“Stopped by to get me a half fish sub (about 6" long & cut in half) with fries. The sandwich was on point. The food was hot and the cheese had melted. The service is always nice cause I try to treat others the way I want to be treated. You act ugly then...... They haven't opened up the sit down section yet so, it's still carry out or deliver. These are nice folks who care about the neighborhood. Serving good food, to me anyway.“
“They've gotten my order wrong before. I asked for a steak and cheese sandwich. I got a fish and cheese sandwich instead. However, it is now my favorite item on the menu. Besides that service has been good. One of the new deliverers are so nice and charming in a way. This is the main carry out I order from.“
“This spot on H St Corridor is hands down my favorite. The drinks, service, and food consistently impress. The ambiance is wonderfully moody with dim lighting and great background music. I always opt for the vegan version of the beef noodles, which are consistently flavorful and delicious. The bartenders are not only friendly but also knowledgeable, offering excellent recommendations. I appreciate that they maintain an accessible archive of past menus, allowing guests to order from a wide range of drink options. Despite its small size and the place sometimes getting crowded, outdoor seating and an extra bar on the back patio provide additional space.“
“This is intelligent and well thought-out food that is delivered with kindness and engagement. Truffle dumplings with a corn foam were genius. Terrific vegetarian drunken noodles. And silken tofu in a complex fermented black-bean broth that made me see through time. My wife's cocktail had a tiny touch of a Chinese cough syrup in it, which sounds funky and was, instead, kinda transcendent! We sat at the bar and watched the passionate precision of the kitchen. Bartender was super friendly. Great evening that we hope to repeat soon. Keep up the great work!!“
“My family and I ate here twice, this past week, while on vacation. Our server, Jasmine was incredibly nice and attentive on both occasions. On top of that, almost everything we ordered was very delicious! The restaurant also has a kid’s menu (e.g. Mac & Cheese, chicken nuggets, etc.) that comes in very handy if your kids aren’t partial to Indian food yet :)“
“Authentic Yunnan cuisine. Fast service. Great options. Starters were excellent. Vegetarian options available pretty much for all the menu items. Cucumber roll starters and mushrooms were great. Mains portions are large enough to share. Another thing to note is that they provide corkage- so feel free to bring your own wine.“
“Amazing location for private events. Staff was very professional and provided great service. We enjoyed the ability to have a customized menu with themed drink names and a great array of food options including passed appetizers and buffet style serving. Our guests loved the atmosphere and vibe of the venue. Thank you Bar Chinois for helping us have a successful event!“
“An interesting take on Chinese cuisine, definitely worth trying! Everything was delicious, the staff were friendly and professional…But including 22% service fee is ridiculous!!! Why don’t you just pay salaries to your staff, guys? It’s absolutely fine to include wages in to the prices - they are not that small, btw!PS Ribs and wings were awesome ??“
“Wow everything we tried looked beautiful and tasted amazing. Pork and kimchi potstickers, veggie dumplings, green beans, and smashed salmon are what we tried. I don’t think you can go wrong. Love that you can order everything through toast tab too. Makes it simple.“
“Dim sum is brought out from the kitchen rather than served from steam carts going around the restaurant. As for the taste and quality, they depend on what item you order. I liked the bean curd roll and the shrimp stuffed tofu but the fried chive dumplings were gummy. Prices start at $5.25 per order and go up to over $10. The service was pleasant but weekends are extremely busy here.“
“dim sum:shrimp dumpling 3/5pork dumpling fresh crab roe 4/5pork ribs with garlic 4/5steamed chicken claws 4.5/5bean curd roll with oyster sauce 5/5purple gold yolk bun 3.5/5meat:roasted duck 3.5/5vegetables:snow pea leaves 5/5noodles:seafood fried noodle 4.5/5“
“I am working my way through the menu and got a delivery order for dinner - this time I tried a variety of vegetarian and meat dishes - I recommend starting off with a soup, the shrimp winton soup was delicate, comforting on a cold night. The crispy beef had great sauce but the beef did not stay crispy like I expected. Dan dan noodles were the perfect texture and temperature but didn't come with a sauce as pictured. The pan fried bao had rich pork filing, good texture and a crispy underside. Mapo tofu, again great flavor but I was expecting some texture to the dish besides the tender silky tofu. Excellent spice level.“
“Great food hall for a quick bite or to link with friends or family. A bar in center, with booths throughout dining area.Variety of Asian foods familiar and authentic cultural cuisine , great way to try something new in an open environment.“
“I had a random craving for Chinese one night so I took a leap of faith and tried China Cafe Carryout for the first time, due to its reviews and I was not disappointed.I ordered the orange chicken, white rice, and a egg roll and my cravings were well satisfied. They did not hold back on the portion size either. I had enough for dinner and lunch the next day. My only issue was they only accepted cash. As someone who doesn't carry cash, I became discouraged but strangely enough, they accepted CashApp so I was able to pay for my food. There was a ATM inside the restaurant also though I had no intention in using it. I highly recommend though! Just remember, if you don't have CashApp or aren't comfortable with using a random ATM, then take cash!“
