“INCREDIBLE! You will do a happy dance when you bite into that lobster roll and those hot hush puppies. Everyone was lovely, hilarious, and helpful. Kelly and Naya made this a wonderful eating experience. This is a bit of a hidden gem and worth your time and dollars.“

“Great ambiance, excellent drinks (pimm's cup and martini were memorably good). Food was great (catfish spread, sliders, and croquettes). Only the beignets were slightly undercooked, and it was a bit unfortunate they've still charged us for them even though we informed the server of it.“

“My daughter and son-in-law treated me for my birthday and what a treat it was! From the birthday champagne treat to the special popcorn to the dessert and all meals in between—nothing disappointed. The food was delicious. Filet mignon prepared to perfection. Lamb chops, braised beef, shrimp—all delicious. The sides; I could go on. My husband also enjoyed his meal. Our particular teenaged granddaughter loved her chicken tenders. Even our 2 year old granddaughter enjoyed her kids meal. Definitely will return. This was our first time but it won’t be our last. And last but not least—our server, Micaiah, was the best. Her recommendations were on point. Top notch and so professional!“

“We loved having dinner so much on Friday night that we had lunch on Saturday! Lobster roll was delicious. Great selection of raw oysters. PEI mussels were the best! Service was on point. Friday night Ashley was great and sorry I didn’t get our great servers name on Saturday. Manager Ronald Vasquez was so personable and made us feel like regulars. Wish we lived a bit closer because we would be. Highly recommend!“

“Excellent raw bar and seafood restaurant. Walrus seafood tower was amazing with a great sampling of the raw bar. Pork belly and lobster salad was really good and so was the pasta although it was quite spicy. Great dining experience and time.“

“Mariscos 1133 is hands down one of the best brunch spots I’ve ever been to! The food selection is incredible — from savory dishes to the amazing drinks, everything was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. You can tell the kitchen puts care into every plate.
The drink menu is just as impressive. Whether you’re in the mood for a classic mimosa or something more creative, their cocktails are delicious and well-balanced. The vibe is vibrant yet laid-back, making it perfect for a relaxing weekend brunch with friends or a casual date.
The service was also top-notch — friendly, attentive, and quick without feeling rushed. I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend Marisco 1133 if you’re looking for an unforgettable brunch experience!“

“The Sea Bass was a total suprise. More often than not I am dissapointed when I order fish. Not the case here. The presentation was superb. The blend of flavors, textures and colors was an epicurean delight. Our waiter/bartender Damany was thoughtful, always on point without being intrusive. The whole experience was one worth repeating.“

“Exciting food, great flavors and nicer presentation. I tried the set menu and loved everything. My favorite was the crab with potato dumplings, and the wagyu kebabs were surprisingly good. The fish crudo seemed to veer off the theme, but it was still tasty. The zero proof cocktails were very good, too.
The staff was friendly, and the ambiance is really nice. The room is spacious, but the tables are close to each other.“

“This was my first time and I went with a friend of mine visiting from Philly. We went for brunch or early lunch. The food was great and the staff were friendly. Food arrived fast and tasted absolutely delicious. I had the seared shrimp tacos, moist and tasty-yum, my friend had the market fish sandwich for that day, he absolutely loved it and he doesn't usually eat fish lol.“

“Love this place. Have been here three times, twice at the bar for lunch and once for dining. Service is superb, everyone serving us has been extremely friendly. The food is some of the best we've had in DC, and definitely the best spot for seafood. I adore the grilled oysters and they just added two new types to the menu - to die for! I'm honestly surprised it's not packed all the time but they do have ample seating.“

“Service was great and beyond exceptional. A place to try for special occasion for seafood. We had the grilled octopus and sardines for appetizers. Both are great options. We had the Connecticut version of lobster roll which came in hot. The catch of the day was a pan seared cod. It was good. The hit was the squid ink risotto. This place is great to celebrate special occasions but not for weekly or even monthly dining. Would be cost prohibitive.“

“Phenomenal restaurant with unique dishes and exceptional service. While at times understaffed, the endearing front of house makes the effort to provide a great experience.
The space is quaint but vibrant, perfect for any occasion for singles, couples, or small groups.
Plate sizes vary and the salo salo $70 3-course, a la carte meal is a great option.
Favorites have been the Ube colada, golden rush, hamachi, cassava cake, ensaymada, lamb shank, prawns, and burnt cheesecake“

“Had a fabulous birthday dinner with family last night. Oysters were delicious with a great hot sauce provided from the Bronx. Skate and Monkfish specials of the day were excellent. Monday night and there was not an empty table. Testament to the great food and wonderful servers.“

“I could not believe how good the food was. When everything came out I was legitimately giddy with excitement. I came here with my spouse and our three kids after hitting up a local event - so we were all hungry and a bit tired. The drinks came out quickly, and our appetizer came out shortly thereafter. And OMG the cornbread. I grew up in the south and cornbread was just so-so for me but this was hands down the best I’ve had in my 37 years. The food came out and the portions were absolutely enormous. My spouse and I shared a full rack of ribs (which were huge and meaty and so well seasoned) with a near bucket sized amount of fresh fries and a cast iron pan of Mac n cheese. My kids had tenders and fries and honestly there was so much I could’ve split one plate between the three of them. The price was super reasonable, even before I knew the portion sizes lol. I would absolutely come back and recommend it to everyone I know.“

