behind the counter. Grant it they are cleaning up, but ignoring customers, and leave one gentleman to pack salads, chop, and ring customers is unacceptable. Bad customer service will definitely have me going next door to roti.“

“This place was recommended and I am so glad we tried it. Healthy food. So many options. I ordered the Jerk Mango Salad. I didn’t change a thing and wouldn’t. Perfect kick without being too spicy. Mango salsa was the best I’ve had. We also ordered the BBQ bowl. I wouldn’t change a thing in it. Try the Red Rice. It’s really good. Staff was quick, explained the menu and ordering process and also offered a taste of you weren’t sure you’d like something. 10/10. I’ll be back again.“

“love chop’t but at a loss on the variances of sweet potato cooking. while it is my opinion that sweet potatoes are not a veg that should have a bite, but here to educated! if my expectation or grasp is far from norm. totally get why the brussels or carrots in my bowl have bite. but have spent most of my lunch separating the sweets out of fork range. would appreciate other veg options with same or close nutrition deets available in consistent cooked or prepped form.“

“This is a great spot for a date night or even a place to unwind after work. I love the location—it brings a much-needed economic boost to the community, which is amazing to see.
The food was really good. I do have a few personal critiques I could mention, but overall it was enjoyable and worth the wait.
Speaking of the wait, definitely bring your patience. There seemed to be a disconnect between the servers, kitchen, and host stand. We had a 1:00 PM reservation for the buffet-style breakfast but weren’t seated until around 1:30–1:40, despite several open tables. When we finally got to the buffet, most of the food was gone and we had to wait for it to be replenished.
While the service issues could use improvement, I still recommend giving them a try.“

“Best way to describe it is as an Indian inspired - chipotle, noodles &co, poke place, etc. choose one or more proteins, carbs, veggies, toppings, sauces.

It allows for a variety of combinations that one should find very satisfying. The portion size was pretty good and the value was also very good but consider the high rent location you are in and take that into account. Restaurants in that general area by the convention center are “expense account joints”. I was glad they were there when I just wanted to take my time and eat something satisfying in a quiet place.“

“This was my first time going to this place. They only make one size pizza(small). The crust is fresh They even have cauliflower crust. They make the pizza in front of you and they have alot of toppings to choose from even Vegan options. After they place it in a wood fire oven and finish your pizza with any sauce you want. The kapow had a perfect spice level and was full of flavor. We also really enjoyed the crab rangoons and wontons, both were very good. However, the cashier was nice enough to notify the manager and the manager gave me a discount after I showed him my email with the rewards information. “Red Hound Pizza has become the favorite pizza place in Takoma Park for me and many of my friends who live nearby. Their pizzas are hearty and delicious with a thick, 100% whole wheat crust using flours that are grown and milled by one of their neighbors just down the street. They also use local produce when possible and therefore their veggie pizza rotates every two weeks. They also have soft serve which rotates regularly with fun toppings like roasted pear or dehydrated chocolate cake. The owners are really great. The pizza is on the expensive side ($4-5/slice) compared to other pizza so you gotta pay a premium for high-quality ingredients. They also sell pizza by the slice. You can dine-in for casual eating -- they only have a few small tables inside and some more picnic tables in a closed off parking lot in the back. Take note: their pizza is rectangular! And the crust will taste different from almost any other pizza you've had bc of the 100% whole wheat sourdough. Also they don't have gluten-free options but they do always have a vegan option. fwiw Red Hound always uses 100% whole grains -- this will appeal to some (more protein, more fiber!) and not to others.“

“The food is good, but I’m gonna have to remove stars because of the customer service. 😕 When I first entered, I wasn’t greeted. The associate just stared at me, as if to say “I don’t have all day. Are you gonna order anything?” She had the most stony expression… It was only my second time here, so I was quite sure I had not had any negative encounters with anyone. I was trying to get suggestions and ask questions about certain things, but every time I asked a question about something, the server just dumped it in the bowl. He never answered the question. When I got to the cashier, I apologized, because I wondered if I had done something wrong. But he just referred to me as “diva,” and tried to assure me that nothing was wrong. I told him I didn’t appreciate being called a diva. I just don’t like being treated like I’m a problem when I haven’t done anything. I gave two stars for service, because my first experience was so amazing! I don’t know what happened.“