“I just moved to Alexandria recently and I love Chinese food. One of my favorite dishes of all time is King Pao chicken. South China's King Pao was outstanding, the sauce was fire! ?5 stars, I highly recommend. A regular customer was earned at South China restaurant today! Can't wait to come back ??“
“This Chinese restaurant is very clean and decorated nicely. The food is freshly prepared with fresh ingredients. I called in my order, everything was correct and it was ready when I got there to pick it up. I've had there food before and I have never been disappointed . Best Chinese restaurant in the area between Suitland MD, Clinton MD and Fort Washington MD.Parking: Parking lot parking, plenty of spaces out front of establishment.“
“5 Stars - surprised by some other reviews. Our first trip and we loved the food. The dry pot shrimp/scallops was probably the best Chinese recipe I’ve had. Very, very fresh, well seasoned, and loved the presentation. My picky child ordered a 2nd helping of the soup dumplings.Overall, 5 stars (we’d visit again the next time we’re in DC). Family friendly, and kids loved the Chinese menu items (no “kids menu burger/fries garbage).Kid-friendliness: Kids loved the soup dumplings, and fried rice. “Best ever” according to their review.“
“Easy five stars. There is so much passion in this little place. It feels like a home cooked meal. Pretty much is. The owner is so kind and welcoming. It's a glimpse of what I wish more businesses were like, with charm, quality, and love of the craft of tea making and food. It's a cute little place with lots of personality. I can see this place becoming very popular.“
“I was impressed! We ordered takeout, and the food was still pretty warm. We got the General Tso's Chicken, the crispy beef, and chicken & cilantro dumplings. All of the food was super fresh!! The crispy beef had a tangy flavor, and actually was crispy. The vegetables were a great accompaniment. The chicken and cilantro dumplings had a great flavor, and the spicy sauce was the perfect addition. The general tso's was overall good but could have been more flavorful/crispy. The portions were also pretty generous! I would definitely order again!“
“This is our favorite sushi place in Old Town. Have been coming here since they opened maybe five years ago. The owner used to be a sushi chef at MoMo Sushi, which used to be our local favorite. His sushi here has consistently been top quality whereas we were disappointed with quality once or twice at MoMo and its always too cramped. We usually get the sushi combo.“
“The food tastes amazing! Highly recommend the noodles. The XLB was really good, but pricey at $14 for only 6 dumplings. Definitely one of the top Chinese restaurants in the Alexandria area. Worth going for the food! But prepare to drop some money for the food. The interior decoration is very aesthetic, has a very traditional Chinese vibe inside.“
“About time I review CHIKO. They recently reopened Barracks Row location for inside dining, and I’m thrilled. I’ve been coming here pretty regularly since they opened back in 2017, and it’s definitely one of my favorite spots in DC. My favorite dishes are the brisket and confit duck fried rice, but everything on the menu is fantastic. If you see something new (and you will), give it a shot because they definitely put a lot of creative energy and care into their dishes.Oh yeah, and their take out bags are adorbs.“
“I've been looking for a good spot for the last two years and I think I found it. Food is good, customer service is great! I'm so happy that the chicken doesn't taste like rubber (like other places) and the food has flavor-I've really been missing out. I'm so happy and totally recommend anyone to come here. Great food!“
“Nice weather today 60s, we are seating outside. Entertained with Mexican music from neighbor. Food comes fast, the service is excellent, staff asking what we need frequently, they fill up water and bring extra napkins. We enjoy the food, love the fusion taste. Orange Chicken is very unique, it is crispy!! Until next time.“
“Ok - so I've honestly turned my nose up at this place in recent years because it feels like people love it for the novelty (it's in a Days Inn motel) and not the food. But real talk, I ordered the cumin lamb, and I put in the notes: "I AM ASIAN PLEASE MAKE VERY SPICY" - and Panda Gourmet delivered. I was hurting, and it was so good. Their cumin lamb was so flavorful and sooooo spicy. It honestly rivals Bobs Shanghai in Rockville (which is very high praise because I'm obsessed with theirs). Panda Gourmet's mapo tofu is a lil weak, but next time, I'll put the same note on it too and maybe they'll kick it up a notch.“
“I nearly always get fried tofu. It is fabulous, for a meal or snacking. It sounds simple, it is and it is delicious. My other favorites: the spring vegetable rolls and the vegetable fried rice are great too. The rice has big pieces of fresh vegetables in it. The family owners, in addition to Chinese, speak Spanish and English reflecting and serving well our great little town of Mount Pleasant.“