“The location is at the end of King Street along the Potomac River....the surrounding area was very busy and active since they closed down the last 2blocks of King Street which creates a great pedestrian area as you approach the restaurant. We had a table in the outdoor covered dining area that was very nice and overlooking the water. They have outdoor heaters for cooler weather. The oysters were great as were the crab balls and crab dip appetizers. I had the fish special that was Florida Grouper over a bed of veggies that was outstanding!! Great experience and not too pricey..... Lastly, our server SOFIA was fantastic and attentive! Highly recommend!!“

“It was in the middle of a heavy rain storm as I ordered so I ran to my car! The young man walked my user to the car in the downpour. That was next level! The food was good too. Only thing was most of the crab options were 86'd. Will have to come back on a sunny day to try more if the menu“

“Hank’s is one of the best spots in town — their lobster roll and fried oysters are hands down the best I’ve had in DC. “I can not believe this place. So first it has an indoor and outdoor place to order. The customer service was amazing. I was greeted and helped as soon as I walked in because they're were several people taking orders. Not only that but the Crabs were done already. I've never seen that before. It was like all she had to do was put them in a bag. They were still warm 15 minutes later when I was able to eat them. They were so so good too. I paid $20 for 1 dozen and I swear there were like 16 in the bag. This was super convenient as I was delivering a truck to Giant and could eat on My Lunch break.“

“I took my teenage boys here on our last night in DC during spring break. The staff is absolutely wonderful, so friendly, kind, fun, energetic, and genuine. The food is completely amazing and all three of us loved everything we ate (scallops, filet, chicken) but it was very much the staff that made the experience so enjoyable. Highly recommended. Beautiful restaurant.“

“Returning to Washington from a France worn down by its own melancholy — a nation led by a presidential couple seemingly disconnected from l'esprit de grandeur — was a relief. The Monocle, nestled just a short pas de géant from Capitol Hill, felt like an antidote. Walking through its doors, I immediately felt transported, like one of the CIA operatives from Lioness Psy-Ops, covertly meeting allies in a safe haven of quiet luxury. Opened in October 1960 by Connie and Helen Valanos, The Monocle has seen more political deals sealed over its crab cakes than perhaps in the chambers of Congress themselves. As the Washingtonian noted, “The Monocle is a better restaurant than it’s given credit for,” serving dishes like “pan-fried Chesapeake Bay oysters baked in a light curry sauce” that feel like culinary diplomacy at its finest. What strikes one immediately is the duality of the space: half public house, half refined eatery. In the restaurant's more elegant quarters, I chose a glass of Sancerre, its mineral brightness pairing effortlessly with the signature crab cakes — plump, golden, and loaded with chair de crabe so sweet it could make a New Englander weep. A red wine-braised New York strip followed, its sauce reminiscent of the old-world simplicity one finds in France’s brasseries, yet undeniably American in its confident presentation. The maître d’, Nick Selimos — a fixture here for nearly three decades — greeted every guest with the kind of warmth that makes even the most hardened lobbyist feel comme chez soi. “There’s nothing more satisfying,” said John Valanos, the owner, “than having someone say, ‘We’ll come back ourselves.’” And come back they do — senators, staffers, and curious tourists alike. Sipping a digestif, I glanced at the black-and-white photos adorning the walls — Kennedy, Nixon, and other Washington titans. It’s said JFK dined here regularly during his Senate days. As The Washington Post humorously observed, "Intentions are spoken here, alliances formed, and deals sealed," all over dishes that balance simplicity and sophistication. Leaving The Monocle, I felt reconnected to the vibrancy of Washington, its pulse steadied by the legacy of places like this — where history, gastronomy, and a touch of joie de vivre blend into something unforgettable.“

“In the hustle and bustle of our complex world, sometimes the best things do the simple things perfectly rather than many things somewhat well. This salmon BLT embodies this ethos. The bacon was perfectly crispy, the salmon was flaky and flavorful, the bread was delicately toasted, and the sauce, onions, and lettuce were gently complementing.
Kudos, Neopol... Kudos... Hear, hear... Cheers 🥂“

“Everything was really good, we got wings and red snapper (I ordered catfish but didn’t understand me) the wings were fresh and crispy, I got lemon pepper wet and the fried rice was great. There’s a bit of a language barrier, they mostly speak Spanish, but other than that 10/10“

“I had an early afternoon flight to catch yesterday at DCA. So I stopped in at Your establishment to have lunch. The moment I got there I was greeted by the most friendliest staff I’ve experienced in a long time. My server was a young lady by the name of Betty. She was very knowledgeable and very polite. I ordered the fish sandwich and Chowder. They were both great. I will recommend this place to my friends and associates .“
