“I dropped in on an early Monday evening for take-out and had a drink while I waited. They have some pretty awesome menu items and it was quite difficult for me to chose. I opted for the veggie chimichanga. I ordered a margarita, snacked on some chips and delicious salsa and enjoyed the wait. “I have always only gotten crabs at j and t seafood but they were closed so I decided try this place based on reviews. I ordered 2 dozen large steamed crabs for 7:00 pm, Saturday night. Got there at 6:55 and was greeted by Nelbis (I hope I spelled his name right). Very friendly, food was already packed to go steaming hot, and when I got home, every crab was large and the seasoning was just right, not too salty and not too little. Definitely coming back here again!“

“I have been eyeing this place for a while since I've been on the hunt for really good tonkatsu meals. It was one of the handful to pop up as a recommendation for the Ellicott area. I'm proud to say that I've found it-- the best tonkatsu restaurant. The waiter was very nice and attentive, and it paired well with the calm ambiance. There's pretty lights and seating. It was not busy at all when we visited but I hope in the future it will get a lot more popular-- because this place is such a golden find! We ordered the tonkatsu (pork cutlet) with curry, the chicken katsu curry, and takoyaki balls! The breading in the meat was so crispy, and the meat was plentiful, with good ratio. There was no fat pieces found in any of our meals. The food was also cooled to an edible temperature that you could consume once it was served! The curry comes on the side in a large cup, ensuring your meat does not get soggy. “I went to Hunan Legend and ordered the Egg Drop soup, vegetarian egg rolls and Singapore Noodles on a Sunday afternoon. You can dine in but I wanted to order carry out. The staff was friendly, kind and attentive. My food was fresh with plentiful portions and it was absolutely delicious!!!!! It was my first time at Hunan Legend. I will return again. Loved it!!! “First visit and certainly won't be the last. Had brunch and enjoyed everything consumed. Started with the Fried Oyster Deviled Eggs, which were really good. Main entrees were the French Toast and Smoked Salmon Toast. The French Toast is way too much for 1 person so it was split between 3 people and there was still a slice remaining. It was quite tasty but there was an orange flavored taste that took away from it just a little. I really enjoyed the Smoked Salmon Toast, no complaints at all and the same goes for the pitcher of Planters Punch. Our waiter, Silva was awesome, put grenadine in our glasses to enhance the punch and it was perfect. My friends ordered the Shrimp Frittata and both enjoyed it. Can't wait to come back and I forgot to mention they had live music which was nice.“

Unlike other Japanese restaurants I've been to, they have just a main room with an open layout for the hibachi. There is also a bar and sushi counter. There were 14 people in my party. My friend made reservations for 6:30. Upon arrival, we were informed there was a mistake with our reservations. We needed two tables so the girl's table was seated after approximately an hour wait. The boy's table took about 1.5 hours. The guys sat at the bar and ordered drinks while they waited. I ordered the Hibachi Sirloin Steak and Scallops with fried rice and Garlic Shrimp for my appetizer. Everything was flavorful. My favorites were the garlic shrimp which I've never had before and the steak as it was tender and not chewy. Service seemed a bit slow, but our server was attentive. Because of the mishap with our reservations, they comped the boys for a round of sake. Definitely enjoyed the yummy food and highly recommend it! Just make sure to confirm reservations and ask for a name.“