“Coming from the West Coast, I didn't know there was a difference in how people do Chinese takeout/carry out. I usually wouldn't order wings and fries at a Chinese place but now I will be every time I can! The mambo sauce is a game changer! The wings and fries are crispy and delicious. We also got Lo Mein and you can't go wrong with that. They gave generous portions and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be back!“
“Had great lunch at this place. First I saw the sign and wondered what "Chinese burger" was. But when I looked at photos on Yelp, I learned that this place has noodles and rice bowls and I decided to go. You can order at the counter or on the touch screen by yourself. I did the latter. Tbh the restaurant name is misleading, because they really don't have burgers. They only had a sandwich with pork. Majority of the items on the menu seemed to be noodle dishes. After scrolling menu pages many times, I ordered braised pork rice bowl and dumplings. Food took about 15 minutes. But then they gave me a sandwich although I ordered a rice bowl. So I had to wait a little more while eating dumplings. Dumplings were nice and juicy. Hot. The sauce that came with them was good. The rice bowl was Ah-mazing. I added free toppings: onion, green pepper and cilantro. The eggs were the best. I should have paid for extra eggs. The braised pork was so flavorful and juicy. A lot of rice. O recommended it for anyone who's very hungry. It's a smaller restaurant, and not suitable for groups of 5 and more, but it is perfect for solo diners and small groups. Will go back.“
“Exactly what I want out of my casual Asian dining. Small place, unassuming, and old looking menu often mean the food is about to be great. We got the pork dumplings and pork buns. Both were packed with flavor. The chili sauce on the table was spicy enough to bring one single tear to my eye, perfect. Wish it wasn't cash only and that they had some music playing so it wasn't so quiet, but overall great experience and would recommend.“
“Isshin has one of the BEST service in Adams Morgan. May is the woman who always helps me. I think she’s the manager. She keeps that place running swiftly and smoothly. During the pandemic, Isshin made every effort to keep their place sanitized and customers safe by using PPE and placing hand sanitizers all around. The staff works super fast to get meals ready for you. They always go above and beyond to offer excellent service. I had to order spicy shrimp rice and I was going to arrive close to closing time, May kept Isshin open until I arrived (5 mins late) to pick up my food. I only live 3 blocks away but once I was not able to pick up my food from Isshin. May immediately said, “if you live close, I’ll deliver for you.” And she did just that and as usual with a very pleasant demeanor and genuine smile. May and her team at Isshin make this restaurant one of the best in Adams Morgan. Thank you May and Isshin!!!“

“During our recent visit to our son in Falls Church, VA, my wife and I had the pleasure of dining at TNR Cafe, a Chinese restaurant recommended by our son. He often frequents this establishment, so we decided to try it out. We ordered a few dishes for takeout, and we were blown away by the incredible flavors and perfect cooking. The Vegetable Spring Rolls were light and crispy, the Taiwanese-style Rice Noodles were delicious, and the Sauteed Lo Mein with Vegetables was flavorful and satisfying. The Kung Pao Chicken and Sweet & Sour Chicken were also standouts, with tender and succulent meat in both dishes. Overall, we had a fantastic dining experience and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal in Arlington, VA.“
“Visited DC for a few days and this place looked cool. Didn’t know what to expect but since it was cold we decided to try it out. We had the beef pull noodle and it was so good! Also it’s really nice to see them make the noodles in front of you. We also ate the pork soup dumplings, wonton soup, and brown sugar latte. Everything was good and warm! For sure want to try out the burger next time I’m in DC.“
“The intestines were my favorite part of the meal!! It was not too fatty and had a little kick of spice to it. If you can eat intestines, I highly recommend. It's on their new menu. Also on the new menu, we got the sweet and sour pork. The pork does have bones in it, but the sauce is delicious. This was my friend's favorite. For a veggie dish, we ordered the mapo tofu. I thought this was lacking compared to other mapo tofus I've had but I usually like more meat and smaller softer tofu in my mapo tofu. You might really like this. Service was good and quick. Everyone there spoke Chinese and were very friendly. The interior of the restaurant is decorated nicely. Check out this place for more authentic chinese food if you're in Georgetown!“
“Trust me, the egg foo young is not greasy and really good... Right now they are my best place for egg foo young in all of DC. Egg patties are nicely cooked.... Gravy is also not dark brown or heavy (ask for it on the side to control your portion) Tasty ??“
“I stored my luggage in the market place and found out about this restaurant after picking up my stuff. The owners were very friendly. I ordered fish and pea tips. Both were authentic and delicious! I plan to revisit this restaurant again when I am in town.“
“Loud, yes. But it is okay. A party atmosphere. You sit close to others, but everyone talking fully mitigates that. Fun atmosphere. Not for a quiet romantic dinner, yet the digs and accroutrements are top notch. Place is popular for 3-6 drinks with dinner!“
