“I didn't get the chance to try the food. but it was a nice spot. The door guy was very accommodating to our party as it grew. He had our party moved to a different section so all of us would be comfortable and relax. It's a nice spot to hangout. The drinks were good. Heads up the code word is Red.“

“I always overlooked this place because of the sign outside. The Kansas City Style burnt ends were amazing. Same for the wings as well.

The Mac and Cheese was not for us. Seems to be missing either another cheese as an ingredient. Seems to just be too much Gruyère.

The 1/4 chicken was phenomenal.

“Off the Record is a quaint little bar in the basement of the Hay-Adams hotel. It was very busy when we went there, due to which, in my opinion, the quality of service suffered a bit. The drinks were excellent, but pricey.

When you are there, take the time to look at the sketches of various political figures over the years that adorn the walls. They are positively brilliant!“

“This is a really great bar to have fun drinks and delicious food. It's part of the signature Thai restaurant downstairs which is phenomenal. So the same great food is served upstairs in the bar.

The decor is fun and interesting. The service is quick. I highly recommend sitting at the bar.

As for dates, I think this place makes a great spot as a stopover if the first part of the date went great. You can still hear each other talk and you can share some small appetizers and try each other's drinks.“

“The ambiance is eclectic, with color blocking every way you turn. However, it works seamlessly with the choices of live foliage decorating the interior. The staff is extremely friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu to help make decisions. We had the corn cheddar quiche, shakshuka, breakfast potatoes, maple dreams, and enchanting illusion. The quiche was smaller than expected, but deceivingly filling & full of flavor. The shakshuka was so good, that I had a hard time waiting for it to cool on the cast iron dish. The maple dreams (Surreal's take on the espresso martini) was delightfully light, and the maple was a nice touch. There isn't much in the immediate area, aside from hotels and boutiques. So unless you are visiting from out of town, or purchasing decor, you'll have to make a separate trip just for this restaurant. And let me tell you, it's worth it.“

“Great cocktail bar with an even better vibe. The service was fantastic from start to finish and we were well taken care of. Drinks were excellent, we had the Captain Sea from their house cocktail menu and then rolled the dice on the bartenders choice, both well worth it. We also had the eggplant dip and the house cheese dip, both were delicious and portions were comparatively generous. I would absolutely come again, and repeat everything about my visit, although I must say I would love to snag one of the available couches in the future, as that looked like an even more elevated experience.“

“We went here on Memorial Day and it wasn’t too crowded which was great so we could sit at the bar. The bartender was super friendly & made us delicious drinks. I had the signature old fashioned with maple syrup & my husband had an old fashioned infused with lavender. Overall we had a great time & enjoyed the drinks. “I did the bottomless brunch here on 4th of July and wow it was so much fun! Service was absolutely stellar, our table was attended to constantly which allowed us to have more of their delicious drinks. My favorite drink was the white sangria, but the guava mimosa was a close second. The food was great, loved The Line-Up with generous portions of a variety of breakfast food. My friend is vegan and their menu was accommodating with the awesome avocado toast and açaí bowl. The vibes inside were so good, feels like an hip spot. Overall, we had a great time and will definitely be coming back to have more fun again!“

“I’m not frequently in Navy Yard but Royal Sands is a fun reason to go. The vibes are super cute and they have a happy hour on Saturdays as well which was great if you want to do some day drinking! “If you’re in DC, Quill cocktail bar is the place to go. Its dim lit atmosphere and ambience provides such an intimate setting whether for friends and family or for business. You have your choice of sitting indoors or outside on their raised patio. Oh, and the service here is phenomenal! When you first sit, they bring you mixed nuts and olives and introduce themselves. Their cocktail menu may have only been just a page but if it’s not on there, they can definitely make it for you. My wife requested an Espresso Martini (non-menu) and it was the best of its kind she’s had yet. She also enjoyed the Ventura Highway, from their menu. My personal favorite of theirs was the “Johnny be Woode.” This became my go-to there. They do have a dinner menu as well. Their burger exceeded my expectations! Their desert menu impressed! The presentation was artwork and the flavors will surely make you long for more. Our server two of the three nights we were there was Andrew. Andrew made sure we had everything we needed and could possibly want. He provided absolutely excellent service, great humor, and pleasant conversation. On our third evening here, Amber greeted and served us. Amber is another gem at Quill, making recommendations on menu items as well as local recommendations around the town based off what my taste preferences are. Both Andrew and Amber had an awesome attitude and helped make our stay at the Jefferson Hotel just that much more memorable! The atmosphere, service, and great attitudes made for such a unique and satisfying experience that we ended each of our evenings, visiting Quill. Next time we’re in town, we will definitely be going back to Quill.“

Along with the great service was great food. Try the goat cheese pizza andrhe Barley Mac smash burger with bacon jam and truffle fries. You will not be disappointed!“

“My husband, myself, and our three sons dined here last night. It was a such a wonderful and unique experience from start to finish. We had the pasta paella, the oxtail croquettas, the pork belly bao, the ceviche for dinner. For dessert we had the jelly like pie, the cafecito, and the chocolate and mango/passion fruit ice creams. The music and atmosphere were so dreamy. The decor was so beautifully interlaced together with tropical plants and midcentury modern furniture and fixtures. We will be back on our next trip to the DC area.“

“I recently had dinner at The Hive Bar and found myself with mixed feelings about the experience. The pizza was delicious, with a perfect crust and flavorful toppings that made it the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately, the service was disappointingly slow.

I had finished my meal before the rest of my family's food even arrived, which significantly disrupted our dining experience. Additionally, we did not receive any refills of water throughout our meal, which was frustrating.

While I would recommend the pizza for its taste, the slow service needs to be improved. I hope The Hive Bar can improve their service to match the quality of their food.“

“By far the best chili I've ever had!! I guess their mozzarella sticks were on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives and Guy Fieri thought they were amazing. I liked them too. Second time back and when I'm in DC for biz I'll be going each time.“
