The staff watched my little one practically grow up there! It became our meeting place and neighborhood watering hole. Quick and efficient and some of the best food and customer service! “I’m fairly new to road biking and had just bought a new to me road bike from FB Marketplace. I had sent an email through their contact form which Laurie answered and gave me enough reason to bring my bike to Proteus. I brought my bike in this past Saturday. The first person that greeted me was Paul. He checked over my bike and let me know that my bike was really in great shape and made a few minor adjustments that he didn’t charge me for. He replaced my seat and clipless pedals with flat pedals. Literally everyone in that shop made me feel comfortable and welcome. Laurie, Jeff, Duncan, Andy, Paul, yall are amazing and made me feel at home. I live in DC, but Proteus is my go to bike shop now!“

“Today, my coworkers and I visited a coffee shop. I enjoyed a hot chocolate, ham and cheese croissant, and some pumpkin bread. The customer service was excellent. While making my drink, the worker ran out of whipped cream. She apologized and had to go to the back to get more. “We arrived early to no crowd!! We usually go to the 14th street location..being it is walking distance from home. We decided to venture out to the 2nd location out Penn. Ave. The waiter was prompt, cordial and efficient. We both had fresh brewed hot coffee. We both had the Big Waffle Breakfast. The delicious waffle was served hot to melt the butter! My companion complemented the waiter by saying the entire meal with bacon and eggs were the hottest (temp) served in a restaurant!!

“My exercise partner and I were looking for a place that wasn't local. We chose this location because it was 4.2 stars and roughly 30 minutes from our house. The first thing we noticed as we got closer to the entrance was that all of the windows in this property had steel bars covering them. I instantly thought, "We will be completely protected inside if there is a riot between the police and gangs outside." I discovered that you need to be buzzed in by the owner to enter the restaurant as I was reaching to open the entrance.“

And order a latte based on the recommendation from the barista. I also order the bacon breakfast sandwich. When I bit into the sandwich it was still very cold. They remade it no issues. I should mention today is the day Starbucks brought back the free refills and the mug service. So I ordered my coffee in the mug because I knew I’d be here till around 5pm. When I went to get refill it was my surprise I could not. I was informed that I didn’t order the correct drink even though when I was ordering I excitedly told the barista that I was excited about the refills and ordered it in the mug for that purpose. Despite this the wonderful store manager Josh took the time to explain to me what coffees and teas qualified and he gave me a refill anyway even though my drink didn’t qualify. “I visited Cuppa Tea last weekend after the DCDI at UMD. I went with a group of friends to get boba and shared an ice cream sundae. I got the Lemon Black Tea which was amazing! Perfectly flavored and sweet. I wish I would've gotten the bigger size because it didn't last long lol. I got a Chocolate Egg Waffle with Nutella filling and vanilla ice cream with Oreos and Reeses. OMG it was sooo good! Our visit there was the perfect way to end the weekend. We hung out at the Cafe while we drank/ate. It's a super cute shop and the staff were really nice!