“I ordered 100 wing for my daughter 1st birthday party and when I mean the wing were bomb and Wendy was so kind and she had my food ready in timely matter and also she gave my baby girl a fresh slice of cheese cake thanks Wendy you and you staff keep up great “
“We ordered Sour Vegetable Fish Soup, Stir Fry Bok Choy, and Green Pepper Chicken (rice is complimentary) for three people and we were stuffed to the brim. Note there are not many space or tables around (only 3) to dine in at the restaurant. Hence we did take out instead. Great substitute for Szechuan Great Wall which unfortunately closed down a few weeks ago. This is the closest that one can come to authentic chinese food in the district. Would love to try other dishes in the future.“
“I had the beef with broccoli and fried rice! Everything was tasty. 4 starts because I also had the hot and sour soup and it was bad. Tasted burnt and I’m sad because the soup was the reason I ordered :(Some restaurants get it absolutely right and others…. Well ?“
“This is my absolute favorite spot in DC for Asian food! Their cooked dishes are very good and their Japanese sushi menu is amazing. It is very affordable and they give very generous portions! They are also so friendly here and the atmosphere is very cute“
“So tasty, what a gem!! I ordered the CURRY LAKSA NOODLE Soup, pictured. It can be all plant based - I asked for mushrooms, spinach and broccoli to be added/substituted for the chicken, and with no hesitation they accommodated me! I'm so pleased with this Union Station fast casual option, located on the second level. If you take the stairs opposite the Amtrak ticket counter, you'll find it with big open air seating. This dish also includes tofu, vegetables, rice sticks & egg noodle combination in a coconut curry broth, with bean sprouts, fresh! green beans, and corn. Amazing, and spicy warm. They have non spicy foods, too. I'll upload the current menu.“
“I've ordered from this place sooo much. I always get the sashimi, I usually get the sashimi platter. This last time I got the sashimi appetizer + vegetable dumplings. I have learned that this is one of the sushi places that plays with the term, "white fish." Some places use it for white tuna, some use it for yellowtail etc. I got the sushimi appetizer as it was advertised as salmon, tuna, and white fish--my favorites, except not the white fish I wanted lol. This was more translucent, and half-pink. That was my gamble. Can't really tell what the white sashimi I get in the platter is, I think its white tuna, but I won't make the mistake again.Nice, solid slices of shaved ginger. Good if you're sick! I do wish the sashimi came with a condiment cup like the veggie dumplings did. Veggie dumplings were fine, nice and plump. Also love that the place is open late--I've been a night owl my whole life, so works for me!5 stars overall. I've only been in-person once, and it was very pleasant. You need to be let in, which doesn't take long. Lots of randos wandering around Chinatown so I get it.“
“A small restaurant with a large menu of Chinese and other Asian dishes. My friend and I shared Singapore Noodle Vegetable ($15.95) and White Meat Orange Chicken ($16.95). We enjoyed our lunch and noticed how good all the food being served looked. Located close to the Metro and just a few blocks from the Phillips.“
“I live down the street so this is my local Chinese place, and I love it! Love the egg drop and wonton soup and they must think I am crazy cause I regularly order just soup from them. But everything else I have had is also good - fried rice, lo mein, the basics. Always ready on time when I walk in! Thanks from the crazy soup “
“Wow! Ate so quickly and didn’t take any pictures. This is the best fried rice I’ve had since the early 2000s in New Haven, CT(Down the road from Yale). The food tastes like authentic Chinese American cuisine may be even Hongkongese. It took me back in time. Grateful for the great food. Impressive!!“
“We've been eating here for over 20 years and it has always been good. It is recently under new management and the way some items are prepared has changed, but still very tasty -- just a new twist on an old favorite. The one thing the new management needs is someone who knows their way around a bar. The people there this week had a very limited range of knowledge about drinks (gin on the rocks got a blank look), but once you explained they happily made a very acceptable drink.“
“I have been in the US for 8 years and I would love to say that Muncheez's shawarma is the best in town . It's %100 the real original recipe of Shawarma you want to have cause they do it exactly the same way labanes people do in Lebanon. The manager Abbas is so amazing and the staff are awesome.“
“I very much enjoyed my dinner from Panda Bowl! Delivery was fast and easy. The wontons were huge and delicious. The spring rolls were crunchy and flavorful. I loved the Chicken with String Beans. Reminds me of the Chinese restaurant I grew up ordering from :)“
“The chicken and fries combo is unmatched. I love a good carry out spot. I have only had the chicken wings and fries but I would go all the time if I regularly ate fried food. Their mumbo sauce is also good ! The customer service leaves something to be desired , but that's carry outs in general IMO. I wouldn't eat here , in the cafe , but to go is always quick. I call my order in, wait a few minutes and head there. Never had an issue with long waits or feeling like it they overcharged me. Get the ice tea lemonade mix !“
