“Went there this past weekend and tried them for the first time!!! Was greeted soon as I walked in. A tough bag lady that was waiting for her order said I had to try the seafood Mac and cheese and she wasn’t wrong. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 The good brother running the store also let me try a few other sides. All were amazing so I had to choose but I wanted to try all of them. I got the vegan drumettes, with the vegan ribs, seafood Mac and cheese and the collard greens. All tasted AMAZING!!!! I also ordered the mint tea and the ginger tea. Amazing. This was the Newark, De location on Main Street. I’ll definitely be back. Thanks for hospitality and the great food.“

“This is hands down the best bakery I have ever been to. I don’t think you can go wrong with anything they have. My personal favs from my recent visit were the scallion, egg & cheese croissant, crab rangoon croissant, and strawberry milk donut. If you are in the area while Rose Ave is open, you would be doing yourself a disservice by not stopping by. The only negative thing i can say about going here is that, for people who do not live in or frequent the DC area, you will forever long to return. There was almost 5 years between my first and second visit here, and i dreamed of that return every single day.“

“No other bakery like Seylou. We travel in to the city every weekend to eat here. The staff is so kind and feels like an extension of our family. They’ve taken my child behind the scenes and shown him how grains are killed and bread is baked. I could not ask for a better community and diet staple.“

“It was my first time going to this place , the staff can try to be more welcoming and pleaseant and help they clients to order , I had to take my mask off to speak and let them know what i wanted and as i was ordering I felt like i was being rushed to order , the food was tasting but tge owner needs to change the way the food is charged , I was charge for each separate item this is not a place where you order yourself a complete meal for a full charge , the food was delicious but I would not go back and another turn off in the bakery area they had flies around the sweet bread .“

Their cakes are cute and fun while tasting delightful- you can taste the real ingredients, and every bite is light but sweet without over doing it. “I love coming to this Paris baguette every week before work. julieth was incredibly helpful and inviting. I was in a rush as I had a bus to catch and she quickly rung me up and got me a bag to hold my delicious pastries. Great customer service! “The food here was incredible and the ambiance is very nice! There is a nice variety of beverages, especially cold ones for the summer time. The staff were super friendly, especially Enrique, who came to chat with us. Although they weren’t doing seating service, the food arrived at our table very fast.“

“When this place is good it is excellent but there are times when the food and experience are just a bit inconsistent. Sometimes the French toast or bacon will be dried out or like it's been sitting for a little bit under the light but when it hits it really is the best. I've rated it four stars just because consistency is so critically important with a restaurant and we often debate if we're even gonna go because we know when it's not great it's just not worth it especially for the cost.

I will also say the atmosphere itself is fine and what you'd expect. It's at least very clean, which is important. Our favorite items are:
- the French toast
- the biscuits in general
- the fact that they have kids' portions and options for some of these“

“Visited a second time after my first visit over a year ago when everything was out of stock.

A Redditor’s comment describing the Kouign amann bringing tears to their eyes was the pull. And it really is quite fantastic: flaky, soft layers, a crunchy top helped along by the crystallized sugar, instead of the usual syrupy finish I’ve found at other bakeries in the city. It’s not too sweet, and has a slight saltiness from the butter.

It’s a little smaller, more akin to a kouignette, and comes to around $5.80 with taxes, which is on the pricier side.“

I’ve had Ethiopian food a couple of times and do believe their food is better. My wife got awaze tibs, while I got the special kitfo, a tar tar style dish. My wife’s was wonderful and I’m sure mine was good as well, but I know tar tar is not for me. Bottom line, if you’re interested in trying Ethiopian food, this would be a great experience.“

“I can't believe that I have lived here for nearly 20 years, walked past this place many times, and just discovered it several weeks ago. WOW! The pastries and, cakes, muffins and croissants are excellent. Their homemade jams are wonderful. Their breads, quite yummy! I love their iced coffee , which has s a very subtle taste of cocoa. And, I am a very picky coffee snob. Service is sometimes a little chaotic, but the staff is super friendly. Weekend mornings are insanely busy- a reflection of how good they are. Amazing, spacious outdoor seating! LOVE this place.“

“This bakery was absolutely superb. The croissants were fresh, flaky, and incredibly delicious. The ham and Swiss was exquisite, and the chocolate croissant was just as impressive—rich dark chocolate paired perfectly with the buttery, delicate layers of the dough.

The fresh baguette was outstanding on its own, and even better paired with brie. You can truly taste the freshness and quality in every bite. I ordered through DoorDash, and even with delivery, everything arrived tasting amazing—so I can only imagine how incredible it is in person.
